I love the mystery of a scene that has not been fully fleshed out, it gives room for the mind to wander around in. I really enjoyed this build, the ambiance of the final shot and how it captured the feeling of a quiet moment really resonated with me!
I totally agree! I immediately started imagining the reason as to why she had stopped at this particular time and place and my mind just pictured a beautiful sunset over a dystopian cyberpunk city that she just had to stop for to take it all in, since these fleeting moments of peace and serenity have gotten so rare in her life. This diorama is so simple yet so beautiful, i absolutely love it
"The dioramas themselves are not made to museum diorama standards..." still your most simple dioramas are waaay better than any diorama I've seen in any museum. Love your work, you inspire me so much!
As always, what you call "good," I would call excellent! You are as good a modeler as you are a storyteller. As with your Wild Imaginary West, I hope that you will explore the world this young lady with the hover-scooter lives in with future "Concept Art" displays. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Love it. Ralph McQuarrie in 3D. The paint job came out great. BTW: Her friend drinks her coffee black (of course) and there is a Bear Claw and two doughnut holes in the bag. Just thought you should know. Excellent work, C!
This reminds me so much of 'Tales from the Loop' by Simon Stålenhag. The mag lift concept, unique change in history, even the 'Wild Imaginary West' could be all wrapped into the same altered timeline. I love seeing your work and hearing more about your thought process when designing/creating a project. This one has really captured my imagination so thank you for the morning daydream. :)
I never thought that dioramas could be concept art. I find I quite like this way of thinking and will have to remind myself of it when i sit down to craft next. Lovely little build, great vid.
i love this idea , and the philosophy behind it too ! looking at my own unfinished and taped together doodles as concept art really helped me feel better about rarely having time to "finish" something super polished your work definitely does wonders for the imagination, im a massive wild imaginary west fan and every addition makes me want more !! ❤
How can you say your dioramas aren’t works of art?? They’re amazing, incredibly detailed and imaginative. You are an artist dude. Extremely talented. ❤
The hover rail kitbashing was so incredibly satisfying seeing all the disparate parts together, but the final piece really speaks to me. The mood from the light is the perfect icing.
This was so dope. I like that the girl is a bigger part of the story. I think your humans are usually treated very secondary to the monsters or machinery they're interacting with but in this case she's equal to the scooter and it's cool. She's cool. It's all cool.
This is the start of alternative 80’s. In a world that went fully nuclear power and has cheap electricity for everyone. Future models will contain neon strands and more seemingly impractical uses of electricity. Loved it❤
I'd just wish a studio would pick up your imaginary wild west for a show or movie. I would love to see everything come to life. Like what happened to Tales from the Loop using Simon Stålenhag's art.
As much as I adore the Wild Imaginary West, this build was *chef's kiss*. It was also a good reminder that not everything has to be polished to the max (even if yours was).
My favorite video of yours in some time Boylei, and that's not easy. If you do more like this, I shall look forward to them. You have a remarkable talent for implying a deep word from a relatively small piece
That’s a good point about creativity and the creative process in general. There seems to be this notion that ideas and stories must arrive fully formed in your head. But the human mind doesn’t work like that (at least not always). It’s like an artist staring at a blank page and wondering why they can’t think of any ideas. The mind needs something to start from. A seed that that our creativity can then germinate and grow. The most creative and well crafted worlds all started from a simple, singular idea.
beautiful video and message! This is what I view all of my builds as but you have articulated it so well here! I have no idea how you get so much done for TH-cam in a single week but it is inspiring. Thanks for always sharing your craft with us
I would love to see more Boylei Brain Builds on the channel! Wild Imaginary West is great and all, but I find myself gravitating more to your stand-out stuff! Do what your heart commands! Live freely!
Great work! I liked how the scooter was slightly leaning giving the feel that the rider was putting her weight on it. I really enjoy this type of diorama. Thank you!
I love everything about this one. The rail being pieced together from spare bits into something cohesive and believable, the modded hover-scooter, the little signal lamp... love it.
Your concept art has created the idea of multiple universes. It's inspired hundreds of people to add their spins and ideas to those said universes. Love what you do. Thank you!
This man is a legend. You are the reason that i started making dioramas and kit bashing. You are someone i look up to as inspiration and i thank you go that.
Honestly, I feel like this would be a cool concept to explore, sort of like an opposite of the wild imaginary west. On one end you have monsters and lots of oranges, red, and browns and an older feel while with this concept you could make a whole futuristic world that focuses on sort of darker colors like blues, purples, greens, and gray/black. I feel like this would be a cool opposite to the wild imaginary west and it seems like an awesome concept to continue. This feels like the concept art to a lot of possible future dioramas.
This is incredible stuff - a neat concept visually, and as you pointed out, enough little details to hint at something more beyond the frame that someone could explore. Definitely want to pop back in a few months to see what story threads folks end up leaving in the comments. Your WIW stuff is always stellar and how I found this channel, but supremely excited to see you exploring more and different styles and themes with your craft as you continue. 👍
All I can say is wow. Your eye to see the idea in full is amazing. I would like to thank you for inspiring me to start painting again. I love your work
Absolutely BRILLIANT! Thank you for sharing. I've been modeling and painting for decades and have always wanted to kitbash a concept piece. This was perfect motivation to do so. A 10 minute video makes it seem so effortless while hiding the much larger amount of time it took, but the result is amazing.
The girls face is spectacularly painted. You can do no wrong sir. Every week I come to your videos for inspiration, techniques, and motivation, it always works. I truly appreciate what you do and the art you create. Thank you for sharing it with the world. Cheers!
Nicely said about the about art of do displays i've taken some of your way of make stuff to help in my making fo display building TY for doing these videos and keeping them real ! meaning show your mistake and how you over came them , other videos show the build went a 100% and thats never the case! Ty again and have a good Thanksgiving !
I LOVE this. And thank you for that part about setting away from what you normally do to "reboot" your creativity, I find myself in a rut right now and this concept has my brain bubbling.
I often find myself practicing my skills in stead of using them because creativity often escapes me. Younger me would laugh at how stale I have become, fortunately your content inspires me to try new things. Another awesome video, thank you.
Concept art is an integral part of world building and storytelling. It inspires those that want to create and helps them achieve what they wish to accomplish. Your videos inspire those of us who create (either by art or writing or building) to look inwards and use our imagination to our fullest potential in order to create something amazing. Much like you do here on this channel. Thank you for all that you do.
I dunno about polish but videos from you and Studson Studio have certainly changed the way I think about my art. I've started seeing potential in all sorts of materials. I appreciate the things you make.
Another great dio, I love it! I like to think she just went on the best ride of her life, got some pastry & latte & decided to chill for a bit while contemplating life's journey!
Would love to see you do more Sci-Fi stuff! I also love your Wild Imaginary West, I look forward to all your videos, everytime. I love the mild Cyberpunk aesthetic.
The simplicity of this diorama hides a deeper backstory and a tiny window into a whole new amd unique world. As a standalone piece this simply screams at me to fill in the story and flesh out the world that this young lady and her hover-scooter inhabit. A truly inspirational work of (concept) art sir!! 👍👍
This is the kind of thing I call a "sketch-bash" - i.e. making a concept / kitbash in small-scale with parts/greeblies that convey the overall look and feel - causing you to fill in any gaps with your imagination. It is a great way to test out sci-fi ideas with actual kit parts, before going bigger and having to fabricate stuff. I've made a few 1/35 compatible mech / droids with tank parts, to use as visual reference when I [one day] make larger stand-alone models of them. Meanwhile, those little "sketches" are great for adding easy detail to sci-fi dioramas.
As a writer, I find your videos, crafting, and imagination very inspiring. Like the concept art, your various works hint at a depth of creativity that is very exciting. I think that’s why I prefer your original stuff the most. Really makes my Sunday mornings.
In my opinion this is one of the best dioramas you have done in a long time and you have been making a TON of very great dioramas all year so that is a HIGH bar. Really great work here on all levels.
This kind'a gave me the feeling of a cross between "Cyberpunk" and "Blade Runner" and even maybe a little bit of the "Aliens" universe. Ya know that dirty lived in future that they all do. It looks awesome with out being over done. Super job man keep up the great work.
your refelctions at the end reminded me of the shortest story every writen "For sale, Baby shoe's, never worn" I think by Ernest Hemingway, it tells many storys but we will never know which is the true backstory.
This piece is stunningly beautiful! Also, the mindset shift of viewing your own original work as concept art is a great idea for fighting off the perfectionist!
This is just the exact same build I want to build, some random unansweard fantasy dioramas, but I dont have the ideas or imagination to build like this my self! But this was true inspiring!😮
Love it. This must be one of the best you done. Love the intricate simplicity of the whole scene. Small details that add to the big picture. Love the story around it. You are a master of imagination, story telling and model building my friend. Well done.
Concept art, kit-bashing, a blue scooter…all mixed together by Boylei. It is inspired, and it does inspire. Bravo Boylei!
I love the mystery of a scene that has not been fully fleshed out, it gives room for the mind to wander around in. I really enjoyed this build, the ambiance of the final shot and how it captured the feeling of a quiet moment really resonated with me!

