    I was shocked to learn that 6 states and DC allow abortions at ANY point during pregnancy. My view is that during the 1st month an abortion is not ideal but I'm prepared to live with with it. My mother in law was told that her youngest son was going to be born extremely handicapped and one doctor recommended an abortion. My father in law went ballistic and said that this baby was his son and if he had to carry him on his back until the day he died then so be it. He was born with no problems and so his middle name is Lukki.

      But let's also be honest about this whole trade deal because it is not just an opening of market's their are several provisions that could create a disaster for Asia and the Americas just as bad as the EU has been for Europe. While I agree with Ben 90% of the time he is white washing this issue. This wasn't just a trade deal it would also create several globalist agencies. Such as the head Commission that would hold power over sovereign governments and it would be able to draw up new provisions/requirements/ punishments at will and none of the Countries have any recourse to reverse or repeal actions taken by the commission. While I think most of the Unions are nothing more than shadows of their past selves and only care about money. This deal was bad news we just need a straight up trade deal with all the countries with provisions that we can agree upon and if you break from the agreement all the countries embargo and freeze your countries assets until you fill the rules.

      Barry Dillon. Press reflection is largely very negative. Alas, most people are blindly influenced by that. So even people around me, people who I would normally associate as being reasonably conservative, uniformly loathe him. If the subject is ever raised, I am literally the only person who is giving him the thumbs up at present. It is sad, but indicative of the power of the tabloids and broadcasting media.

      @ball1524 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Waluigi McSpermDump it's like nafta times 10. It's supposed to help competition with China but it's not really that. Go look into it.

    • @BungieStudios
      @BungieStudios 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      *+Mr. White* Incorrect. It would have had it went through. It was never finalized or passed. The US was still in negotiations.
      Trump walked out on those negotiations. It still exists in South East Asia. We just won't be part of any of it.
      ____________________________________
      *+Waluigi*, it would have allowed untariffed exports from China and other South East Asian countries. Anything imported from those signed countries would be untaxed. It would have damaged our economy by undercutting our businesses.
      Labor in China is already cheap because of Socialist control of businesses there. You've read the stories of Chinese workers being underpaid and overworked? Their products would ultimately be cheaper than anything produced here in America, where tons of regulations, pensions, minimum wages, protections, taxes, and liabilities exist.
      The Cost of Goods Sold is ultimately more expensive if produced here in the US than in China. All of those aforementioned things in US business must be paid for. In order to make a profit, the cost must be transferred into the price of the product. You think people will buy a $30 Steamer made in the US or a $20 Steamer Made in China? Obviously they'll pick the cheaper one.
      Those American businesses would either have to transfer production to China in order to compete and fire its workers, create a lower quality item and risk their reputation, or continue on and risk going into debt before ultimately become defunct.
      The same would go for any other foreign import not in the former proposed TPP Deal. So anything Germany, France, or Italy trying to sell to us would experience the same ordeal. They'd be competing with cheap labor and completely untaxed exports.
      NAFTA is similar, except it is signed by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. To further exemplify you have any old VHS tapes lying around, you'll probably see they're imprinted "Made in Mexico". This was before, of course, China began to bloom and undercut them.
      I hope that helps clarify some things.

      Waluigi McSpermDump pretty sure TTP gave ridiculous power to companies allowing them to change laws. Could be wrong on that though.

    • @Sacrilege83
      @Sacrilege83 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ^Corporations could bully governments into changing their laws and/or sue nations for billions of dollars for breaking the rules found in the agreement. It would be like EU, no sovereignty, only a false one, hence Brexit from EU.
      TH-cam videos can better explain the TPP than any commenter can. They have graphics, and hopefully sources as well.

    I don't know why people like Ben are so concerned with the whole "Republican Party" thing. Just because something is an ideal of the party doesn't mean that it is the optimal solution. American strength and values are my focus, not the ideals of a political party. While I agee with 99% of what Ben says, I don't know why he is so concerned with fitting the exact lines of the Republican Party which is not necessarily the exact outline of political and moral righteousness.

Do you think you would get a better deal by cornering each kid 1 by 1 and negotiating or by calling everyone into a room together and finding agreement amongst all parties?
      Your deal is going to include numerous provisions and sections that do not even concern you. Your relative advantage due to your size will be easily negated by the collective voices of several smaller kids encouraging each other.

      Actually its the exact opposite. The Smaller economy benefits much more than the larger, in that the smaller economy gets an [essentially] limitless market too export into, while the larger economy gets only a small [percentage] increase in its production due to the small economies inability to absorb imports.
      Its easily demonstrated graphically. Googly be thy friend.

    Gotta say it: Of course they want a cut in regulations. They're already dodging most of the taxes, while the regulations make it harder - if not impossible - to get something new, something more done.

    Ben love your show. I wouldn't defund planned parenthood, but make sure no tax dollars fund abortion unless a mother's life is in danger. Sex education and free condoms are still a good thing.

      That's already supposed to be the policy, but it doesn't work in practice.
      PP has expenses, like anyone else. And they say that the govt money they get goes towards those expenses, and not towards abortion.
      However, it's just a shell game. PP takes govt money and pays their non-abortion expenses, but then uses the money they WOULD have used towards those expenses and they use it for abortions.
      No really difference to tax payer funded abortions.

      Don Burke Most of what planned parenthood does, are arbotions. What they do to make it seem like it's not, is that they count all the individual procedures prior to discussing an abortion, as individual services. So like the check ups, and the ultra sound, they would be considered two separate visits. If you call the clinics to see about prenatal care, they will most likely tell you that they don't do prenatal, they do abortions

    I agree with you Ben, but if Trump allowed TPP to continue the Rust-belt Democrats would certainly not vote for him in 2020. I will be worried if he keeps making protectionist promises to unions, but he has to keep the promise he made and it's a small price to pay to secure the presidency in 4 years. Meanwhile, America is being made great again.

    Free trade isn't fair if the playing field isn't level. When people living in poverty are willing to work for what isn't even close to the minimum wage in America, the incentives for corporations moving all their manufacturing oversea is far too great. Asking an Americans to work for the same wages that a Mexican or Chinese worker is willing to work for is ridicules.

  • @NetherlandsFirst
    @NetherlandsFirst 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    While I'm generally against abortion too, I think I have to clarify something here. Whether or not a fetus has a working heart (or lungs or other organs) does not determine if they're sentient beings. That is determined by the brain. Scientists agree that fetuses of before about 24 weeks of gestation are considered not to be sentient. Whether organs have already formed or not doesn't determine if the fetus can be considered to have rights. The fact of the matter is, the science says that fetuses of the age specified above are considered to be extensions of the mother's body rather than separate human life-forms. Therefore, fetuses of the aforementioned developmental stage do not have the right to life.

    And don't forget, the Mexico City policy has nothing to do with pro-life or pro-choice in America. It literally has to deal with us sending money to foreign governments to support their PP and abortions. We should let other countries deal with that issue and whether they want to flip the bill for it.
