Lucky freaking loves Luanne, he's so polite and respectful to her. He legit doesn't expect her to do anything for him he just feels lucky to have her. He's not the prettiest person or the smartest but he treats Luanne with all the respect and dignity that she deserves.
He was a genuinely good person, who genuinely loved Luanne and genuinely cared for the Hills. Due to his upbringing and life he led before he met Luanne, he wasn't always the brightest and he was certainly a slacker and a hillbilly, but after becoming part of the main cast he constantly tried to better himself in small ways, and always tried to do right towards his family. I know I'm in the minority, but he quickly because one of my favorite characters in the show. I don't understand the hate for him. Peggy, on the other hand, I very rarely liked. Her antics were sometimes entertaining, but I hated her as a person. Admittedly, during the series' first run, I never really thought "I hate this character" when watching it, since I was simply "watching" it, but as I revisited the series, I really noticed how horrible a person she was (or at least, that was my opinion of her)
peggy's heart was attempting to be in the right place, bc of how fucking rough luanne's life was before she met him, but it took peggy waaay to long to realize that what luanne needed was love and respect from the right guy, rather or not he had a job, which was all wrapped up in lucky. he's a good egg
@@korysoftout219 I agree Lucky could be a good person, and started to shape up as time went on and he started gaining more responsibility like a child, but he wasn't a "genuinely good person". His one claim to fame was basically exploiting the legal system and some business which he was proud of, not producing anything useful to society. He could be remarkably short-signed, narrow-minded, and selfish (of course, that describes a lot of the characters). He sent thugs to extort "wedding gifts" from Kahn and Minh. He's destroyed other people's property (like Hank's lawn). The list goes on. I would characterize Lucky as generally well-intentioned but a flawed person who did improve over time.
On top of that, wouldn’t Peggy get fired and potentially blacklisted if word got out to the school administration about what she did? Not only did she sabotage Lucky out of spite, but her actions could also be seen as blatantly ableist and classist.
To be fair, she did marry Dale. Do you expect her to have good taste in men? Redcorn is hot, but Nancy has been shown to be into really ugly or homely guys lol
Lucky will never become a brain surgeon, but he loves Luanne, and would never be unfaithful or hurt her, or anyone else. Peggy, on the other hand, is petty, dishonest and selfish, and would harm others on a whim- yet she sees Lucky as beneath her.
It'd be nice to see a future KotH episdoe where a Bobby and Luanne are fully adults, Bobby probably runs a hip, awesome restaurant using only propane cookware, and Luanne is CEO of a multi billion dollar corporation, where she's as ditzy as always but instinctively knows how to make everything run great. Hank and Peggy can sit on their porch, slowly rocking in the chairs, and both of them can breathe a sigh of relief and admit that despite all their mistakes, they did a hell of a job raising two kids.
@@flext-rex8284 @ Meria Martell88 Well, among the regular cast, she is one of the only ones that is college educated at all, as far as I remember. She thinks she's smarter than she actually is, but she is severely lacking in self-awareness and common sense, two common traits of, yes, narcissism. She often needs very simple and obvious things spelled out to her, and she lacks any real ability to be introspective to any degree.
Out of every dude in the show Luann was with, lucky was absolutely the biggest gem. Never judge a book by its cover always judge it by the way it treats other people and he treats Luann like a queen
@@St33lStrife Emotion isn't the inverse of logic, it's a component of it. This is why some closed off men struggle to make logically sound decisions when it comes to relationships. They may fail to resonate with their partners on an emotional level, or understand personal motivations or perspectives that would allow for more informed and useful decisions involving friends or family. Besides, men are plenty emotional. Anger and protectiveness are traditionally masculine and are just as much emotional as sadness and worry, which are traditionally seen as feminine.
Props to Hank for supporting Luanne sincerely, even if he said "best of the worst situation" he always put Luanne happiness over Peggy's insane ramblings, is funny that he seems to care more about her than her own closest family
It's funny if you also consider he's the most conservative second only to Cotton. Yet he's extremely tolerant of *almost anything. Yeah he will stand firm on his beliefs and voice them, but he would never really go out of his way to hammer a point in like Peggy or Cotton.
@@thatoneannoyingtornadosire8755 Ultimately Hank doesn't want to impose his way of life onto anyone, at least not forcibly. He will openly disagree if he thinks something is a bad idea or it doesn't float with his moral structure but most of the time he'll go along with it anyways, especially if its a company policy or civil legislature.
The whole retaking the GED really annoyed me. Even if Lucky and Luanne thought you could only take it once, why not just have Peggy tell him you can retake it and have him pass it? That was so stupid to go the shotgun wedding route.
It's mainly because of Peggy's lies. Lucky wholeheartedly believed her. And the fact that he was willing to trust Peggy with education because she's a teacher is more disgusting. The fact that she deliberately sabotage and did all the stuff to a person who genuinely wants to be better out of vindictive spite is deplorable disgusting and wicked
