I found your confusion and uncertainty with the CAM software to be adorable and relatable, because I'm pretty sure I felt the same thing. I never got passed stage two, though, so I think your case is smarter than mine :C

Hello Dmitry, I just bought the NZXT H700i Black/Red case and I love it! It's a bit on the pricey side but I am okay with it. I had to get used to the CAM software because of the error message I got when it was trying to do step three. I finally got it to work this weekend and it's all good. I was amazed on how easy the cable management is with this case. I plan to build my new computer with this case. I temporarily used my old system parts in this case to sell my old full tower case. I must say motherboards that is older than five years by EVGA would have a issue with the cable connections. But since this is temporary so I will just go with the small issues. Thanks for a great full review of this case I am very happy with it.

I do not think they will release a H700D where D stands for "Dumb" because that's something only Steve from GamersNexus finds hilarious, but like a H700s for simple or H700B for barebones. The best would be just H700x because corsair uses "x" to signify a PSU that does not have link included.

Privet, Dima. I got this case and built in it last weekend. It was easy to build in, and I really like how RGB looks in it. also note that I got an extra RGB strip to attache to the additional RGB cable. It was in the box tucked into one of the hard drive bays. I found CAM a bit perplexing. Trying to find the correct environment to make the calibration advance was difficult, but I did get through it. One thing I did notice was that the device is sensitive to noise. If you run the calibration and tap on your case, you will see the graph jump... so your case is listening to you.
Since I built mine after both you, Gamer's Nexus and Science Studio YT put out reviews of the case, i bought extension to run under the shroud. This makes a big difference and works well.
Thank you for your review. It's a pricey case, but it's very good. Spacibo.

I bought the h700i, Kraken x62, and Aer RGB fans. The case is solid and well designed, but my experience with NZXT so far has made me view them as the EA of PC hardware manufacturers.
Like I said, the h700i is great. It's made well and it has a lot of great features to make it a great case to build in. If the sold just the case for $100-$120 it would be an amazing case. The smart device is basically a crippled Hue+ with features you aren't ever going to use. Plus, it only has 1 RGB channel, and that channel is used by the LED strip. If you get Aer RGB fans you can't use the strip since they use different connectors for some reason. So if you want to use the included LED strip and their own brand of RGB fans you basically need to toss the smart device they forced you to buy and buy the Hue+. Plus between the Kraken, Smart device, and front USB ports you need 3 usb2 headers to control them all. That's motherboard headers, not USB ports. Barely any motherboards have more than 2 of these headers and my Crosshair VI Hero (high end X370 board) has only 1. So you would also have to buy another device that NZXT sells, their USB2 header splitter. It all feels like DLC, and it all feels planned. They could have put a USB header on the smart device to plug in the Kraken.
3 fans, case, kraken x62, usb header splitter. NZXT wants $400+ of your money for their aesthetic. Then there is the CAM software...

The usb hub didn't cost that much. If you can't afford one you don't belong building pcs. Always do research if you need the hub or not before you build. It was well worth getting the hub.

No offense, but I agree with Gamers Nexus here. The "Smart Device" included in the H700i is a really pointless edition that may not work 100% of the time and only goes to making the chassis more expensive. Almost everything else about the H700i (minus that ridiculous cable management bar. The S340 does a better job) is rather good but for $200 there are certainly better cases out there (and many that are much cheaper).

I have been using cams software since 2017 and have yet to bump in to any issues.
The aesthetic, cable management, radiator panel, and use of cams are what got me to switch my case.
I got the newer version of this case, the h710i.
Just finished the swap last night and it looks so much better than my corsair case.

You are truly the go-to guy for case reviews aka Case Review God or CRGod. You really should consider designing one. When you do not have enough USB headers on the motherboard, it is possible to run a standard USB cable from the AIO to one of the external USB port connection on the back of the motherboard. This was my workaround.

I don't think the smart part is necessary as a whole for noise or thermals. But it could be helpful in determining airflow configuration. And what I mean by that is that it can find out which fans are most effective and/or necessary. Even then I think that part should be sold as a separate product so that you can use it on multiple cases. You could then include a microphone system to more accurately determine noise levels. And it would decrease the cost of the case as it wouldn't be included.

I'm currently rebuilding my fully watercooled tower in the H700i. I already took out the "smart hub" and stole it's fan splitters. There is potential in this thing for watercooling, but man it disappoints me to see how awful the restriction on the top will be if I decide to put the second 360mm rad up there. You have to flip the fan mount so that the top of the case is maybe half an inch at most off the bracket. That would be absolutely horrible for airflow. I'm really leaning towards not future-proofing for SLI and just running the 360mm on the front by itself.

