      He gave you what year number the donor is. (Sorry if that sounded snarky.) But you can go on AutoZone or O'Reilly's. Calm and look it up and they'll have the oe part number on the page.

      Diameter is ok...problem is offset. The stock calipers only have pistons on one side...these calipers have pistons on both sides, so it's thick against the rim. Therefore, you don't need bigger wheels, you need spacers

    With putting a bigger set of calipers on your vehicle do you see a need for a bigger or heavier duty master cylinder?

    • @fartzinacan
      @fartzinacan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, it's a direct swap so no other changes to the brake system needs to be made. M14 washers to center the calipers is the only addition to be made.

    • @castleclubclipz
      @castleclubclipz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fartzinacan Actually, a larger 1.31” vs the stock 1.125” or even 1.25” MC would help, especially given that you are adding 2 pistons up front (and stock has 2 piston rears vs single piston rears on the T1 Silvy).
      The 1.31” (aka 34mm) bore size out of the 2006 Escalade/Suburban will bolt right on.

    • @fartzinacan
      @fartzinacan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@castleclubclipz good to know, thank you. The OEM system has held up flawlessly though for the past 18 months or so I've had my 4 piston swap in.
      Have you added the larger master cylinder?

    • @castleclubclipz
      @castleclubclipz ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fartzinacan Indeed, these will work with the stock 1.125” MC, but since the T1 (2019+) Silvy/Sierra use a larger 1.31” MC, upsizing the stock to correctly match really allows these calipers to perform as they should.
      And so yes, I did upsize the MC… I now have better modulation control with braking, less pedal travel/sinking, and alleviates the problem of not being able to lock up and activate ABS as well during a panic stop (which is the only drawback of these bigger calipers with undersized MC).
      Well, well worth it imo. Cherry on top for this upgrade. Just make sure to bleed the system well.

    • @danieljones8587
      @danieljones8587 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do the rears too. Get the 30mm rotors ànd make sure you get the larger caliper bracket and pads that go with the new calipers. You might have to do some spacing if you don't get all compatible parts but if all parts are compatible it's all direct bolt on. Sometimes the parts people don't get it right.

    • @jhermaineharris2142
      @jhermaineharris2142 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danieljones8587 so the fronts and backs can both be upgraded from the same truck that’s 2020? If so I’m doing that.

    • @danieljones8587
      @danieljones8587 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Jhermaine Harris Yes, both front and rear can be upgraded. If you use your original caliper holders, you will need .15" spacers which can be accomplished with 1/2" washers and new brake lines to fit the calipers. Forget what I said about 30mm rotors just go with rotors that fit the new calipers.

    • @gzoman5
      @gzoman5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The information below...or above, however this posts, is incorrect. The vehicles that came with the 4 piston calipers have an electric parking brake on a single piston caliper. The 99-19 trucks used a drum style parking brake therefore the offset of the caliper in relation to the mounting and rotor is going to be different. It's also not an upgrade, especially on the 99-06-ish trucks. They came with a two piston caliper in the back. 2WD only SUVs and vans up to 02-06 (I think...) came with a 1.25" thick rotor whereas 4wd had a .750" thick. Look for smooth calipers on the thicker rotor, ribbed on the thinner. 07+ all had a single piston caliper and 13" rotor in the back. Options for upgrade are from Baer who sells a bracket and 14" rotor kit.