From Lucky's point of view, he tried his hardest to pass and still failed. He doesn't see passing as a possibility. Should Lucky keep going and try again? As the audience we know that he was sabotaged; we see his studying as a montage of scenes, and most of us are high school graduates and realize how low a bar high school graduation is, but to Lucky he has hours of work ahead of him if he chooses to study and he already failed twice (once in actual school and once on his GED). I mean, I think that everyone has the experience of finding out that some dreams aren't going to come true, and Lucky is probably at that point regarding his GED.
Honestly, hate the guy if you want, but at least he wanted to have some form of education, and asked peggy for help, and lucky wasnt a bad guy, sure like to get easy money, but as we see he truly does love luanne, and wants the best for her
as far as I recall, wasn't Lucky a Responsible Layabout? that's alot better than some quote 'responsible' people we've known in our lives. Jesus H. Christ Peggy
Theres some things I believe should go without morals, money is one of them (of course not all methods of making money are ok for sure) I'll just say who DOESN'T want easy money? To get anywhere in life you have to cheat.
Some people view Luann's marriage to lucky and moving into a trailer park to be her returning to the life she tried to run away from. To me it's her triumphing over her painful past and realising that as long as she is with people she love and who love her in kind, she is home.
I kinda wish the whole pregnancy thing hasn't happened. It would have been better to have Peggy feel bad because she realized Luanne was happy with Lucky, without the pregnancy reveal basically forcing her to make things right.
I think the implication is that without the pregnancy Peggy wouldn’t have spoken up. Ignoring Luanne’s feelings because she “know best” is not a new behavior.
@@jonathanthomas4327 Yeah, that's the problem. They have that scene of Peggy feeling guilt after seeing how devastated she is, but I can't see it as genuine because it seems like only the pregnancy thing bothers her.
@@matti.8465 problem is that Peggy...rarely feels guilty. that's the problem with narcissists, they rarely admit they are wrong and feel little guilt over anything.
As others pointed out, the problem with Peggy is that the story essentially has to *force* her to do the right thing, even when she openly hates and reviles that thing. If left to come to terms on her own, she never does because she can only see things from her eternal "I know what's best because I'm the smartest person in the room" personality. It sucks that they went the ham-fisted pregnancy route, but it was either that or nothing since Peggy would have never told him the test was not a one chance deal.
@@ForeverLaxx Yeah, without the pregnancy angle Peggy doing the right thing would've actually been uncharacteristic of her and would've left viewers - or, at least, certainly me who grew up watching the show - confused.
Honestly, compared to all of Luanne's ex boyfriends who were rich or handsome (or Buckley), Lucky is the best one. He truly loves Luanne and wants to take care of her.
He’s even a decent dad compared to how he could have been. He and Luanne both were preparing to be good parents, went through classes, changed some of their habits, just trying like any other couple. When Luanne was off with her sock puppets, Lucky stepped up and wasn’t too insecure to ask for help from Hank. “I’m just gonna say it: I got a rolling baby” Honestly, besides the lack of stable job or work, he’s a pretty good catch for any lady.
I enjoy how Nancy and John do what can objectively be called one of the more fucked up things in KotH, but Peggy's constant "I'm the smartest in the room" behavior and superior attitude makes her that much less likeable.
Yeah it’s like, ok it might not be “Lawful Good/Neutral” levels of a literal code of honor but everyone does have some things they value and live by whether consciously or subconsciously
"These things are designed so even a high school dropout can pass the test!" This coming from a substitute spanish teacher, who's main means of learning spanish is watching daytime Telemundo. I'm pretty sure the only qualification for being a sub is a high school diploma, anyway.
Peggy being put off by Lucky reminds me of Jane Austen's Emma. It's hard for Peggy to accept her own shortcomings and she's insecure in her own selfhood. Due to that, she projects herself onto Luanne and thinks that Lucky isn't good enough for her, just like the character Emma.
yeah the show did a p good job imo of emphasizing peggys connection to luane and how peggy sees her as a daughter figure to imprint on/see herself in like how hank does with bobby (and is p common in a parent child relationship) and the eps where that relationship is messed with somehow are some of my faves
Peggy is just one of those people that gets intimidated when someone who's doing not as well as her but is genuinely content with how they are and actively tries to sabotage them to feel better about herself
@@luffyduffy7817 yeah that was it wasn’t it? mine was portrait of a lady on fire. emma was next on my list and then bam! virus spread to US. i really enjoyed it though. the cinematography was very beautiful.
"The only way he'd marry Luanne is if was held at gunpoint and they beat him up" Me: haha that's super silly of course they didn't go that rou- "So they held him at gunpoint and beat him up" Me: *WHAT*
Lucky explained his father and grandfather, and so on also failed to achieve their marriage goal, but were still married via a "shotgun marriage." He them explains the process, and they go through with it, including having them kick him in the stomach (hank is reluctant, Peggy more than willing).
I think the show is self-aware that Peggy and Hank can be so narcissistic how their family “looks” rather than accept how they are and properly love them.
Real people are like that tho. A huge number of families couldn't give a fuck less if they make their kids or relatives hate themselves so long as they remain in good social standing among others. People really got it ass backwards nowadays
He's also implied multiple times that he could just repeat the injury somewhere else and get another settlement. He may genuinely care about Luanne, but he really has no intention of making an honest dollar.

