my wife is Lao, this video reminds us of how wonderful Lao food is and made us a little homesick. Thank you. The sausage is best in Luang Prabang and the papaya salad, tum (pounded) markhung (papaya) is their national dish! Thailand's version is pale in comparison.
Max McFarlin in know time brother! I share your video on all my social media and hopefully in the next couple of days your channel can grow like crazy! Keep it up and we are waiting for your next videos! Be safe!
One thing I find really refreshing about your videos is that you don't talk with your mouthful, and often cut to the food when talking. Too many youtube food blogs end up showing us half a mouthful of food when talking!
Thank you so much for sharing.😊 The food made my mouth water. And chewy noodles must be a Lao thing, because thats how my mom makes her noodles. The footage at the wat warmed my heart; seeing the monks and the women in their traditional garb.
Hi Max I am enjoy your show so much you’re very brave Does you eat they all my favorite thank you for showing me our country Laos enjoy I keep watching you eating I am jealous Every time I watching you I am so hungry I wish I can sit there with you you are awesome Max

Same name in Lao, sai gaok is Lao food eaten in northern Thailand, the isaan people. Isaan was part of Laos until Thai King conquered Laos and its people back then. That's why so much Lao influence foods and culture in Thailand.
Eating rice with every meal is Lao thang. As the saying goes. "Lao people are the offsprings of sticky rice (Luuk khao niew)." Northern Thailand and Isan were once called Lao states until "Thai-fication" campaign came into effect in the 1930s. Thai calls the sausage sai kok and Lao calls it sai oua.
Just started watching you yesterday and I’m hooked ! You deserve 1 mil subs seriously , I like your style , good food , get to the point , And I love that u would try anything ! The amount of chili you eat , you might have been Asian in your past life 😂
That sausage is called sai gaok in Laos. It's Lao food and very delicious with many herbs in it. Just little history here, part of Laos was conquered by Thai King then, therefore you have all these Lao influence foods in Thailand. The Northern Thailand, isaan were once part of Laos, that's why they speak Lao. You can use chicken, duck, pork, or beef to make Laap. The laap, papaya salad and so forth are Lao national foods. If you want the real stuff, go to Laos, the origin of many delicious Lao foods.
thank you so much for the information. I heard that Isaan region and Laos used to always go back and forth until one day government said the river is the divider. I really enjoyed that story.
That sandwich looks real tasty and I like the drink at the end. It would be a perfect fast meal for me. You're in Laos? hop in Vietnam, spring rolls awaiting there.
