From Australia I was struck down with this over fifty years ago and there was only ten known cases in the world. I was one one of them. I lost the use of my legs was put into hospital. I was given injections of vitamin b. I was told I would not walk again but I walked out of the hospital with difficulties. I had lots of numbness and pins and needles for over twelve months. Although I have damaged nerves in both legs I am still walking around and I am in my eighties. I also lost the reflexes in my knees.I just want to encourage those who are going through this to not give up keep fighting. I was determined I was going to walk out of the hospital and I did. At that time I also had three young children and that gave more determination to beat it.

All I was given was vitamin b and just for two weeks. At first they thought I had a brain tumour but that was ruled out. I was not given any help of any kind after I left the hospital, I had to fight it on my own with the help of my wonderful husband. It was difficult for me to move about with a lot of feeling not there. I think you would be given better follow up care today. I have to say I thank God that I have the use of my today as I am in my eighties now and still have very good balance. I do hope people who are going through this are getting much better help today.

@@jeancaust9762 It is wonderful to hear from you, and that you are still healthy at your advanced age. Somehow your body has been able to heal itself after the injections. A poor diet can cause B12 deficiency's like a lack of animal products. I'm from the Netherlands and approaching my 50’s. My mother has lived to her teenage years in WA but her immigrant parents had to return to Holland due to illness. She's 74 and still 'younger' than her mother at the same age. Many western people today will not live till their 80's healthy if at all, the Western diet being the culprit. I'm interested to hear your opinion about the modern Western diet vs the diet prior to this time of overconsumption of sugars, starches and ultra processed food. What are the main differences?

    • @verigone2677
      @verigone2677 2 ปีที่แล้ว +41

@@aprilgarcia4523neuropathy in and of itself can be cured, nerves can replace themselves, and the tiny ones affected by this condition are the easiest nerves to recover. The issue comes in that the underlying causes damage cells faster than the body can heal them. So, your neuropathy will heal itself with no further intervention on your part if you can solve the causing condition (ramping up your vitamin D and various B complexes can improve your body's overall recovery speed). Neuropathy in and of it self is a secondary condition caused by a primary factor and it is itself more of symptom of something else than a condition all on its own (the vast majority of the time). Those cases without a known cause, Idiopathic Neuropathy, are very rare and almost always figured out to be rooted in some form of autoimmune if Diabetes and Hepatitis are ruled out.

Eat pork meat or pork liver. It has the type of thiamine is used for the nerves to rebuilt.
Don’t buy thiamine because that is hydro soluble and the nerves would not be able to absorb it.
      Change your diet.
Go to carnivore diet, no keto diet.
All the veggies, seeds and nuts have carbs. Don’t eat bread, any made with flour. No sugar , no rice or pasta. Coffee and tea depletes absorption of B1. No alcohol either.
Your pain, in just one month into carnivore diet will improve spectacularly.

I had the same issue 5 years ago. I had very low B12 in my blood tests. I’m non diabetic PN. That means they don’t know why I have it. I take a big dose of B12 every day with D3 and K2. It got about 50% better over the next few years. It solved most of the pain and pins but the numbness was still there. I went carnivore a year ago and started intermittent fasting. I have improved by 50% in my nerve damage. All in all I have 90% improvement in pain and 60% improvement is nerve damage/ lack of feeling in my legs. It didn’t get better fast. It’s been a marathon. I’ve also lost 50 lbs and solved high BP and sleep apnea too. Wasn’t planning on that.

B1 operates the Breathing Function in the Lower Brainstem! I was involved in a ToXic Fume X-P to Pulp Mill Emissions building a New Recovery Boiler next to an operating Pulp Mill with 1000 tradesmen! Dozens of us were Booked for the Sleep Disorder Clinic! I knew already I couldn't use the plastic Tubing and Mask on the 2nd night because the Neurotoxin Ethylene oxide is used as a Plastic Softener! My discernment is the hundreds of TPD of Nitric oXide being emitted is a first cousin to Nitrous oxide Anaesthesia which impairs Cellular absorption of B12! So if a person has been put under for surgery Or dental work, Cellular absorption may be impaired!
I saw a Surgeon for knee n shoulder surgery and a young brother suggested my B12 was low, needed for optimum Bursa Sac health found @ every joint! That was 6 year's ago and at times I lapse in daily B12 dosing, but if I get a jab of pain in a joint Or snapping, I take B12 and it's remedied in a very short time! Oh yes the Thiamine, B1 in a B100 supplement ended my Sleep Apnea! I'm Canadian where we're Restricted to 100mg of B1, but I've found 300/500 mg in America! I Hope this helps!

Diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy after chemotherapy for lymphoma. Agonising pain in my feet and hands with numerous other issues such as GERD, lack of sleep etc.
Several doctors and consultants could only prescribe classical painkillers at best, I tried them all and nothing touched the pain. It got to the point I wished the cancer had killed me.
Someone suggested eating more red meat to raise my low testosterone and I accidentally ended up almost cutting out everything ELSE that was giving me issues.
Very soon I was full carnivore, 16/8 fasting and feeling better than before chemo.
My feet were almost pain free in 3 weeks, my GERD was gone in less than a week, my sleep was back to 6 hours at least and instead of being physically exhausted I was mountain biking with my son again.
I'd spent two fricking YEARS wishing I'd died because of UK healthcare incompetence at every level.

Dr. Berry, I've been on Keto and Carnivoire since December (7 months) and my peripheral neuropathy is better. I have better feeling on the bottom of my feet, but after watching your video, I realized that there is one thing I totally forgot about. For about the last 15 years, I've had a terrible pain in the big toe on my right foot. I know that is hard to believe. The pain in my big toe was so bad it was disabling. It was hard to walk and hard to drive a car. I just realized after 7 months on Keto, that I don't have that severe pain in my big toe anymore. I haven't had that pain in several months. My big toe feels so normal that I just forgot about it. That's pretty amazing what Keto did. (also fasting sugar is between 90 and 104, only 1 metformin a day, and I've lost 45 pounds since Christmas)

Been looking for real help for 1.5 yrs now... very few things make it tolerable. BEGGING for help! Everywhere you look, everyone says, "it can't be reversed"... You're the first person who explained the glycation and phagocytosis process and how it works together to damage the nerves... everything everyONE else just implies... "well it's like it just rusts and there's no recovery for it"... it's worth waiting for the pain to go away if there's HOPE that the tiny nerve endings can regenerate, even if it takes... like you said, months, or more... I have the tingling and numbness down the inside of both my legs, fortunately no pain yet. What happened is: long time low carb diet turned serious carnivore in May 2022. Went on vacation with my hubby Oct 8-15 2022 and fully off carnivore. I mean I had so much bread & sugar it was a rebellion. A day and a half later I wake up with my entire body tingling and I kept complaining to my hubby my body was so swollen. My thighs, my tummy, my face. I was stupid and kept eating that way till I got home. Started right away back on strict carnivore and felt a little improvement in less than 2 weeks. Thank the Lord. When my body was tingling all over I thought maybe a virus or something. Now, over 2 weeks back on strict carnivore, only the insides of my long legs, insides of my arms and my stomach are still super tingling & numb. *I really feel this entire experience with carnivore and then jumping of and back on has shook some sense into me. I’m so lucky enough to not have any pain this time and realize I most likely will not be so lucky if there ever is a next time.
Thank you Thank you Thank you for keeping this video up!!👏👏👏👏
I feel so much better after watching this video. I feel confident if I stay on carnivore long enough I may see more improvement with my nerves. ~I had a full blood panel done just last week and everything came back normal for carnivore. The only thing they red flagged would be my ketones (2+) and of course my LDL (179) but my Triglycerides (65) to HDL (68) ratio was under 1, so YaY!!!
Thank you again so much for keeping this video up!!!👏👏👏

Dr Ken realised I was suffering from this alongside sciatica in both legs which confused the diagnosis somewhat and after wading through tons of as you say useless junk. I found this which quite honestly picked me up off the floor.
It was confidence inspiring to listen to the information particularly when other health care professionals give praise to your knowledge. The mainly carnivore/low carb diet I enjoy now has helped me immensely at over 40 lbs lighter at 70yrs young has shown what can be achieved. Many thanks and good health to you and yours