@@kitty79532 If this is in reference to the GED, he only went for it because he made a promise to get one before he got married. Peggy, of course, ruined that goal because she thought he wouldn't marry without one but he went through it anyway. The claim of getting a job was to assuage what he thought was Peggy's biggest reason for not liking him but I doubt he intended to follow through. There were multiple scenes of him trying to get more insurance settlements and even trying to get Luanne to practice slipping on cups of water they brought into the store themselves to scam the business. He found his "meal ticket" and intended to keep that train rolling.
Not everybody. It was only the drag queens, and that was because she was at a drag queen store. Plus, by the end of the episode, she learns to accept herself.
Lucky is like Dale. He's a bit cooky but he absolutely loves the woman he's with and would do anything for her. He's a good man and does everything he can for Louane
In this episode, Peggy was not only closed minded and controlling. She was mean. Who is she to say whose better than who. Lucky genuinely loves and respects Louanne. And I would think that Peggy would be open minded after seeing for herself that some of the richer and more sophisticated guys Louanne, or even she, met turned out to be creeps.
@@AndreNDP Luanne may not be bright, but she is kind, she keeps trying new things and she is a survivor. She deserves a person who loves and respects. Nobody deserves to be with a bad person just because they aren't smart.

If anything, I think what would be a good character development is having Hank call her out on it, or Bobby of all people, her own son. Either would hit her massively over inflated yet extremely fragile ego where it hurts the most, causing her to either go into full denial or go into a depression which she would have to work herself out of. That or she should have died in the skydiving accident, it would have been more of a character development for Hank and Bobby, especially Hank considering the potential idea of marrying a new woman.

