If you have those 2 codes p0717 p0700 and tried replacing the speed sensor along with tcm transmission module due to hard shifts shifting 1 and 2 gear try changing your alternator they have diodes regulators that go bad and causes transmission TCM malfunctions..if it works like my video share it thanks

Thank you thank you thank you for making this video. I had the same codes, I watched your video and had the alternator tested. When they tested it they found out that my battery was bad even though it still started the truck and there were no signs of it being bad. I replaced my battery and I have no more codes an no more transmission slipping from first to second gear. I would have never thought that a bad battery or alternator would have caused this unless I saw your video. You rock!

You changed the batterry and alternator or just the batterry which one should we replace
@@eldianmolina4920 get them tested for free at the auto parts store. Then replace the one that is bad.

I have a 2008 chevy silverado lt 1500 5.3 extended cab. I have a code U0100 it doesn't have no power what so ever at all does not change gears when I'm driving. Need help what could it be?

my tbss is throwing the same codes. I blew a transmisson replaced it with a rebuilt 4l70e changed the ISS nothing. This has to be the culprit of my problem

Thank you man my 07 silverado just threw the same codes. I have the same symptons of shifting hard in first to 2nd. I checked the amps that the alternator was dishing out and it was all over the place aometimes as high as 15amps. My mechanic advised me to change it because something is going on with it he said it shouldnt be overcharging like that. So im going to test your theory for $200 bucks minus a $34 core charge for the 145amp alternator im replacing and hopefully it solves my issue

My 07 canyon,0717 says input/ turbine speed sensor circuit A no signal?The dealer said it is an internal sensor in transmission although I see this sensor for sale at auto zone etc and say they bolt on the transmission,If I knew what wires and where to check I would look but get all kinds of different answers.I too have a rebuilt transmission 2 yrs ago,but bought the truck out of state,different owner,no luck for the tranny place that worked on it.One thing I can say is for the most part this canyon shifts fine.I am going to keep driving it till I can't anymore.I can't get answers of location or if it's inside or out? Not just me,I see alot of us with this problem but no answers? Good luck everyone!
@@edwardtasi2905 I feel your pain. Theres way to much info on here and 98% of it is wrong. It's so damn hard to find the 2% that's correct. It's drives you absolutely nuts.
I have PO700 and between 1st and 2nd gear it shifts hard 2011 gmc sierra 1500 4.3l i am thinking its in the transmission pan
07 New Body Style 1500 with the 4l60e Trans. Mild performance Rebuilt 7 months ago with high stall converter. Lost first gear last month with CEL p0756 code. New converter, new clutches , solenoids checked, re-installed and truck was good for 2 weeks. Now, back again with p0756 AND p0700.. Any ideas? Could the alternator be messing with the power and throwing off the TCM causing these phantom codes? I will note that alternator readings are higher.. In 16.8 area..

My transmission stopped shifting into high gears just one day to the next any ideas
I have that problem with my 2013 suburban transmission. I have a buzzing whistle when im up shifting to catch speed and have tried checking everything I can think of like fuses and harnesses and even checking hoses. My tyranny fluid is good and is full. I even put in a new alternator and still runs sluggish. I have 180k plus miles on the suburban so I think I might need a rebuild. What do u guys think. Thanks

@@MecanicoChicago yeah after doing all of the diy's I ended up taking it to a transmission mechanic and it turned out my 456 clutch packs were hanging on by a grain. The previous owner use the truck for some towing and that's how my clutch packs were already shot.
I have an 07 colorado P0717 Shifting hard 1st to 2nd gear then it's fine.Some people are saying speed sensor is internal transmission and others are saying it's bolted outside the transmission?
So I have a 07 GMC Yukon that’s doing the same thing. But my problem is I rebuilt my transmission 4yrs ago so this situation shouldn’t be happening. The others thing is the shop that rebuilt it closedown. I’m not going to pay $3500+ again… I changed my alternator already and this didn’t help so I’m trying to find the speed sensor.

I did this as a last ditch’s effort to avoid pulling the trans. Didn’t work. The alternator was warrenty so no loss there. Ended up pulling the transmission. Speed sensor fixed the issue. 😩😩😩
I have a 07 GMC YUKON does my vehicle have that speed sensor on the transmission like you said because I can’t find it. Can you take a photo and share it please. I already changed my alternator and that didn’t fix the problem. So my next step is the speed sensor.

I have a 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Symptom on it is rpm doesn’t shift it just idles high and it doesn’t go into gear. Mph only at 40. Gonna try the alternator

Samuel Garcia mine was stuck on first gear also. My mechanic changed out the transmission Solenoids and it moved better but now after that 3rd to 4th wouldn’t go in. So took it to Transmission shop to overhaul it completely. Try changing out the Solenoids first

One of them is on the tail shaft of the tranny. The input speed sensor is behind the torque converter behind the pump.

Theres another video where the guy says you take the ground from your speed sensor to the tcm and wire it to a ground on the frame. And that will fix it as well?.

I have a 2011 Sierra 1500 SLE and about once a month it does this thing where I’ll be driving and it feels like it goes from Drive to Neutral repeatedly and the locks will unlock and lock again repeatedly as it’s having this episode and I have to pull over and turn it off for 15-20 seconds and usually after that I can drive it until the next time it does it. Another thing is that it turned on a check engine light to replace the Oil Pressure Sensor, I replaced it and the little screen but 5 days later the exact same check engine light came back up again. Ive tried to look up this issue but haven’t had much lock and I’m not sure where to even start.
I have this issue to but stabilitack light comes on and I get codes p0700, p182e, and p182e-00. Have you found a solution yet?

My 05 chevy silverado z71 is shifting hard on 2nd and 3rd . When I turn it on from Park to reverse it's shifts very hard and when I put it in drive it does the same thing . Put the shift solenoids both of them and another one that's also in the transmission and nothing still doing it. If anybody has any ideas what could it be I would really appreciate it thanks

Motor mounts? The driver side is known for breaking it also causes hard shift from p to r
I have codes P0716 and P0717. I replaced alternator and this did not fix the hard shift. My next step is to replace the speed sensor

It didn't fix mine! Changed alternator and battery. So it's either a short or the tcm itself.

Yes bad battery can cause these problems

This did NOT work for me. I still have both codes p0717 and p0700 on my 2007 tahoe.
Check your PCM wire harness connections. If you had bad motor mounts, the engine torquing can put strain on the harness connections.

Just changed the alternator DID NOTHING....... i had p0700 and p0717
It's torque converter especially when u hear a whining noise. Either soft heard or loud heard. That fixed my problem but I heard torque converter whining also so I narrowed it down

Jesus Espinoza see i had another light also that my knock sensor was bad, so i replaced my knock sensor and apparently the knock sensor sends info to the module and it’s been working fine

I have the same codes and took it to a Transmission shop and they said I needed to replace the Valve body inside the tranny.
Im having the same problem.. Bought 2 speed sensors, changed the input sensor.. Cant find where the output sensor goes. But im going to get an alternator too.. My truck sometimes cuts off while driving..
Anyone have the same exact codes and problems? I am having the same issue and codes on my 2007 tahoe. I'm buying a new alternator tomarrow and I will share if it helps. If not I'm buying a new TCM.

my battery went out 2 weeks ago. 188 bucks later i change it. 2 weeks later now i have your same problem. ima buy a new alternator and see what will fix it. 63k miles on my silverado 2017

@@Realhedgehog no sir it was my transmission solenoid. The dealership changed the whole transmission out. $290 bucks for a down payment to my warranty company. 4750 was what the dealership charged my warranty company