Thanks Dr Berry. You are a life saver.. In 2021, I had a poor diet (LOTS of junk food binges) & was stressed out due to the extra work demands of the pandemic & living in the path of the 2020 chaos and protests. I was also the most overweight I had ever been in life. One day I suddenly had Peripheral Neuropathy all over my body that didn't go away. After seeing a doctor, they told me they had no idea what was causing it but only that it was an irreversible condition and maybe I should "lose weight" because the extra weight caused it (Doctor just guessed. I had been overweight for over a decade without these issues). Labs just showed A1C of 5.7 and cholesterol level of 211. I stumbled across this video and reversed the neuropathy within 3 months. Also lost over 100lbs switching to a keto diet with fasting. Blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol are optimal despite high protein, high fat and high sodium diet. I am awake to what Dr Berry has to say about healthcare and food industry conspiracies now.

I am suffering from small fiber neuropathy ( as diagnosed by my Neurologist). It is now more than 5 yrs since I stared experiencing the symptoms primarily burning sensation and numbness in the toes and in the mound under the toes. Things have not progressed much since then. But my problem is sleeplessness. My sleep has been poor in the last 10 years. At times my night passes off without sleep. But this sleeplessness hardly affect my routine. I have never felt rundown because of that. Is my SFNP due to poor sleep over the years. My all other health parameters are good. I am a healthy individual & walk around 10 kms a day. I am a vegetarian.

Ozempic is a dangerous drug for an older persons with neuropathy. I was prescribed Ozempic for Type II DM. I had two very dangerous falls because Ozempic aggravated orthostatic hypotension to such an extent it caused me to blackout suddenly and fall. The first fall caused a severe break in my left ankle which required surgery, and a head injury. The second fall caused a broken hip. It took weeks of hospitalization before my doctors figured out Ozempic was causing my BP to drop so low I would pass out upon standing. It took eight weeks for Ozempic to clear my system and allow me to stand up without blacking out. No one has mentioned this problem with these types of medications but it should thoroughly be explored.

thank you, i am in the UK, and for the most part my peripheral Nuropathy has been ignored, not treatment, no suggestions to help me cope with it, just get on with it, I was told that mine is a result of being born with congenital bilateral tailpies, and having many surgeries to try to correct that, i also have spinal stinosis which apparently is also a direct result of the operations to my feet and hips, again no one has ever taken the time to explain any of it to me, in fact one doctor said in a letter to my GP, " he is going to be in pain for the rest of his life and he is just going to have to get used to it" since then i don't bother them so much and just try to learn how to deal with it myself. So your video helped me to understand a little more about it and will try to follow some of your guidance, so many thanks and take care :)

Thank you so much for getting this out there. I discovered these remedies on my own because of Lupus and other severe AI disorders that I have been fighting for years. Tried multiple specialty clinics and all their drug concoctions to no effect. Occasional debilitating bouts of the disease required massive short turn doses of prednisone to stop the incredible pain that truly had me thinking I could not go on like this. No amount of opioid pain killers would touch it. Also debilitating neuropathy in my feet, where even a fan blowing on them was excruciating. About 18 months ago I went on the Keto diet as I was gaining weight from the prednisone and inactivity and I started feeling better with longer and longer hiatuses between severe bouts. Always there still, neuropathy still fairly severe. I started getting severe arm and leg cramps and thought I must be missing some minerals. Started with Magnesium and Potassium and things slowly improved over many months, then switched to Carnivore diet and have made much faster recovery. I'm a 72 year old male and now have limited neuropathy in my feet. I have been able to get out in the woods and cut, haul and stack 2 cords of wood in the last week. Something I thought would never seem possible 1 year ago. I always tried to stay active but was dying from autoimmune disorders.