@@allegedcombustion9014 Yeah, but that's not the only reason. John Redcorn views himself as a victim while having limited awareness of the impact of his behavior on others. To some degree he probably has been truly victimized due to racism, but he deals with it in an unhealthy way, and that needs to be acknowledged. Peggy can't admit when she is wrong, can't admit to her own limitations, and does things "for other people's own good" which only further her agenda without truly taking the other person's needs into account. This makes me wonder if Peggy doesnt feel ultimately unhappy with hank and thinks she could have done better and thus projects that all into Luane and Lucky.
I never saw this episode but hearing Lucky say getting his GED would make him good enough for Luanne was so sweet and just made me so much angrier at Peggy. That's pretty low.
So does anyone else remember that episode of King of the Hill where their friends and neighbors give them grief because they have an old woman arrested after she breaks into their house because she wants to die there?
"She can do better!" Yeah, being a trophy wife, maybe. But in all honesty, no, Luanne cannot do better. She was lucky enough to get a guy who actually wanted to better himself at all.
Luanne saved her extended family from nicotine addition because she didnt want them to turn into junkies like her immediate family. She's ditzy but knows when to put her foot down. Shes not perfect, i wish they did more with her and had an arc where she bacame professional mechanic but she's a good character and a good women.
@@guilhermehank4938 I think they were rather developed later in the show. But it was used more of a throw away joke at that point.
I'd like to see a Buck video, as well. Buck is even worse than Peggy; he's a cheating adulterer, a dirty old man who hits on Luanne, a deadbeat dad, and he can be really vulgar and disgusting. He's also cruel to most of his employees.
Lucky’s love for Luanne aside, Lucky is also the only love interest of Luanne’s that’s nice to Bobby. It’s always bothered me that NOBODY on the show acknowledges that. That should have been something Hank mentions as a good quality of Lucky’s.
Oh, but she's done worse! There was that time she sabotaged Hank, her own husband, when he was substituting for shop class. No good intentions this time. She did it because he was set to win an award that she was after,.
She didn't sabotage him, he was fired because of an unrelated but idiotic law that made his teaching methods intolerable. She _did_ try to build herself up before that, and after the firing tried to use him as a springboard for popularity.
She sabotaged Bobby's dinner because she was jealous that her son could cook and sew better than she could. Literally not even proud of her own child's accomplishments.
@@TheGuyInTheCheapSeats ...What makes you say that? @@balanc-joy9187 I don't think it's a coincidence that right before Hank gets in trouble for banned materials, Peggy's fuming that Hank might get the teacher of the year award instead of her.
I'd love to see a Buck Strickland video. Buck comes up a lot in peoples' "worst" lists, and there are many points where he's almost on par with Redcorn. He cheated on his wife, he's a deadbeat dad, he abandoned Bobby in a dark alleyway while he was gambling, and he's interfered in multiple relationships for Hank, with Bobby, Cotton and Luanne. And don't even get me started on the constant hitting on Luanne and the marriage proposal thing to her when he's old enough to be her grandfather. Redcorn's a douche, but not a pervert. I'm kind of torn between Buck and Redcorn as who is the worst character; Peggy can be awful at times, but there are implications that she had a bad childhood and mental issues that may be contributing to this, and she'll do the right thing once she realizes that she's made a mistake. Redcorn and Buck are just too selfish. The one time that Buck realizes that he's harmed Hank's reputation and tries to save him, somebody else has to remind him, and John Redcorn is deplorable for having multiple love children that he's abandoned throughout Arlen, with no concern for how this will affect them as he tries to worm his way back into their lives.
Don't forget Buck tried to, and got away with trying to, frame Hank for murder to protect his wife in "High Anxiety" Also, from what I understand, John Redcorn didn't really abandon Joseph or Kate (the only two love children shown and known about) so much as just not know about Kate's existence and with Joseph the implication seems to be he just let Nancy and Dale raise Joseph, while remaining an unofficial part of his life. Not to say I don't get why people don't like him, I personally just don't care much because I see his whole existence as one long joke based around Dale's paranoia and the irony of him having a cheating wife. That, and Redcorn's ending of the relationship because he grew to respect Dale made me cut him _some_ slack, though his later behavior does muddy it quite a lot, such as "Spin The Choice" (though much later seasons I just ignore, since they outright ignore continuity, like the episode where Nancy loses her hair).
@@balanc-joy9187 That's true; there was at least a bit of character growth for Redcorn. Buck, not really. Redcorn grows up a lot after "Spin the Choice" (until the Big Mountain Fudgecake stuff and the rekindled affair), whereas Buck never changes much. The only reason he patches things up with Miss Liz is that the people around them lead to it, and immediately in the same episode, Buck tries to frame Hank and Miss Liz for murder. I was under the impression that Redcorn had more than two children, but I could be wrong. I remember episodes where he was implied to have slept with groupies, and the "Harlottown" episode where he's implied to have been a porn actor, but looking back on it, I can't remember any other pregnancies being implied that he fathered, except for Kate. I might be confusing him with Buck and Ray-Roy.
@@JarethTheGoblinKingForever You _definitely_ need to re-watch the show. Redcorn is _never_ shown to have slept with groupies (he just worked as a roadie for a band, and Big Mountain Fudgecake never took off), or have been a porn actor. As for Buck, he framed _Hank_ for murder to _protect_ Miz Liz, not himself, in fact, he was willing to go to jail himself to protect her once the frame-up didn't work. Of course, he was mistaken that Miz Liz did it in the first place, since Debbie accidentally killed herself, but still.
@@balanc-joy9187 I don't know... I was under the impression that in "Harlottown", when Redcorn is dressed up in a tuxedo and says he has a "gala" to attend that Hank interrupts, it was implying that he had either acted in porn when he was younger, or that he had worked in the industry somehow. The only people attending the Adult Video Awards who are dressed up fancy are the ones receiving the awards. As for Buck, he did frame Hank, and then later we see him and the sheriff pointing the finger quickly at various other parties, including Miss Liz, only to find out from the texas ranger that Debbie's death was in fact just an accident. Buck goes all the way in framing Hank, planting evidence and recording phrases that make Hank sound like the murderer.
