I recommend getting the books' called, " Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-wheel- Drive trails" by Charles A. Wells & Matt Peterson. I think I've got the 1st three editions and there's also similar books he did for the trails in Moab, Utah. It's the books I use when looking for new trails to try out. Alot of good information in these books. I got all of them when I was at the visitor center in Georgetown, Colorado. I'm from Minnesota and I'm thinking about going to Colorado again instead of going to Montana since I don't have trail maps for that State.
Props for wheeling with a full family, dog. It takes a lot of concentration to be safe and at least on video everyone in the vehicle seems to know when to keep it down and let you focus. I wheel with my dog and I think that is too much to handle sometimes. lol I can't wait to get back to Colorado and explore more of these trails. Thanks for the video.
Yea i agree, wheeling with an RTT is always sketchy, IMO. I think the previous owner included it as a value add for Flavion, but hes def going to take it off.
Yeah I don't know if it's a lack of understanding about weight and balance or guy has balls of steel and deep pockets. He was about 1deg from rolling it though. At least put the tent on the bed of the truck where it is designed to hold that weight and lowers the center of gravity. You need all the help you can get on these IFS trucks.
@@TheVikingSailor I think it might be a mixture of both. With a sprinkle of dumb luck. Haha. He bought the truck with the tent like that, and immediately when to wheel it. He said he was going to sell it after this trip.
Lol Not selling the RTT, I just fixed it! I keep it off mostly but was planning to go camping for a couple of nights instead of wheeling. Luck was a big factor there for sure, but I gotta say that I was not used at all with the crawl control and it surprised me pulling the truck up when I was not ready for it. I do not have deep pockets hahaha
@@Conexao.coloradooutdoors oh nice man! Also i want to be clear the term “dumb luck” is american slang for when you get lucky. 😀 but you told me that day you where gonna sell it? Glad youre gonna make use of it though! 💪🏻
I was hoping the Taco to almost burrito teaser video meant a full video was incoming! Looks like some to add to my ever growing list w/special reminder to download the maps to my tablet and phone as backup
@@DeanJohnson67 5.13s have been great but i wouldnt stress it too much. The gas mileage id about the same for us and the 4:10 T case powers through any trail on 4:10 gears no problem on 37s. I think you emailed about your trip. We have been so busy im sorry for not getting back to you but we would love to join you on a trail.
Thats gotta be hard to know where to turn your wheel when everyone is trying to yell spot at the same time every time... Yeesh.. specially when its your first Time doing it. I wanna go do miller rock now though

Oh wow! Really! Now i feel like we have to go back. 🤪😅
Real Nice Video !! I've been in that area but never run those trails. It's definitely on my list for this year looks cool !!

That was a killer cut at the beginning!

The RTT and awning + the roof rack on that tacoma seems sketchy af.

The snow is FINALLY slowing so trails are opening! We have a lot of cool trips planned already!
