Belinda has been so good lately. She’s had some big wins her career but now she more confident and consistent.
This is probably the best she's ever played. She seems to be working well with Tursunov. She's got a friendly draw. She usually plays well against power players, and Sabalenka is a vulnerable power player. If she can pull that off, either Vekic or Fruhritova for a spot in the semis.
It’s so funny how many times I watch Belinda and think of Martina Hingis. The way she changes direction is so classical and all timing and technique. It’s a credit to Hingis’ mom who coached them both.
yes, many similarities - but bencic has a better serve and hingis has better movement, and more improvisational.

Bencic is a solid base liner if I ever saw one.
She has a wonderful swing that she keeps very consistent. Great positioning on the serve too.
But Giorgi has always been a powerhouse with that natural tennis talent. They both have that natural talent!

Feliz de ver en competencia a mis dos amores. Lástima por Camila que al parecer ese es el máximo nivel al que llegará, mientras no cambie de entrenador. BB cada vez mas consistente. En este caso cualquiera que ganaba yo era feliz.

If one was to base the final score on the player with most winning shots in this video, the winner would be Giorgi. I appreciate these tennis videos but the video should represent who won.
Without learning and incorporating 'defense" into her game, Giorgi will not go any further in her game. Her one dimensional game is at a dead end-I am afraid.😊
giorgi has played like this for as long as i can remember. it's probably due to having her dad as coach from the very beginning and not having any other perspective on the game or another coach who can tell her about the importance of a having a plan B when hitting hard doesn't work against an opponent. it's a testament to her talent that she caused upsets on a good day, and even won a WTA 1000 when everything happened to click, but i feel like she had quite a bit of unfulfilled potential and at this point it's probably too late to make any major changes to her game