I feel like NZXT might start a trend(as they always do) with "smart" cases that can handle all the rgb, cpu and gpu temps and I believe (and hope) that it will become a standard in the PC case industry.

  • @solara2966
    @solara2966 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Nzxt did something smart with the radiator portion, allowing more air, that was one of the bad things when it came to the S340/S340 Elite. Not feeling the price nor the 'smart' gimmicks. Most buy their own hubs so it'll be redundant in this case. I like that it kept the S340 feel though, I like that case.

  • @PrivateCustard
    @PrivateCustard 6 ปีที่แล้ว

I don't care that it's expensive. It's currently the best looking case on the market.....and style rarely comes cheap! If the cable management bar gets in the way, just cable-comb your 24-pin and route it over the top of the bar. It looks decent, and breaks up the big red (in my case) vertical slab.
It was a pain in the arse to build in at times, and I had to come up with an alternative fan solution, as the smart device won't spin up 3x Corsair ML120's from one three-way splitter, so they're on a MB header. But, contrary to other reports, I actually like the CAM software. I'm not using the smart bit though, just custom curves to help maintain positive air pressure. If CAM had motherboard header fan control functionality, it'd be perfect for me.

I prefer setting up fan speed to stay cool enough under almost all load i throw at it, which may be a little bit louder then it needs to be at idle. having your system go from quite to decently loud under load is a lot more noticeable to me then a consistent fan speed.

Here's what I think: it was a good idea, but ended up not being reasonable. Custom or preset fan profiles are much faster to create, with same results. We need a H700d (dumb, taken from GN), without anything but the case, which IS very sweet.

It looks like they are going though the fans one by one in the testing to see what the best cooling performance is for each and setting it accordingly. I would love to have it for my full water cooled rig.. This gives you optimal ran settings for keeping the system coolest with as minimal fan speeds as they can be. Fan by fan. I have noticed it in my rig as I'm tuning it pretty much the same way.
I would love to hear one of the devs explain it in detail..

Great video. One of the reasons I bought my H700i... I noticed that your radiator fans are pulling air from the case and pushing it out. Any reason for this? Would it not be better to pull fresh air into the case and have the exhaust pull the hot air out?

Man why all this trouble with controllers. Just blast the air from all sides into the case, have an exhaust fan and your all done. Monitor the temps of your cpu and MB through the MB and that's it. Use
be quiet PWN high flow fans or Nachtua PWN fans and be done with it. For RGB I prefer strips to give a soft light to the case. That's my thoughts. I personally like the Lian Li 011 Dynamic and Dynamic XL.

lol two-three intake fans in a decently ventilated front, what do you need adaptive fans for, you can really run the cpu fan at a constant speed, and let the gpu use its stock curve, as they both have good flow.

I have the S340, The only reason I'm looking at this case is for the 360 rad options. Other than that its an 340 with a bunch of useless stuff

I think the idea of adaptive learning is interesting, but it doesn't amount to much. Does it really matter if you can reduce noise by 2 decibels at idle? Especially if it takes 30 minutes of your time for the software to do it's thing.
Now, an integrated fan/rgb hub without all the adaptive and smart learning stuff would be what I would want in a case like that.

The price for the 700i isn't too bad considering if you get the s340 or the h440 you'd need to replace the awful cheap fans they give you as standard compared to the decent ones in this case.

So basically.....tear out the smart device, tear out the cable management bracket, drop price to around $150, and you have a contender for case of the year.
Edit: Might as well tear out the case RGB led strips as well, since you have to install always online software and create an account to use them.
Otherwise, the best case I've seen this year, so far.

Everyone is saying the same thing: Release a version with no "smart device" for $120 to $150 and it'll beat every case at that price. Design and cable management are above most cases out there but charging a price premium for features that only a smaller percentage of users will fully take advantage of is absurd. SOme cases even include an RGB hub or a fan controller for free as they don't add a high premium.

they put a microphone in the case thats how they determine the noise level

I miss your old style of reviews, before you started doing these pre baked ads into your videos. You're the reason I purchased the Arc MIdi R2 back in 2012 and felt you had much more informative reviews back then. Now it seems you're afraid to criticize the products you receive.

    The Crystal 570X is better…
For looks, cooling but not so good cable management (but both are way better than traditional cases); better use CableMod cables in the 570X