@@JarethTheGoblinKingForever That seems pretty flimsy reasoning to me to assume Redcorn was heading to the Adult Video Awards, especially since he sees the actors in their car and immediately chooses to take Bobby. If he was involved somehow, wouldn't he say something or react differently then just cancel whatever plans he had once he understood some of what was going on? That, and he would've probably just said it, since everybody else didn't really hide or shy away from going. It didn't seem like to me he was even going there, since he would've probably just said it if he was, or been shown to be expected there. Just saying you could be right, but there isn't much to support that impression that sounds convincing to me. As for "High Anxiety", again, you _really_ need to watch the episode again. The Sheriff does point the finger at Buck, then Miz Liz, then Buck falsely confesses to the murder to protect her. Buck only accuses Hank, with all of the things that you mention, and foolishly confesses that he "put the nametag in the bushes" and asks if they "got the tape", in order to try and push that Hank did it. I was always under the impression that Peggy was psychologically a narcissist, with feelings of inadequacy stemming from her mother's mental abuse and her own insecurities about her physical looks and her intellect, in which case, Peggy is never going to change. She can't admit that she's wrong without trying to downplay it to a minor mistake. In her mind, she's always right. I always thought it would've been interesting if they'd actually done an episode where Peggy has to see a therapist to address these things, but the closest they ever got to addressing Peggy's mental problems were episodes like "A Rover Runs Through It" and "Peggy's Pageant Fever". I'm conflicted between hating Peggy and feeling sorry for her. She's pretentious and spiteful, but at the same time pathetic and desperate. It's interesting how a cartoon character can be so human; the flaws make them more relatable. I enjoy your take on this episode (I'm normally Pro Peggy but this was executed poorly even with her best intentions) and it made me reassess my annoyances with Lucky. He's part of a trend where writers like a character(Tom Petty said he would come back anytime) and try to justify their inclusion into random plots for no reason by pairing them with teenaged, barely young adult women as a love interest (Haley from American Dad and the Reginald Saga for example). The character canon wise is 38, so as old as Hank and Peggy and possibly Luanne's Father. He does have a lot of negative qualities, despite his "code" tends to mooch off and take stuff from the Hills without asking after the marriage so he doesn't have to pay for stuff but claims he thought it was OK because their family . But this episode focuses on his attempts to improve his life, even if Luanne is the offscreen plot device inspiration, and he does deserve not to be backstabbed. He also started becoming "The 5th Alley Guy " in later seasons since at least Dale liked him. I think Lucky and Luanne fully believed that you can only attempt to get your GED once. I also believe Lucky and Luanne conceived their child in the Hill home and that was never remarked on. I would love to see you review the first episode that Lucky and Luanne get together, since Peggy was in full Mama Bear mode to protect Luanne from Lucky once she realized he was interested in her and dropping by/ nonchalantly vandalizing the house while Luanne's at work/during date nights in the driveway. He also encouraged Luanne to fight Peggy prison style if she doesn't let them date and Luanne was about to do it with a straight face because "He reminds her of the trailer park people she grew up around" i.e. he reminds her of the dysfunctional life she was running from when she came to stay with the Hills. She had anxiety about even living in a trailer in season 2, and was generally on a more independent path in seasons 2 through 5. I blame the writers, but if Lucky was a drop by character for project stuff I feel like he would be better suited to the cast. More or less, Luanne is the main breadwinner with the Manger Babies and hairstyling. They end up buying a house on Rainey Street with Hank's mentorship about Lucky's last $5,000 so they're stable and have a support system. Lucky more or less survives on settlements and does whatever he wants all day, but I can see him being a devoted stay at home dad to Gracie. And he does make Luanne happy and is supportive so he's not all bad.
Unfortunately, Tom Petty and the VA for Luanne are dead and have been for awhile now. So if they came back as the characters Lucky and Luanne they would need an entire recasting.
@@blacksesamecandies Unfortunately Rip for Tom Petty and Brittany Murphy. I guess I meant that instead of including Lucky into the cast as a love interest to Luanne, it would be fun to see him slowly become friends with the Alley guys by working on projects or getting into hijinks.
I'm sorry but I don't believe Lucky was trying to better himself. He was getting a GED not to get a better job, enter college, or find a career path. He got it specifically to marry Luan. The issues Lucky has still exists because he had no prospects outside of getting a GED. He's still dependent on suing people to get his money. He's still lazy. He's still has no future. The fact that he never bothered to go get his GED even after the shotgun wedding is proof that it was never about wanting to better himself. You want to give food to the homeless. Then you stop after giving 1 french fry (singular) to 1 homeless person. No one's going to say that you wanted to better society.
What people don't understand about the traditional family unit is that it's the optimal way to raise kids, of course it goes out the window if the parents suck but it is still better to have 2 parents
i always thought that scene where luanne is cleaning luckys truck was just so darn sweet like he never asked her or expected her to do that its just her showing her love and it makes her happy and lucky just wants luanne to be happy
I usually hated Peggy throughout the series, simply because she was so frequently smug. She has similar values as Hank, but he never sees himself as better than others simply for his values. That said, there is one episode I love Peggy in. "Cotton's Plot" is up there as one of my favorite episodes of the entire show. The mutual disdain between Peggy and Cotton, and the mutual respect for each other at the end is nearly perfect.
@@korysoftout219
I agree Lucky could be a good person, and started to shape up as time went on and he started gaining more responsibility like a child, but he wasn't a "genuinely good person".
He treats Luanne a heck of a lot better than her died ex boyfriend.

