Idk but for me, the sloth going past the speed limit makes sense because he's too slow to stop pressing the accelerator and use the brake. I love your reactions to animated movies
Lovely reaction! My favourite tiny interaction in this is how they show Judy's implicit bias so deftly. She sees Nick crossing the street and assumes he's up to no good because he's a fox. Then the elephant tells him 'get out fox, we don't serve you here' and Judy instantly knows that's wrong. She can see that bias and she knows it's cruel. But afterwards she says to Nick 'You're a real articulate fella' - again displaying her implicit bias. It's a good example of how even 'good' people need to pay attention to the things we don't even realise we think. A good movie!
I really love Judy's apology to Nick scene. Firstly, top tier apology she takes accountablity and displays genuine remorse. Secondly, Nick is quick to recognise that and forgive. And thirdly its such a wonderful and real blend of sincere emotion, with playful humour that really sells the mending and growth of their friendship. Honestly something not enough movies do considering how common I think it is to have a deep heartfelt moment with a friend or loved one, only to end it with a touch of humour without ruining the sincerity of the moment.
I wish Encanto was like that, I really despise the main character for it. she is painted as never in the wrong and I don't even remember her apologising to her sister. I like every other characters, but her being the protagonist really made it a sour experience to me.
That scene made me cry and I don't care if it's unmanly to say it. The voice acting really sold the hurt and the pain and it just hit hard for me. I've met a lot of people who refuse to apologize and mend friendships and just let it die. I really admire anyone I meet IRL who apologizes. It takes a very big person to do that.
I love how recognizable the different species are drawn and also the size differences are quite accurate. Nicks "little son" in the popsicle scam is a fennec, a small species of fox, living in african deserts. If you realize that, the scam is much more obvious, because you see that this is not a cub and particularly not a red foxes cub. But it is not common knowledge for many viewers and obviously not for a lot of the animals in Zootopia, including Judy and the elephants at the ice shop.
When you said that they were probably sending the nighthowlers to the nudist colony and they were smoking it 😭 Too funny Maureen, you should’ve written the movie!
another fun fact: most huge predators know to stay away from otters in the water since they are really fast and pretty strong. specially if they're in a group, on land they are pretty easily victims
20:38 why is he being like that? well, he says here "To you, bunnies, any predator seems agresssive", and in real life, Human Resources says "to you, a woman, the man's actions only seemed like h**sssment, bcs you're a woman, and women are more sensitive."
21:00 It’s not that Judy’s a bunny that really bothers Bogo. It’s that she’s a rookie, and still an optimist. That’s why he assigned her to parking duty: start at the bottom, then work your way up. Plus, being involved with the city hall politics isn’t helping either.
I think he also wanted to avoid being seen as giving Judy unfairly good treatment. If you assign the first bunny in ZPD history to a better role than you'd give other rookies, it looks preferential. It also doesn't let her succeed on her own merits. That wouldn't make anyone think bunnies were actually decent at the job, it would just make them bitter she got an instant promotion.
The reaction was incredible. My favorite parts were the scenes with the sloths and the final scene when Judy and Nick become policemen with their patrol.
I agree that they made Nick a little sus when Judy sees him for the first time, but that's an example of implicit bias because he was just standing there doing nothing. Also I think that people don't remember that when she was little she was attack by another fox, so I understand that in her mind foxes (even poor Nick) are not good but everyone seems to forget that when she was ready to spray Nick with the repellant....
Love the reactions! Youre my favorite movie channel, Maureen. And this was a good one to pick too! I love how it explores themes of discrimination and bias in a kid-friendly way.

What a cute heart emoji! How'd you do that???
@@bigschmill294That is one of TH-cam's emojis. You can use them when you are writing a comment from a computer.
@@bigschmill294 it means that Maureen herself also loved what they said!
but surprisingly their eyes able to process so many fast moving objects on the front screen there XD
@@marizxa im pretty sure they meant the emoji at the end if the comment, not the "creator loved this conment" indicator

5:33 Chief Bogo wears glasses in this scene because Cape Buffaloes in real life have poor eyesight.
Lol cute detail! 😊
