I was one of the beta testers of this product. The graphics and audio were amazing, but the story line sucked. The whole game revolved around some guy sitting in his mom's basement commenting random things on youtube and wasting away his life. Not really an appealing story.
+Fast Obzeh YEah don't you just hate those endings? And the whole late game was a bit silly too... I mean my whole party had died, it was only me left. And what's up with them introducing a new healer right there before the end credits?
I bought a Google Cardboard Plastic. I didn't get the 20/20 resolution, even with my glasses on. I want my money back. Very disappointed with the perfect vision promise.
I've talked to some of the people who tried the prototype. Apparently it had a lot of glitches and a poor refresh rate. Just hope they fix it up before it hits the shelves.
I'm a little skeptical of this product. I'm very perceptive and something is telling me this is not right. For instance, I can't see where the batteries would fit. I know what you're thinking, you're thinking the batteries are transparent and that's why you can't see them. That's very clever of you but I'm way ahead of you. What about the....damn that was good of you to notice that. I got nothing now. Well I'm too smart to just order it blind, I'm going to wait for the reviews and not believe the marketing video. I mean I bet these are actors and not real people they just happened to come across using Google Plastic.
The first thing I'm going to do when I get this, is to go outside and see (and hear) the world. This device is worth its weight in gold at a fraction of the cost. Its worth it :)
unknownchasen I think 20/30 is worse. Could be wrong. Either way, I can stand 30 feet away from something and read/recognize it, while the normal human being must stand 20 feet away. So, my cardboard plastic will receive a free upgrade in terms of resolution that way. 😉
This isn't just about April fools' prank, but it also raises awareness about how we seek reality through technologies while the real world is out there.
I understand it's an April fools joke but it actually does have some meaning to it. We have all become glued to screens and I'm definitely one of them so this made me think that they put meaning in a joke by expressing we should get off these screens. "Google cardboard" promotes that nothing is better than seeing life through nothing.
+Teknium They probably uploaded it in time for when New Zealand and Australia woke up to 1st April, which was 31st March for just about the rest of us:)
My GCP just arrived yesterday! This is most amazing piece of tech EVER. I also have the Oculus Rift but GCP is far superior mainly because it doesn't require a powerful PC. I even went to sleep with the GCP on and I had the most amazingly vivid dreams last night. This is a MUST BUY!!!
I got one they're a little over priced but I think it's worth it. Great for when your contacts fall out or making sure your makeup doesn't come off in water. 10/10 quality. Only problem is its uncomfortable on the nose area.
This video actually taught me to go out and experience real life rather than staying in the house all day trying to figure out how to use a pair of electronic eyeglasses 😂😂
It is kinda a good idea though to make google cardboard so u can see the outside world tho, if u have the phone on the bottom and hav it reflect so u see it in front of u it would look like a window or a two way mirror were u can focus on either one
123eldest The video explains clearer, but the cones equals pixels things is not a thing. The eye scans around in a analogue pattern. It does not have the same amount of clarity all around the edge of vision compared the focused detailed center.
Actually this is a really good idea. Imagine having a device to see the outside world a bit differently. Like tunable spectacles. Maybe get more vibrance or maybe get a standard of vision to match with other people.

And people would accutaly but it
Unfortunately I didn't find the respawn button when I died :( I guess that's the only downside of this (V)R.

I hope you mean the part before they actually showed the product.
I was one of the beta testers of this product. The graphics and audio were amazing, but the story line sucked. The whole game revolved around some guy sitting in his mom's basement commenting random things on youtube and wasting away his life. Not really an appealing story.
+Steven jwz I heard the story is dynamic though and you can actually make decisions that will affect the ending.
+123eldest the ending sucked, everything just went black, I was hoping there'd be another level in the clouds or something
+Fast Obzeh YEah don't you just hate those endings?
And the whole late game was a bit silly too... I mean my whole party had died, it was only me left. And what's up with them introducing a new healer right there before the end credits?

Have been playing Plague Inc with it in real time since the end of last year. 10/10, very realistic, would recommend.

