The fancy bag tether is to restrain the heavy bag from hitting a passenger in a panic stop or accident. My dad was a coroner, he had stories of people done in by a screwdriver or a bowling ball. We would joke not to put a Kleenex box on the back shelf or it could end up in your head.

"I have so much money that I can afford to buy ugly" is definitely a thing. Lots of designer items, clothes, purses, watches are like that. There's also the Bentley Bentega.

I had an XM to demo for a weekend. I didn’t like it. I think the X5M is a much better vehicle and it costs a lot less.
By the way guys, the XM isn't an M Performance vehicle like you mentioned throughout the video, it, like the X5M is a full on M vehicle.

XM= try not looking at me. Bmw nailed it totally for next generation of influencers, LV enthusiasts and few car enthusiasts. Brutalist design done to perfection. ❤Bmw.
I think it looks great, but I wouldn't have it in boring black. Unfortunately, when I drove it, I didn't get anything more from it than my X5 M50i, which was $6,000 cheaper. 😉
My local dealer has one in black with all the bronze trim (including kidney grille) it actually looks pretty mean, I'm definitely a fan
Guess I’m in the minority but I truly love the look. It is unique and it has a look of an angry SUV… which I love.
Is there a definition of "precise steering" as opposed to steering having feedback? How can a driver be precise if there is little to no feedback?

Is horse power driving the price upward? You can't use all that power on the street but it's a market for these high price car.
There are no reliable TH-cam reviewers out there, especially in the English-speaking world. It's hard to find channels that offer professional insights. Even some newcomers with limited knowledge and subjective opinions have millions of subscribers, flooding the platform with their content. They should all close their channels.
Today, I went to the dealer for my M3 CS new model's break-in service and had the opportunity to test drive the XM (with 23-inch and 22-inch wheels). Wow, this was an insanely well-crafted vehicle. Especially the XM with 22-inch wheels had an amazing ride comfort. While the XM with 23-inch wheels had a slight uncomfortable stiffness during rebound (similar to what I felt in the X5 M), the engine, transmission, damping, and the vehicle's body control for such a large and heavy car were outstanding. It's unlikely that the Cayenne GTS or Turbo can match this performance (I'm not sure about the Turbo GT). Even with a discount, paying $150,000 for a car of this quality is beyond belief. It's truly the best. There's no other SUV competing at this level below $200,000. Not even the Urus or RSQ8 show this level of performance. I wonder what else could be out there? The X6 M seems unrivaled or even non-existent.

? - It almost seems like you didn’t watch this review. Our guys complimented most of the things you mentioned, engine, dynamics, body control, luxury and the performance for this much weight were all mentioned. Meanwhile, we wonder which TH-cam channels you are referring to. This is our second and smaller channel. It's missing the bronze trim that the M5CS has. put that on instead of the red line and it will be .. horribly stunning. This is the perfect Frankenstein. Slap a crazy M engine/front end and hang an 7 series rear seat. hmm....
Everyone forgets how hated the X6 was when it was released in around 2012 and look how successful it’s been.
Can you imagine the technical issues and repair costs especially after the warranty has ended?
love the videos and hearing the guys give opinions but I must say watching them drive along and seeing all the HIDEOUS McMansions plopped all over the gorgeous Colorado scenery saddens me to great degree

conservative people are by definition slow to change. bmw has recently been challenging design with avant garde techniques which eventually become classics.

It makes me happy thay these are already a sales flop, piling up kn dealer lots and selling well below MSRP already.
I was like ok a ugly sub 100k bmw crossover good for 0-35K miles. Then I heard the price.. and it’s starting price is as ugly as the vehicle itself.

everybody bashes the look but does it look worse than the X7? No. Does it look worse than the 7 Series sedan? Definitely not.

what kills me is the alpina X7 is faster , bigger and cheaper than this. Also a bmw product.
I can't help but be somewhat annoyed that this over-$160,000 XM that costs more than my first house shares the stainless steel pedals with my wife's previous $50,000 330i M Sport. I think that, for all the engineering wizardry, the price tag demands more attention to detail. The interior does, in fact, look very nice, but to me, $160,000+ means we should get concept-car-esque levels of style. Oh, and the entire concept of this car as an M car is strange. An over-6000-pounds M car seems antithetical to the M brand.
BMW is officially beyond redemption.

Our guys have driven most everything over the last 16 years, and Paul has a background in car design, so they bring a lot of varied experience here. Additionally, we know the X6 has been successful, but we still dislike it. And plenty of odd/bad/ugly cars have been successes over the years - we shall see with this XM. Thanks for watching!
In other words this wildly expensive piece of ocular vomit can't hang with a Jeep Trackhawk from 2018 even with the advantage of 5+ years of development and an electric motor to assist. BMW needs serious help in all ways.
I struggle to see how the XM is worth $30k more than the X5M Comp. For that extra $30k you get worse looks (arguably) and less performance (measurably).

Hi, from Japan!! Oh, you tried the budget ugly. Great!! I often think why BMW makes ugly cars when they release new cars but here is wonder of BMW. I can accept the ugly and strange points of the cars little by little somehow . I would love this XM face in my future. We Japanese people think the kidney grill looks like pig nose rather than beaver teeth.

This feels like the near culmination of every awful automotive trend of the past decade. Crude, ugly design, unnecessarily large, unnecessarily fast, 1000% deadlier. Just put a tiny pickup bed on it that can barely haul groceries and you have the bingo.
Normal and good looking cars aren't called controversial. Only ugly cars are. Some people just like ugly.