Peggy is a pretty remarkable character considering where she cam from.
She is a worse person than Cotton or Nancy in someways and less likeable.
Hank and Peggy are a inversion of the normal sitcom married couple.
Hank is wise and calm (mostly) while Peggy is impulsive and emotional

Yeah, AKA real life. Psychologically speaking, women tend to be more emotional and men tend to be more logical
And that's why i love king of the hill. Its accurate to life in most of women's flaws in relation to men's flaws.
@@St33lStrife Well, psychologically speaking, bababooey

Eh, the writers probably thought the way they went would be funnier. I personally find the episode boring.

She grew up in an awful home but managed to become a good mother and break multple cycles of abuse. Shes not perfect, i wish they did more with her and had an arc where she bacame professional mechanic but she's a good character and a good women.
@@guilhermehank4938 I think they were rather developed later in the show. I think I remember an episode in an early season where the guys are trying to figure out a problem with Hank's truck, and Luanne wanders over and just matter-of-factly tells them the solution. But it was used more of a throw away joke at that point.
Probably Peggys lowest point there. Excellent examination. Perhaps an episode featuring Buck next?
I'd like to see a Buck video, as well. Buck is even worse than Peggy; he's a cheating adulterer, a dirty old man who hits on Luanne, a deadbeat dad, and he can be really vulgar and disgusting. He's also cruel to most of his employees.
@@JarethTheGoblinKingForever
Buck is upfront with his faults and doesn't excuse them. Peggy often doubles down on her stupidity and doesn't learn.

