The soundscape in this game is the best they ever produced or I ever heard in a game! It just flows with passion! Used to launch the game to listen to the night scapes on campaign, not even playing, yours is a less GPU-hungry solution 🙃
I really like the artwork of this game. This here is a great example depicting Achilles and Hector with their respective allies on either side in the background
Can't help but notice the questionable accuracy of bronze age armament (maybe itself reflecting historical historicism, a modern age interpretation of a classical period imagination of the bronze ages so to say), but it sure looks great.
Total War Troy is underrated imo. A shame it is pretty overshadowed by the Warhammer series, there is some really good design which went into it which ended up being used in Warhammer 3.
"Jaynes asserted that, until roughly the times written about in Homer's Iliad, humans did not generally have the self-awareness characteristic of consciousness as most people experience it today. Rather, the bicameral individual was guided by mental commands believed to be issued by external "gods"-commands which were recorded in ancient myths, legends and historical accounts. This is exemplified not only in the commands given to characters in ancient epics but also the very muses of Greek mythology which "sang" the poems. According to Jaynes, the ancients literally heard muses as the direct source of their music and poetry. Jaynes asserts that in the Iliad and sections of the Old Testament no mention is made of any kind of cognitive processes such as introspection, and there is no apparent indication that the writers were self-aware. Jaynes suggests, the older portions of the Old Testament (such as the Book of Amos) have few or none of the features of some later books of the Old Testament (such as Ecclesiastes) as well as later works such as Homer's Odyssey, which show indications of a profoundly different kind of mentality-an early form of consciousness.[3] In ancient times, Jaynes noted, gods were generally much more numerous and much more anthropomorphic than in modern times, and speculates that this was because each bicameral person had their own "god" who reflected their own desires and experiences."
I like the work you did here. It's a bit loud (high loudness + compression in the editing) from what I can tell, but the effort in this is still amazing. Thank you.
Great compilation really helped me in the exams. Could perhaps create a compilation with the various battle tracks of the soundtrack, to help and in the workout.
Thanks man. Hope youll pass with flying colors! I planned on doing more battle compilations but then real life got in the way and I moved on... In December some new stuff will be added, maybe even some more Troy. Stay healthy!
Need some help, please! There is a piece that has been playing in my game and I can't find it. I think it might be new, because I played Troy, put it down for a bit and then only came back to it recently, and this particular piece of music has really stuck out to me. Does anyone know what it is? It plays during the campaign map, and it has the female vocals throughout, the same vocals as in the track "Isle of the Blessed". I've been through every track I can find on youtube with no luck. Can anyone help me find it?
The beautiful campaign map and the soundtrack are just perfect. Sadly the game is quite dull because it has some of the Warhammer mechanics that don't fit well in this game.
I'm playing some other bronze age mod for an other game because there is never any good music that fits with it (I wouldnt even know if it existis Bronze Age music?)

Troy by Stephen Fry for me.
I'm more of an Aeneid man myself. Roma Invicta
Strange. I'm reading the exact same thing.
@@haj1126 reading one of the most popular pieces of literature in human history is not THAT strange lol
I listen to this to read the Iliad too

Thanks for doing this. I hate it when a game doesn't release their soundtrack.
They did if you're interested ;) Vinyl on top of that!
I read this in Sturges' voice.
they just did
It’s on Apple Music now
The game series was growing old on me. This one changed my mind. Refreshing, and the soundtrack is one of the best ever - game, movie, or album.
Don't play games but use this vid a lot as background sound when reading Greek mythology and it's PERFECT 💙
This soundtrack is killer when studying philosophy. Thank you Soundtrack Refinery! (:
Listened to this while on a bus ride through Sicily. Was perfect

Are you able to list out their names? I only know Agamemnon since I just started the game.

Didn't know they were both left-handed.
one of the best ambient music on ancient greece/mediterranean world theme
The 'Waves & Sea' track is incredible. Makes you think of the dangers of sea and how much Odysseos had to go through when escaping Troy
Reading the Iliad with this and it's awesome
Perfect music for playing as a ruler type character in a pen-and-paper RPG. Thanks for uploading.
Perfect to study and sleep
nope FML

Very haunting and yet majestic at the same time! I love it!
I listen to this while listening to the audiobook of the Iliad.
I really really want this game.
Stories from when man began to listen to his own voice.

It's an interesting theory. That's it. Asserting such a thing does not make it a truth, though.

its nice - reminds me Black & White 2 ambients
I think this is much more thematic than the sounds they chose for 3K.
