Hey man, good on you for getting out there and figuring out how to ride that big bike in that terrain. Learning what works and doesn't work for you in different situations is a pain but you are better for it no doubt. I'm happy for you man. Keep up the skill development. I'm jealous of you right now. I just bought a Super Tenere myself. I hope to be there one day.
8:21 Take those pillion foot rests off when off-roading, or you risk bending your frame (or the footrests), especially if you fall on a hard surface. 12:05 I always carry a crushed soda/beer can that I slip under the side stand to make sure it does not dig into the soil and have my bike fall over.
Awesome video and riding. Highly recommend shock sox for this kind of riding, learned the hard way that dirt gets into the fork seals easier than I thought but other than that, great bikes
I’ve been mowing over buying the Yamaha super tenere for about a year now once I sell a couple other bikes off this will be my final bike to complete my collection thanks for this video It really shows the true capabilities This Bike. I still kind of wish you would’ve just gave it a shot through that water LOL just kidding.
Why I never really consider these adventure bikes unless you like group rides. Flipside to that is you pick them up enough it'll make you a better rider rather than manhandling a 250 off road. If for no other reason than you'll get good...so you don't have to pick it up anymore. Pain has a way of honing one's focus.
Nice bike on the road, but much too heavy! I sold mine after a year and have a Tiger 800 now, Definitely much better to handle. Long live the coming of the Tenere 700!
Have an 18 Tenere and although I am an experienced dirt rider I’m really not wanting to ride this big pig in stuff like that…. The bike is too damn heavy and at 64 I don’t want all the stress of picking it up alone… Will gladly rip that terrain on my KTM 300 or my Honda XR 400…. Just the right tool for the job 👊
Riding that behemoth out there doesn’t look like fun to me. I wouldn’t mind having one of these bikes, but I’ll keep it on the highway and gravel roads. If I want to do this type of riding I will take my dirt bike. I bet he was glad to get back to the highway, and I bet he never does this again.
Actually, I took that bike off-road again, but you're right, these bikes are not really for such conditions. Unfortunately, I don't have a dirt bike in my garage to choose from. (Not yet 😊 ).
Not any more a beast than a BMW R1200. GS or a Triumph Explorer, KTM etc. If you take a big adventure bike off road....you are running the risk of having to pick it up...duh. I have one of these bikes and it is an excellent bike.
@@jimwms1able But as far as i can see this is far more heavy then the rest. And with the boxer engien on the GS1200 it dont fall flat on its side so that make it "easyer" to pick up again. (lm NOT a GS fan by far) my dl weigh 219kg and thats heavy from time to time, try 50 to 60kg more. Not a walk in the park on loos surfase. And yes l love the super ten look. One of the best looking super adv bike.
@@gamotur im surprised that you couldn't pick it up from your back (like they tell you to do it) but you could do it from your front. Also wow @ that fan sound. About how hot was it that day?
@@gamotur Because the fan cools the fluid that cools the engine. The fluid cools the engine in such a way that the pump forces the fluid to circulate through the machine. If you turn off the engine, the pump stops working, fluid circulation stops and the overheated engine does not cool down. The engine temperature rises significantly above the recommended values. The pressures increase significantly and an unnecessary load on the material (seals, metal) is created. Therefore, it is necessary to leave the engine running until the fan shuts down, and it will only turn off when the engine temperature reaches the required value.
Actually, you should ALWAYS turn off this bike in these situations.. This bike has fuel injection, stops the flow immediately. Also, why leave the fan on? No need for the engine; flat on its side, and there for no need to cool via fan.
@@randallsguaranteedsold6361 i am writing about situation in 30 sec of video, not 12:18. You should never turn off the motorcycle, unless necessary as at 12:18, when the hair dryer turns on. I explained why.
Hey dude, your life is yours. But I have to tell, If you want to go offroad, buy a smaller bike in order to learn how to do that. Like a tenere 250, ou CRF 250L. And them you'll find out how to control a big bike. I'm just saying.
I agree 100%. I switch from big sport bikes like Hayabusa or ZX14 that's way I bought big 1200cc ADV bike thinking that bigger is better :) Now I know that BIG is HEAVY !!! Thanks for watching
Very awesome! This is the real deal and not those show videos with flying 1200cc bikes etc. Just real world! Love it!

Nicely done!!! That was a ride fit for a YZ 450, 250 or XTZ 660 at the most! Congrats for proving it could be done so well with a 1.200!

Thank you for the good advice 👍👍👍
Love my 2013 Tenere!! About to take a 250 mile trip tomorrow and can't wait. Figured that 600lb dead lift would be hard. Good job though!
Love the cooling fan sound picking mine up on tuesday in cairns australia can't wait

It is even easier for sand to get under those socks and act tine a sandpaper.
Facing the bike as you did is the only way I can lift my Multistrada, the other techniques don't work for me.

Nice ride man, Good job! I love my Tenere! Highly underrated.

I LOVE my ST, but I hate it in the sand. Speaking of sand, Love that color! Have fun, stay safe! Maybe consider joining us in Ouray Co for the rally?
I totally agree about sand and ST (not a good mix) :) Thanks for invitation but this year I am planning to ride to Canada for a few days.
I bet those dead pine branches were blocking the trail that went around it LOL
Nice video. I just picked up a 2020 model myself. Where is this? It looks like Florida.
The Pine Barrens, NJ. Great bike, have fun 👍
Well, was lifting it as hard as they say? You made it look fairly doable.
It's heavy as f#$k 🤪
Beautiful terrain, where is this?

I think I'll forget about buying a Super T and just keep riding my KLR650.
He nice bike and cool way.
Have nice ride.✌

Where is spot you ride ?
New Jersey , Pine Barrens

Nice to see a vid without a voice yapping away about pointless shit
