@@Mr11ESSE111 Clockspeeds alone these days matters very little, its mostly cpu cache and ram subsystem performance. Clockspeeds havent been so important since around core 2 quad and early sandy bridge era where you could gain like 30-50% higher clockspeed through overclocking and games were much more sensitive to single core than they are now. 8700k has much better ram latency than 5700x3d and some games may prefer it, although as you mentioned having extra clockspeed helps a bit too

@@neochannelbenchmark It might well not be throttling. You'll still get gains with undervolting. My 5700X3D (and many others X3D's) won't do 4.1GHz consistently unless you undervolt to -30/40 with PBO2 Tuner, or through the bios.

633x356 resolution might be a bit too extreme of jump from 1920x1080...I could live with 66% for the sake of widening the gap between CPUs, but 33%?! Too much. edit: in the end, the game is till gpu limited even with a very decent gpu.

Both are in their ways. But 1151 hasn't been truly appreciated. 5.2ghz 9900K with 4266cl16 b-die beats 5700x3d in a handful of games, and does so in Stalker 2. Video will be out soon on this channel.

5700x3d is surprisingly unimpressive on this game, 8700k just ~14% slower is definitely not something you usually see when comparing these processors
8700k has 6 cores, 5700x3D has 8 cores.
Coffee Lake is pretty good in this game.

8700k are 25% higher clocked and single core performance are basically same of both and as used 8700k costs as 5700x3d new

You can UV 5700x3d -30 mv to 1.16 to lower temp even more.Its very good chip.Its sad that is locked.
I used -10 mv
No throttling, no point in reducing voltage.

The first test I tried to make so that the GPU was not a bottleneck.
The second test is maximum graphics settings with native resolution.

Just check any well optimized game, not this junk. I checked cyberpunk 2077 for example and noticed a difference 30% and above in favor of 5700x3d
