- The most well-known vehicles of the Wehrmacht are obviously the fearsome Panthers, the thick armoured Ferdinands and the mighty Tigers. On paper, those vehicles were almost perfect, but in reality each of them came with at least a few big caveats, from their exorbitant price to overly complicated maintenance. Regardless, there was still A LOT of work in the field that needed to be done, and that work was mostly carried out by less flashy or famous tanks, like the Panzerkampfwagen IV - and SPGs, like the Sturmgeschutz III, also known as the StuG.

One of the first model tanks I ever got as a kid was the StuG III G. Had no idea what it was at the time, and I probably just thought it was funny that tanks existed without turrets.

Getting a Finnish Stug III in the Swedish techtree would be so cool.
Yes a stug 3 for Sweden/Finland would make 3.0 Sweden some what "fun" to play
U guys still owe us with the StuG IV! And don't "cut corners" this time: We want the late model with the added armor, sides-kirts, "pighead" gun mantelet, and steel rollers!
The StuG III is my Favorite. When I was a child, my father once brought me a Model Kit from Plastic Soldier, containing 3 StuGs, with the possibility to replace the 7,5cm Guns with the 10,5cm Howitzers. I used them in the Tabletop Strategy Game Behind Omaha. Was certainly fun.
Must add tho, my Total favorite Tank is the Neubaufahrzeug.
I have old kits from when my dad was a kid so at least 40 year old air fix models
I have 2 king tigers, 1 Ferdinand, 3 panthers, 1 tiger 1 ,3 stugs, a jagdpanther, a jagdpanzer 4/70, 3 panzer 4s, 4 panzer 3s, a pair of puma sdkfz 234s ( a 234/2 and 234/4 ), sdkfz 221 scout car, 2 sdkfz 251 half tracks, a brummbar 15cm spg, and 3 flak 88s with sdkfz/6 medium half tracks and 4 pak 40s and opel blitz trucks, a neubelwerfer and out of scale model of bismark and prinz eugen and junkers 87, a Messerschmitt 110 and 109

They’re all painted and I have to many troops

I got Panthers (2 G Variants and an Ersatz M10), two King Tigers, a Maus, an E-100, an What-if-scenario E-100 V1 Carrier, an E-75, a Jagdtiger, a Sdkfz. 222, a Sdkfz. 251 (with 3,7cm PaK 36), a Panzer 38 (t), a Panzer III E, a Panzer IV F(2), a Tiger I E, a Me 262 A-1a, a Me 262 A-2a, a Horten H IX, a Nashorn, a Marder II, a Wespe, a Sdkfz 232/2 Puma, a Sdkfz 234/3, a Jagdpanzer IV L/48, a Bismarck (Revell, 1:700 I think) and probably some more which I do not remember rn. Although most aren't painted yet, in case of the planes and the E-75 and the E-100 V1 Carrier not even built. I first gotta do the Paintjob of the planes insides, the Horten is a pain in the ass there.
Good armor for it's br, great gun, decent speed and most of all the cheeky low profile. A nightmare of t34's and a nemesis of shermans especially at long ranges
But have trash back armor and have no turret cause it's easy to kill one just shot the track and then kill it

the stug 3 f is actually one of the best tank destroyers for germany relative to br, if u get a proper bush camoflauge setup for it can become almost invisble. and after that ur 75mm will do the rest

MY favourite StuG is the one that has a balanced map underneath its tracks an non-open spawns to get sniped after 3 secs
What about the maps that spawn you in a box with 1 exit that is easily camped?
We all need a StuG in our lives. I wish you guys add a lot more variants of it, like soviet captured StuGs, or variants with Saukopf.

The real steel behind the Wehrmacht. Tanks like this and the Panzer 4 it was based on were in production for the majority, if not the entirety of the war and were far more efficient than their well-known relatives.

I really like the stug III a. The short gun makes it fair for the type of armour you find on that rank.
The first time I saw a stug was on a video that was showing tank types and thought what was going through their head at that time,
The stug III g is my favorite out of them
It was Hanz Guderian that proposed the idea of a armoured self propelled gun with a infantry support gun and a other variant with a anti tank gun.

My favorite WW2 era German vehicle.
It's low profile enough to be sneaky, decent frontal armor, and pretty nimble too.
Tank engagements are mostly won by whoever sees the enemy first, so i despise the oversized famous German cats because most of the time the enemy will see you first. They're so fat it's hard to hide.
With the StuG you have the confidence that most of the time, you'll see the enemy first.

I've bounced 11 shells using thr stug 3. SEVEN of them bounced after both of my tracks were gone.
Yep. It'll bounce, and provided you can tell when you're about to take a shot, you can angle the tank slightly to give the enemy a really tough time.

With t34 its accually hard to kill a stug from the front but if i get lucky and hit the cupola it feels so good

the stug 3 g is my favourite tank to play for fun in war thunder. sadly playing more modern tanks ends in one of two ways normally: you don't see any enemy players or you don't get a single kill

@@okipullup2769 no clue what my player level is, I'm just a casual player. I played at 9.something with a test drive I got from the last battlepass and I remember it being no fun at all. So I stick to 6.7 and below where it is fun for someone like me who spends less than 4 hours a week in game

My favorite StuG III!
StuG III G is my favorite vehicle especially the Italian StuG III G :) (although theres pretty much no difference between the german and italian one) Its my favorite probably because of the powerful cannon it has, the low profile and because it was deployed even in Finland during the Continuation war.
Absolutely one of the best vehicles in my mind.
my favorite tank by far is the challenger 2 its the best.

I hate it when i can't get armor skirts off the stug III g because i would like it more whitout them
I'm not too keen on casemate-style vehicles, so I haven't touched these aside from unlocking them in order to progress down the tech tree. Same goes for other similar vehicles of other nations.
@Yuudachi poi which mean exactly jack squat when some light tank zips around behind you and you have no means to defend yourself.

Tbh if you get flanked its no surprise anymore, even with turret you are helpless if enemy manage to flank side or rear

Stug III G is the Simo Hayha of tanks
Syria used them into the 1960s against Israel during the Six-Day War, and they modified theirs with extra armor and even roof-mounted Breda-SAFAT 12.7mm machine guns stripped from airplanes. I've suggested this vehicle on the forums as a possible German premium!

Gaijin pls add the bombs Grand slam and Tallboy Bombs we're so done being only scared to the PE-8 we want bigger bombs and you must treat the Lancaster properly since it could carry much higher bomb load than any other bomber in ww2 .