"The dioramas themselves are not made to museum diorama standards..." still your most simple dioramas are waaay better than any diorama I've seen in any museum. Love your work, you inspire me so much!
Love the minimalism here. And though it's a great standalone piece, it also makes me really want to see more dioramas set in this world!
As always, what you call "good," I would call excellent! You are as good a modeler as you are a storyteller. As with your Wild Imaginary West, I hope that you will explore the world this young lady with the hover-scooter lives in with future "Concept Art" displays. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Honestly I like little snippets of a story. Sometimes it's better than a full one.
Love it. Ralph McQuarrie in 3D. The paint job came out great. BTW: Her friend drinks her coffee black (of course) and there is a Bear Claw and two doughnut holes in the bag. Just thought you should know.
Excellent work, C!
The way you just casually built up an interesting and compelling world setting in just a few sentences is the most inspiring thing to me.
A fantastic artist and brilliant storyteller, what a great channel .
The little tilt of the scooter is so perfect to convey the effect of her weight against the hover force.
You are absolutely right and I hope someone, someday, turns the Wild Imaginary West into something as good as the Tales of the loop series.
I never thought that dioramas could be concept art. I find I quite like this way of thinking and will have to remind myself of it when i sit down to craft next.
Lovely little build, great vid.
i love this idea , and the philosophy behind it too !

