Monty and myself brave the elements of the storm on the hills of Glencoe, the forecast was for gale force winds gusting at 70mph and heavy rain all night . We were stuck in the tent for 15 hours due to the storm.

Hello and thank you kindly for a great video. I just turned 60yrs old, recently retired and widowed, so looking for new adventure, may come to Scotland, get some crazy camping in with Monty and yourself then head over to St Andrews and play 18 holes on the Old Course ;)

This is when I pull out the ear plugs. With weather like this it's the only way to get any sleep. Love sleeping in a tent with rain but not when it is this extreme. Hats off and a hearty toast to you my friend.

I normally get a wee bit jealous watching the camping vlogs that you guys put up but not this one I'm afraid. That looked awful and a tent would be the last place I'd want to be in that weather but fair play to you Stevie and well done to the Soulo for standing up to the weather.

Man this takes me back to when me and a few pals would do this. We always made sure to camp in a really cool spot protected by large boulders. Ames you feel alive

I love it when it rains heavily while inside a tent but that wind... hell no. I’d be gone ASAP otherwise I’d be up all night worried I’d be taking flight up in the clouds.
Been a while. Nice camp, crazy wind and rain. Best just hunker it down in the tent. Wouldn’t mind the beer though. Thank you for sharing.

as I said on your other channel, 3.20am, I was out re-pegging guy lines, what a wild night and we really rely on our kit. Like yours Stevie, mine stood me proud and got me through the worst night of camping I've ever experienced

Yes, I love this Hilleberg tent, too - and have used it in severe weather, too in the high desert of the US southwest... good job on the demo. I really would like to visit Scotland some day. I'm a native English (US version) speaker - but I can hardly understand you Scotsmen.... I like the way it sounds.

That Soulo can take a good beating. I believe such videos, tell us all how it can be at times. It is not all sunny, windless beautiful warm days out in the mountains; even if the forecast states that is what it is going to be, we can get caught out in the most horrific weather conditions and that is when experience, good robust equipment and a good sensible head on our shoulders can save our lives! I tent camped near a Florida beach and endured gale force winds. Finally gave up and found a recreation building nearby and slept there. What an experience! My Eureka tent survived well though!
Nice one Dee , it certainly is an experience. It is good test the the gear out now and again but it is usually a sleepless night 😂

Nice one mate. Looked wild. I’ve hiked that valley. Went up the buckle from there. A nice day and the wind was wild. It must funnel it. Tent looked solid though. You’re like me. I can sit in the tent for hours no bother. Some folks can’t do it. Have to watch montys version too. It did look brutal though. 😖 well done for taking it in your stride. Atb 👍

reminds me of camping in a tropical storm in Florida the Germans down the hill woke up in a lake 4" deep but the bottom of the tent by Vaude I think held out the water till they opened the zip and the water poured in.German engineering got love it.

Wonderful video. If at all possible, please let us beginners know the make and models of your gear (tents especially) along with your geographic region. Forgive me when I say you could be Welsh or Scottish but I’m sure many of us would love to know. Also, longitude latitude is great as we can google and see the mountains where you adventure!