Oh lord, some far left anti religion dude will probably be in charge of the show.
I hope not. If Hank Hill is an NPC I'm killing myself.
Lucky’s love for Luanne aside, Lucky is also the only love interest of Luanne’s that’s nice to Bobby. It’s always bothered me that NOBODY on the show acknowledges that. That should have been something Hank mentions as a good quality of Lucky’s.
Im conservative and appreciate sbady for being neutral on this when so many would go on an anti conservative rant.

@@balanc-joy9187 I say that episode had something cut out.
@@TheGuyInTheCheapSeats ...What makes you say that? I wouldn't be surprised that there was _something_ cut out, as most if not all episodes do as they are made (unfortunately that episode was after they _stopped_ giving bonus features on the DVDs *grrrr* ) but anything in particular indicate that they cut out anything to you?
Don't forget Buck tried to, and got away with trying to, frame Hank for murder to protect his wife in "High Anxiety"
Also, from what I understand, John Redcorn didn't really abandon Joseph or Kate (the only two love children shown and known about) so much as just not know about Kate's existence and with Joseph the implication seems to be he just let Nancy and Dale raise Joseph, while remaining an unofficial part of his life.
Thankfully, I found a video here that shows most of Buck's confession, though it starts after he first tries to accuse Hank-th-cam.com/video/z88Q9j6TdD8/w-d-xo.html

His lawyer is indeed a crook. They reveal this in the episode where he and Luanne get married.
This oddly helped me through one of my own problems I'm having with supporting a friend that I feel is making a bad decision.
I wouldn’t outright ignore it. Best thing to do is talk to your friend and lay out the pros and cons.
Well I failed to help my best friend. I did everything I could to prevent him from being in a toxic relationship but he cast me aside and did everything he could to treat me like trash. She's literally screwing him over but he doesn't want to acknowledge it.
While I might agree with John being a worse person for his flaws, I hate Peggy more due to the fact that at least John does get punished by not being allowed to raise Joseph without taking even more consequences. Peggy is never punished for her flaws and never grows as a character. The fact that she never has to take accountability for any issues caused by her flaws is why I hate her more. At least John has to accept that he can't raise Joseph without taking accountability. Peggy saying "Yeah yeah yeah..." is disregarding any accountability for ruining both Lucky and Luanne's life, and doesn't get punished for it. Sorry for the rant, it just gets me the same amount as John does to you Shady.
As much as none of us want to admit it, we've probably all had a "Peggy" moment where we behaved or thought like she did.

Only reason he comes around is realizing how much he loves Joseph and the idea aliens abducted him and impregnated Nancy that way…….. Dale is quite a character.

what kind of backlash/consequences did you want? prison, revoking her ability to teach, force Peggy to divorce Hank to marry Lucky?
they're already ahead of the curve by having her realize she was wrong... that doesn't usually happen.
Lucky still married Luanne: the outcome she didn't want. Lucky now believes Peggy support the marriage and will be uncomfortably close to the Hills because of that belief. she was lightly punished in a creative way.

Every time I watch the first part of the Episode where Peggy Jumps out of a plane and her parachute doesn't open, I always tell myself that was the series finale and everything else is non-canon XD
I always enjoy your analysis on characters and plot by plot progressions of characters.
@@138veronica It’s so sad
I'm sorry but I don't believe Lucky was trying to better himself. He was getting a GED not to get a better job, enter college, or find a career path. He got it specifically to marry Luan. The issues Lucky has still exists because he had no prospects outside of getting a GED. He's still dependent on suing people to get his money. He's still lazy. He's still has no future. The fact that he never bothered to go get his GED even after the shotgun wedding is proof that it was never about wanting to better himself.

I like how Hank supported lucky and luanne getting married because he knew Lucky was a good guy.