In my opinion,,,,, one of your best dios. So much space for stories and thoughts. I REALLY love it. Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing
I run Pathfinder and D&D games for my friends. I often look at concept art for inspiration for my settings
Your cleverness for conceptualizing never ceases to suprise me. Bravo.
The hover rail kitbashing was so incredibly satisfying seeing all the disparate parts together, but the final piece really speaks to me. The mood from the light is the perfect icing.

I really like the idea about concept art - that things don't have to be perfect, just visualise an idea.
I'd just wish a studio would pick up your imaginary wild west for a show or movie. I would love to see everything come to life. Like what happened to Tales from the Loop using Simon Stålenhag's art.

I love the composition of this one. Having her back to the light is perfect.
I would love to see more Boylei Brain Builds on the channel! Wild Imaginary West is great and all, but I find myself gravitating more to your stand-out stuff! Do what your heart commands! Live freely!
That light adds so much to this dio. Absolute stroke of brilliance there.
Total Awesomeness 😮
I wish I had this piece on my work desk as a reminder to slow down in life. I’m always busy doing something, she looks so calm and relaxed.
Great work! I liked how the scooter was slightly leaning giving the feel that the rider was putting her weight on it. I really enjoy this type of diorama. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this. Sometimes it's fun when you don't have the whole story. It makes things interesting.
I love everything about this one. The rail being pieced together from spare bits into something cohesive and believable, the modded hover-scooter, the little signal lamp... love it.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours. One of my favorite art styles is cyberpunk. I love the realistic futuristic look of it all.
Your concept art has created the idea of multiple universes. It's inspired hundreds of people to add their spins and ideas to those said universes. Love what you do. Thank you!
I love the "Concept art" idea. Thanks again for the inspiration!
Dang the spooky light of the lantern just hits perfectly
I never ever ever get tired of watching your videos. Brilliant
This man is a legend. You are the reason that i started making dioramas and kit bashing. You are someone i look up to as inspiration and i thank you go that.
Tamiya kits are some of the best on the planet. I have built dozens of them and can say I have never had a bad time.
Honestly, I feel like this would be a cool concept to explore, sort of like an opposite of the wild imaginary west. Yep. My new favorite Boylei video.