I am and Engineer by profession and naturally was relying on doctors for the ultimate machine that our souls live in and am so very disappointed for so many years! I tell my parents the same, last year we almost lost our father due to his doctor prescribing him medications which were lethal, fortunately there was an doctor at the emergency who stopped and weaned him off of all 4 of them and our young father of 93 is better than before :) ..... so there are doctors who genuinely care and there are those who make a business of the corrupted side of the profession like all professions have. Dr. Berry this was so helpful. Please add that a blood serum B12 is useless if a patient is already supplementing orally. I had gastric bypass and my B12 homocysteine and MMA levels all were normal. I am awaiting results of the Intrinsic factor tests but starting IM B12 injections and Keto have almost completely reversed my symptoms. Gastric bypass causes B12 absorption issues due primarily to the Intrinsic factors. My Neurologist missed this. Thank you for your contribution to helping me regain my life.

Two things have helped me, first I use some compression socks in the evening. They give temp pain relief. Second that has helped reduce the severity of pain is cycling. I try and ride my bike for 20+ miles every other day. This takes about 1 1/2 hours and gives some good relief.

About 10 years ago, peripheral neuropathy in my feet was the first sign that my lazy and poor eating had caused type II diabetes. Very long story short, I had a very high A1C. I went no sugar/no grain, reversed the diabetes (A1C of 5.0) and have maintained that for years. The neuropathy is much better, but not completely eliminated. When I first noticed it and until I got my eating and weight controlled, there was actual pain and burning on a regular basis and discomfort all the time. Now, I just feel some very, very slight numbness, but no pain and burning and sometime not even that. Getting rid of the neuropathy is a long term thing and it may never completely resolve. Word to the wise- get your A1C under control before it starts.

      @Judeslovinlife 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

have you also checked your B12 levels? Perhaps B12 can help eliminate the rest of the issues in neuropathy and you'll feel completely better......I'm so glad you've had relief on diet alone.

B1 benfotiamine along with alpha lapoic acid with intermittent and prolonged fasting
With a strict ketogenic diet has massively reduced inflammation in my ankles and the feeling is coming back in my toes and the bottoms of my feet the pain is gone and the sensitivity in my legs has calmed down substantially.
My morning fasting glucose has come down
Very much: three weeks ago I had readings as high as 169 wich had me floored.
Since then my numbers have come down substantially 119 104, 96 , 100, 99 now my numbers are getting within ten points all day.

please do more videos on this topic. with more detail on steps to improve a existing condition. for example are there certain types of exercise a person should do or stay away from if they have neuropathy caused by type 2 diabetes or back issues.
I have cofounded my doctors because they cant confirm whether my neuropathy is caused by my dramatic reduction in my a1c. or do to my back issue. my a1c was at 13 and I reduced it to 5.4 in a 4 month period following keto. however during this period I developed an issue with my l5 s1 that never existed before and developed neuropathy which I did not have before. first in my right foot and leg and then travelled to my left foot and leg. while suffering terrible back pain.
your videos on keto save my life and improved my health . my type 2 diabetes completely under control. and neuropathy has improved but still present. one doctor suggests back surgery the neurologist does suggest it but cannot determine for sure what is causing the issue type 2 or back. rheumatologist has ruled out any autoimmune issue causing my problem.
so please do more videos so I can educate myself further so frustrated with the traditional doctors I have been seeing just wanted to push drugs which I have refused.
    thank you doctor Berry

My PN started in the summer of 2021, nearly a year into keto, as numbness in the toes. I never appreciated how much the toes impact balance because I've had the wobblys, but no pain but haven't fallen. I had a physical in Feb. & my dr. ordered an EMG (a treat that was) and it showed some problems. My keto has been strict for a year and a half, low carb, no grains, never overtly cheated (like had a candy bar or an order of fries). My daily blood sugar has gone up, staying 100-125, after 6 months on keto I got off of 4 high blood pressure meds but in these past few months my BP has gone up to the point where I've had to go back on 2 of them and one, a diuretic, does raise blood sugar. So my keto journey has been a success but also has been a rocky one as well, but it's my lifestyle now.

Low carb really does ease this type of pain. I am 6 months in on keto lifestyle but only took the first few weeks to realise the pain in my neck, head shoulders and back was easing. 3 months in and I started weight training amazing progress as I carrying a shopping bag was painful. This pain and disability started after an accident, no meds helped and thousands spent on physio and chiropractic adjustments to ease the pain. All it took was a change in my diet. I cannot recommend this advice enough.
