    Beautiful job! My 76 is just too nice of original condition to do this to, but you may have inspired me to find another bike to do this to. Awesome!

    Nice work - I hear that if you leave the gas petcock open and leave it leaning on the side kickstand that you have to watch out for hydrolocking

    I wonder if there was more clearance because I used a '75 tank shelter in place of the orig. '78 tank shelter.

    Checked out a bunch of your other videos and it looks like a lot of them are here in Alaska. I'm in Anchorage and I am building a 1978 Honda GL1000 with about 10,000 original miles. I am just now setting up my Randakk Weber conversion. I picked up a set of brand new Weber ID40 Model 70 carbs. I would like to see your bike sometime. It's good to see other people in this town riding something other than Harleys.

    I did the same setup as you but I have issue when I accelerate it starts to bog on me. I already change my jetting size on my idle, main, air corrector, emulsion tube, accelerator jet, and accelerator jet nozzle. Can you put me in the right direction on how to fix this issue

    • @theoryxboi
      @theoryxboi 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not the OG, but might can help what kind of sound when it bogs? A sound like kill switch was switched then all of a sudden it’s hauls ass is too lean…a bog that sounds like hitting rev limiter or popping or any variant of that is a rich bog. Hope that helps

    • @JJ-to6ge
      @JJ-to6ge 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theoryxboi thank you for the information but I found out the issue, my head on the goldwing where the carburetor manifolds bolts on to is warp and air is entering through there. I Haven’t done anything yet to fix but i need to take the head to a machine shop for they could cut it and make it even.

      @@JJ-to6ge maybe a inner tube for a bicycle. It will seal and contour to the warp. Just a thought.

    Why is this the only good sounding Goldwing? I've listened to a lot of GL Goldwing 4 cylinders in videos, and all of them sound like they are running on 2 or 3 cylinders, and they just don't have that strong Subaru sound. Your engine sounds like a proper Subaru 2.2 Liter high compression boxer, it's a scary sound. Can you make more videos about the sound? Or do you have others?

    Just one question. Why? What is wrong with the original carb set up. This engine
    sounds really sweet for such an old bike. Why fit carbs that were made for a V8
    engine. It doesn't need them, its such a pointless exercise.

    • @moosemeat49
      @moosemeat49  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gary Dunn It seems a lot of what people do may be pointless to some. But, in this case, the carb swap adds increased performance levels that suit the bike perfectly. What could be wrong with that?

    • @garydunn3037
      @garydunn3037 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jim meyer OK point taken. Just one more question, I noticed that the airintakes on those carbs run up the sides of the dummy fuel tank, which as you will know, opens to store tools and so on. Is the storage area in thedummy fuel tank now inaccessible?

    • @moosemeat49
      @moosemeat49  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gary Dunn Removing the stock carbs and air box opened much more space inside the tank shelter. I found a plastic container that fits perfectly inside and now, can carry all the usual stuff, like tools, cameras, phone, etc, etc. I love it. The tank shelter sidecovers also remove easily, w/o interference from the stacks/air cleaners.
