20:09 is super useful! Also, this is a more weapon specific tip: But I'd like to add that, the moving water CC is considered a (no damage) active hitbox, like Tremors or Roars. This means that, countermoves also trigger on it. So things like Longsword's IS, ISS, or FSS can easily proc.
@@Cygnet13 Yes sir! You can basically "counter" that move. A useful movement option is to also FSS or Iai "into" a moving puddle to trigger a counter. And with FSS, the s (and its small hyper armor at the end) are usually long enough to clear the entire hitbox duration, too.
Best paired with a waterproof mantle because I’ve had instances where the end of the foresight slash actually put me in a flowing puddle, meaning I couldn’t follow up with a roundslash - and was even immobilized. Waterproof mantle means you can proc FSS on flowing puddles with much smaller risk.

Guys. Thank you SOO MUCH. I mass shared this everywhere instantly because alot of newcomers really need this! And it's an eye opener to experienced players like myself.
I wish there was extra bits for HBG users as alot of attacks youre supposed to sheath against we simply dont get enough time to sheath against. Like rajangs body slam, i sheath the absolute second im done getting roar stunned and never make it in time and so i just try to roll away every time and never make it out of range. Or namielles water attack that goes left right left right, if im in the center and not close i pretty much get hit cause theres not much i can do. You have to twice but the roll takes so long that if i the first part i get hit mid roll when it comes back. Absolutely love this series though. Learn so much every time!
As for rajang, you dont have to sheathe. just keep walking away and dodge at the last few moments before he lands. Use the few s to dodge the front hitbox and after that you should be far enough already to not get hit by the lingering hitbox. For namielle's water beam tho..i think you can just roll to the front of her front legs immediately after you see the animation. I'm very rarely hit by that move. Evade extender might help for these 2 specific moves.
Very helpful! I had no idea about the waterfall safezone and the counter after being flinched out of a water attack! I also noted that before Namielle does her ulti, she does a different, higher pitched roar that helped me out a lot to stop attacking on time. I find nami is a pretty fun fight! Thank you again for all your hard work!
As a SnS user with shit for reach, I always try to tenderize the claws yet I have never noticed this pattern. Either she doesn't do it when you do the claw uppercut or I'm just dumb lol
Excellent video. After grinding a bunch of tickets out AT Nami, I was already doing a lot of this positioning and spacing intuitively, but seeing a detailed breakdown of the fight was still really engaging, and it helped me better understand what I'dd been doing right and wrong. Now if only could stop getting sloppy in the last zone and fouling up reasonably clean runs.

Thanks for the tips....Ik I am a little late to the game. Started playing a couple of weeks ago. Got to MR 100 today and I was able to beat AT Namielle on my 1st try without fainting with your tips.
I wish we had more of these guides online. For some reason they are so rare. Especially for MHRSunbreak, with the anomalies, even a Kulu can be deadly lol
Nami's ultimate also has a much smaller attack just before the big boom. If it goes off before you're out of the area, it'll flinch you unless you have rocksteady or something similar, and it seems to be staggered with the later attack enough that it will mess up pre-emptive guard points or ls parrys.
What a great breakdown and analysis of the moveset will be sharing this every chance I get. Thank you guys for your contributions to the community👏🏿 Also shoutout for using hunting horn most the video 👏🏿
Namielle Also Has Charge states, her first is obviously no charge, where all of her attacks that would induce thunderblight and set off puddles dont do either of that, her next one is when she is half charged, where those attacks now set off water, and her third state is when she is fully charged, which you can tell by her orangish blue coloring no longer being present and her being fully electric blue colored, as well as her whiskers being fully blue, this makes it so that all the attacks that hit water cause that puddle to explode and all of the water that is touching that puddle to explode. her fully charged state is also the trigger for her supernova, i'm not sure about this when she is AT though. That being said, the water randomly exploding in a bigger radius isn't random at all, it has to do with how charged she is.
One more thing about the Marching Beam, she always starts arcing it to her left then right. So if you happen to be close to her and infront of her, you can just circle around to your left. If you're far, you can try circling right but a dive is gauranteed to dodge it.
With normal Namielle, this used to be 100% of the time. But with AT Namielle, she does change it up sometimes like maybe 1 time out of 20 she will start on the other side. Ragegaming had a video about this too.
My far less technical guide: - Use Brachy GL with Guard 5, EW, and Guard Up. - Hop to the shoulder. - Spam poke shell/shell. - Guard through the ultimate, or whenever you can't hop to the shoulder. I had a lot more trouble with AT in HR. This was easy mode for AT MR.

The shock explosions can sometimes cover a pretty wide range. now if only all weapons had the same kind of recovery animations and sheathing speed, i swear ive never seen someone evade these attacks like that before
Here are weapons that have slower sheathing than HH: CB, Lance, Gun Lance, HBG, SA. Other than switch axe, all of those weapons have Shields which means they don't have to dive. SA is usually built with evade extender and has many moves that increase disengage distance. HH has one of the slowest recovery speeds as well. So if HH can pull it off, certainly other weapons can too. The reason you see many people not evading isn't due to recovery or sheathing speeds, its to do with them overcommitting on their attacks.
Design is really good on paper but the stupidly high amounts of HP combined with really poor hitzone values for raw when hydrated make the fight drag on too much. When a fight heavily encourages sticky lbg cheese there's something wrong.
The namiel Ult though , sometime the water puddle make a little spark before she hit the ground , completely stagger your char and ruin your superman dive....
Please, may you do an Artful Dodger - Raging Brachydios. It would be very helpful to a lot of low MR heroes who join and fail, I mean.. overly commit to helping me take him down. It would be very appreciated.
Always very informative. Am I missing something? You mention the green sweet spots a number of times in your video but I'm not seeing any marked green areas to stand (I can still guess tho based on your positioning).
This video is so helpful! Anybody have tips on guarding Nami's ult? I often don't have time to sheath and dive with CB. Sometimes I guard it and it barely makes a dent. But I once got one-shotted by it at full health & stamina, guard up & guard 3 + charged shield + guard point. I can't figure out when it's safe to guard. After watching this I'm thinking it might have to do with the puddles?
