You can get a Teflon foot for your machine and vinyl will glide through . Great use of repurposing things.
New to cross stitch and my intentions are to learn as much as I can watching floss tubes and stitching away. I also lucked out and found a cross stitch bundle of fabric, floss and patterns at my local thrift store.
We all have good intentions, but you are actually playing them out by doing the Flosstube! Love your design. I bet by the time your daughter is old enough to hold a needle, you will be designing patterns for those magazines! I am happy for you even if these was not your intentions....Great job.

I like that you can find soo much beautiful Cross stitch stuff in your thrift shop. I really need to look near me if I can find a thrift store. Can't wait to see more progress, love your videos.

So many out there state that they don't like bobbins for their floss because it makes kinks in the thread. I have thread on bobbins for years and not kinks. To avoid kinks don't put the thread on the bobbin to tight.

I can't believe how cute your own design is. I will be stitching it soon. I have my free ornaments on my Instagram. I did a series of primitive style Christmas ornaments. I know what an honor it is when someone stitches them.

They have small wooden letters at dollar tree you could get those and stain the letters and make a word or words like home or what ever you want. Fo is finished and ffo fully finished object. You’re doing a great job at trying new things. It will pay off in the end. When you get my age you will have sew much knowledge and won’t be long you’ll be teaching

I am one of those stitchers that took almost a 40 yr break from stitching (mainly Hardanger and Embroidery) and decided about a year ago to give cross stitch another try ( I wasn't very successful before). What was fun for me was digging out my box of supplies that I had kept all these years and looking at the fabrics and Wips that I still had in my possession and what the prices were back in the 80's. I believe the cost for DMC thread was 10 for $1.00. No one should call it Craft Hoarding, I call it Nostalgic Stitching because who knows in 30-40 years when those items will come in handy. Love that you go to Thrift stores for materials, I think it makes a person more creative and think outside the box on how to use a treasure that was found at a thrift store. I am looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks for reviving my creative juices.

Do you! That's my best advice! If you enjoy it plain, then leave the row houses as is! They stand on their own! Merry is so very pretty. Dying fabric is so much fun! And yes, I'm one of those who took a hiatus from cross stitching but I am always involved in crafting something!

You can, and should, add “recycler” to your self description. Yay for the environment that you are reusing all those materials for your crafts. You are giving things a new life and keeping them out of the landfill!

I had no intentions of getting back into cross stitching so I was sorting through all my cross stitch kits to get rid of them, yet here I am watching floss tube, kiting up a temperature tree pattern for next year. 😂 looking at Pinterest patterns someone tell me I don’t need anymore patterns I have patterns from the 80s.
I keep all my floss on bobbins also. Never had any problems. I like the fact that you get most of your haul from thrift stores. I have good intentions to do that more in the future.

My favorite parts are the little pumpkins scattered around. My opinion about the cross stitch from your daughter's room is that it is perfect plain. The wood is simple and the pattern is sweet. I wouldn't change a thing! Also, your Merry project is fabulous! The green is perfect!!!

I taught myself to cross stitch in 1977 while in nursing school! I hav been away from stitching for the pat 10+ years! Thanks to my son’s fiancée and floss tube I have received a new kit to resume the practice!!

Your design is adorable. Been to St Joes many times, my son and family lived in Niles. On the little wooden picture frame. What time of year do you believe the little city scape is? You could just stencil or draw the word fall, summer or whichever. And use it year around or a seasonal piece.

I think it's fantastic that you find well known designers' charts at your Goodwill. Since returning to cross-stitch, my good intentions to get things done around the house have gone by the wayside because I just want to stitch.
