Okay Albert, this year I got a huge crop of Padron plants....all tall vibrant and healthy just putting out peppers by the salad bowl full. Been eating and dehydrating the red ones to make Padron powder once they stop fruiting. I just made the fried green ones....ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! I was glad I had some sea salt tucked away, that sure makes a difference. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful cooking. I know I've been away from YT for a while, been so busy at work. Did you get your package yet?
Hey Rivet, yeah padron peppers are the best, no I have not received your package yet, just the postcard, I will let you know when it arrives, have a great day :)
Beautiful! I tried growing Padron peppers last summer but they didn't grow very well. I will try again! Thanks for sharing your deliciousness from Spain.
How did I miss this one. I don't think we have any peppers in that size range except ones that are too hot. But I'm going to try it tonight on some bigger ones that I normally slice. These just look better with the whole pepper . I always love videos that show tasty and different ways to prepare and eat vegetables. So glad you posted.
When I was watching this video, Helen came in and said she was getting some lunch ready. We were going to have some left over chicken. She asked for an idea for a side-dish. We had some of those larger pepper in the fridge so we tried your method on them. Perfecto! plus they went really well with the chicken. So there it is using your recipe within 1 hour of watching the video, and happy that I did Feliz Navidad
Great news. I found a place in Australia that sells them, but their season is over. I'm ordering some seeds for next year. If they don't grow well I'll order if from the farm that has them. BTW he started growing them when he returned from living in Spain for awhile.
I have never had this! I will go to the fresh vegetable market and get some and make this very soon!!! Looks amazing......sharing....Thumbs UP my friend
Cool. Looks like sometihing everyone around the table would like to try. I like the simplicity of the meals you prepare. You've got a new subscriber. :)
Darn.... I looked through like 20 of your videos before I got here!! Yeah! These are my favorites! Thanks for all your videos! Can't wait to have a get together! BTW, you seem more puertorrican than spaniard.
@@SpainonaFork Awesome!! Thanks for the reply. That means your paella has to be good!!! Seriously, haven't found a really good paella in Madrid nor Barcelona! Had a good Paella Negra en Sevilla last year.. Best I've had was in a Restaurant in Las Vegas, Jaleo by Jose Andres! So I'm going to start with one of your simple ones!
I’m going to Barcelona this week, was wondering how they cook them. Now I know what to look forward to. Will be cooking them on the regular once I come back from Europe.
Never seen anyone stir as weird as this. Does nothing except moving them from left to right a bit. Take a slightly bigger pan and toss them around, that works. And oh yeah: consider removing the stems. That's how they prepare them in the region around Padrón. The stems release bitterness into the pepper when frying.
@@plank3000 Where I live they leave the stems on too, but Padrón is not in the south: it is the extreme northwest, near Santiago de Compostela. But just try it for yourself: try full stem, half stem and no stem.
You are always making my favourite Spanish recipes! I grow these every summer and love having them as you so beautifully demonstrated! With tequila!
Thank you for your wonderful comment Azlin

Very Interesting! Never had these. Curious to know what would I serve these with? What Entree? TFS
These are usually served as an appetizer here in Spain, but you can pare them with a steak and some french fries
Fabulous! Thank you Chef
I love this recipe! Could I also use the small red or yellow bell peppers too, or would that be weird?
No it would not be weird, not traditional, but you can use any bell peppers you want, thank you for watching :)

Are they suppose to be sweet? I grew for the first time this year and they're very spicy.
Well it really depends, most are sweet and a very few are supposed to be spicy, looks like you got a spicy batch!
Spain on a Fork If I take out the seeds of the spicy ones would it cook and taste the same?
I think they will cook the same and they will have less spicy
oaoooowwww,,,,,, josh recipe

Give us names of peppers we may substitute if in California.

@@wRAAh I will try again, I live in the south and we have these peppers, so I don’t understand what you’re saying
i do that with jalapenos
Thanks for watching :)
Oh yummy..could you roast them like chili and get the same effect? Thanks for stopping bye my channel I have subbed you.... Have a good day...
you could roast them, but in all honesty I have never tried it that way! thank you so much for watching :)
better to use a wok instead of a frypan if you have one
I added too much extra oil and used a wok - two big mistakes!

hello my friend like your vídeo Kiss 😘😘😘😘
Thank you
Sunflower oil makes them a bit sweet , olive oil makes them a bit, bitter , just my opinion.
que rico amigo. yo tambien tingo channel de comida pakistani .
Isn’t the garlic burnt?
I live just a few miles away from Padrón. Please, forget about the garlic, you'll be ruining the dish. It's oil, peppers and salt, period.
You burnt the garlic ffs
