I don't know why but I stumbled on this video by chance. I have this exact generation Camry with this exact engine (though mine is a sedan). It's absolutely bullet proof and I love it to death. I can't say enough about just how reliable it is, Toyota (and brands like Honda as well) in the 80's and 90's were absolutely legendary in terms of reliability and quality. The only thing that kills these is rust, but other than that it's amazing

Её геометрия кузова слишком хороша для машины прожившей на дорогах 35 лет

The car has been preserved in an amazing configuration. In Russia, it would have been stripped to the bare body in half a year. And a year later, the body would have been sent to scrap metal.
I was deployed in Afghanistan, All, I mean all vehicles the afghans drives are toyotas!!! I've seen buch of 70s and 80s yota models still running strong.
My 1992 toyota tercel sat for 3 years! All it needed was a new battery. Turned the ignition & INSTANTLY started up (faster than my IS F) & im still driving it with 173k miles! I did put 3k into it recently to address ALL issues! Thing runs amazing #TOYOTA

Those are great engines. I had one of those cars when I was 15 but it was a little older 5spd and RWD I bought it with a bad timing belt for 500 bucks from the original owner. I used to jump railroad tracks going 70 mph. It was one of those cars that didn’t care how hard to drove it. it was a great car.