How's the battery life on this?
+will be my end Not bad, it starts to degrade after about 450 years, though.
+Blacksnyder that's a deal breaker..... Shame it looked good to
+jake Henschel You'd think with a company as big as google, it would at least have a decent battery life..
+will be my end It Averages 65 years, but it can be reused.
The graphics were amazing, but the plot sucked.
Yeah... It's just wake up, eat food, have a bath, go to work, eat food, go home, eat food, go to sleep everyday

April fools.
Good video, I guess the message here is that we don't appreciate real life experiences and possibilities nearly enough.
There is no message, it's an Aprils fool joke. Not everything has a deeper meaning.
This is such a perfect video. I keep repeating it now!
I appreciate that Google uses all that money they make to make such innovative products!
Works great, no buffering, no lag time, and the sound effects are spot on.
I thought it's an old cassette box, lol
Is this a joke?

Oh well.
I'm pretty sure it's a joke. I really *really* hope it is.

Oh yeh haha

sfgrgfsf212 Oh okay xD

Steve McGuinness Oh okay :)
So Googles selling plastic

Finally a VR headset that's affordable.
I bet there would be quite a substantial amount of people who would actually buy this...
For some reason the analog clock does not work
JeffAT 2 This is a joke VR headset, it was uploaded on April 1st. You have to look at a clock for the so-called "analog clock" to work.
Derpy Piplup I'm pretty sure everyone knew that it's for April fools but I say that "the analog clock does not work" because I don't wear a watch
JeffAT 2 Ohh, okay
You need to buy and install the app.
"What's realer than real"
MINECRAFT
If it was from Apple, people would actually stay in lines to buy it.
Even though this is obviously an April Fools joke, and I was expecting it would be, i will admit it was very well done, and I enjoyed watching it.
Shut up and take my money!
This video actually taught me to go out and experience real life rather than staying in the house all day trying to figure out how to use a pair of electronic eyeglasses 😂😂
Cant wait to buy this on April 1st !! :D
+Jane Grassmarket Which line.
Jane Grassmarket which line should I get on?
Jane Grassmarket I thought he said it was on line?
Jane Grassmarket I dont think Amazon is a line. He said it was on a line, so I would like to know which line is that? :)
Jane Grassmarket
Yeah he said, get it on line? So "on line" can also be put as "on a line". Anyways, Just got mine today ! ;) :P
Google Glass was a better April Fool's Joke.
THIS AGED WELL AF
They uploaded this 1 day early
Those are my grandparents sunglasses but without the light protection.
They've really perfected the design! Finally, something that doesn't make me look cheap!
for a second there I thought it was an April's fool prank
Hahaha . . . Nah really. 😒
haha :D Original comment. I'll screenshot it and use it in my next video
This Google prank had no back lash... unlike the gmail one! LOL
But does it connect to my wifi?
No, the wifi connects to it
Would of been better if you actually uploading this on April 1st
+XtremeGaming123 It was probably April 1st somewhere.
It is here
Idiot.
+flyhighpizzapie read the date it was posted
Always someone this dumb
It is kinda a good idea though to make google cardboard so u can see the outside world tho, if u have the phone on the bottom and hav it reflect so u see it in front of u it would look like a window or a two way mirror were u can focus on either one
This was the best April fools joke ever cause you got people losing their minds over it.
MUST GET! Wonder what resolution this "real life" runs at?
+Quagdarr The resolution is 20/20. It said so on the website.
Sci show did a video titled "what is the resolution of the eye?" No fooling! It is really informative.
+Rocket Rooster Films Surely it's just the area of the retina measured with units of rods/cones.
123eldest The video explains clearer, but the cones equals pixels things is not a thing. The eye scans around in a analogue pattern. It does not have the same amount of clarity all around the edge of vision compared the focused detailed center.
Rocket Rooster Films
Yes, I guess since the cones are mostly concentrated in the fovea that's where the resolution should be estimated.
April FOOLS!
It would make basement dwelling gamers feel safer in actual reality.
Tbh I feel that the underlying message is also that sometimes we should set aside technology and appreciate the reality around us.
I'll wait for the Apple version.
Funny how the Google Glasses are still dumber than this.
FROM WHERE I CAN BUY IT BECAUSE THAT'S THE BEST VR EXPIRIENCE EVER
actually is not the best.
I have google glass, I have google cardboard.
Ugh
Google cardboard glass
"Published on Mar 31, 2016"
Ok, so it's not April Fools.
+eatcarpet In USA not, but in other countries it is
That's why the video got me good for a cool minute
It was published on 12 am GMT so it was the official beginning of April fools day. Google is smarter than that.
Bet you still need to sign into Google+
I think they were a day early for uploading this.
It was posted March 31st at 11:59
Still technically a day early.
lol