Dude. This is such a small piece that carries so much weight! Love it
This video is so inspiring!! I absolutely loved your talk about concept art 😆
Just bloody brilliant. From execution to inspiration to philosophical musings, I loved this. Thank you
This man never fails to deliver. Awesome as always!!
For some reason this build made me think of the game little nightmares. You should try making something from that sometime!
I dunno about polish but videos from you and Studson Studio have certainly changed the way I think about my art. I've started seeing potential in all sorts of materials. I appreciate the things you make.
This is one of your coolest builds yet, and that is saying something
Another great dio, I love it! I like to think she just went on the best ride of her life, got some pastry & latte & decided to chill for a bit while contemplating life's journey!
Great build.
The models you do are just mind blowing. I wish I was half as creative as you! Teach me!!!

You did it again, you just never fail to amaze. Great project, great story telling, everything. 👍👍👍

This is such a fun piece! I think I speak for many of your viewers when I say that we’re excited to see everywhere your brain goes.
I love the Campus Friends model set. The packaging to the actual models are a hoot.
You painting has come so far in just a short time. Thanks for the Sunday morning video, I look forward to them.
This one feels like a snippet from the tales from the loop timeline transposed into a big city. Its a beauty.
That turned out fantastic. The filter housing worked great for a light
Out of all the many of your projects I’ve viewed this one really hit me. I’m not sure why, but it did. Cheers.
❤ loving the wild imaginary dystopian future!!
I love this diorama. It has a very Alita, cyberpunk, or bladerunner feel.
Purest, poetry
This is the first time I've enjoyed poetry
Loved this little break from the norm. Refreshing switch up! Felt re-coded ❤️ And epic
this is my happy place.
As a writer, I find your videos, crafting, and imagination very inspiring. Like the concept art, your various works hint at a depth of creativity that is very exciting. I think that’s why I prefer your original stuff the most. Really makes my Sunday mornings.
I would love to see this as a live action show!
So inspiring. I found myself getting lost in the art piece and its imaginary story
Everything about this piece is awesome to me. Really resonates. One of your absolute best works.
This was interesting…
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
You have a wonderful imagination! I wouldn't have the patience to do half of the artistry work you do..... congrats on an amazing build Boylei!
Very cool. Has a neat cyberpunk feel to it. Love it.
In my opinion this is one of the best dioramas you have done in a long time and you have been making a TON of very great dioramas all year so that is a HIGH bar. Really great work here on all levels.

I’m normally a silent viewer but I really liked this diorama! I love the art style and the futuristic vibes 😍😍

The models are always great, but I think it's you narration and storytelling that really set this channel apart from similar ones.
This is just the exact same build I want to build, some random unansweard fantasy dioramas, but I dont have the ideas or imagination to build like this my self! But this was true inspiring!😮
I plan on going into concept art as a future career, so seeing you talking about it was so heartwarming. Thank you Boylei!!
Look forward to your videos every Sunday, always an amazing finish to the week.
This one is amazing! You should do more like this at this scale!
Love it. This must be one of the best you done. Love the intricate simplicity of the whole scene. Small details that add to the big picture. Love the story around it. You are a master of imagination, story telling and model building my friend. Well done.
I've been in a creative rut recently, thanks for making this video!
Keep doing what makes you happy, and we will never leave :)
It's so little, but has so much atmosphere 💜
