Really excited to finally get my hands on a new ski since my SXR 800, hell its been 5 years since my last race. Was first to get a reservation at my local dealer. I really want to get back into racing and I can’t see myself on the 1500 ship when the new SJ is a much more relatable ski. Though out powered by the 1500, I wonder how will they match up against 1500s and how IJSBA will class them. Of course I will probably get spanked to the holeshot (which is everything) by the 1500s, but I feel the SJ hull will out maneuver the sxr in the tighter turns. Whatever it is. I’ll be happy to line up and throw my skills over tech down any day. The biggest grin I have is this may be the ski to help kickstart more people on the line and give the sport the jolt it needs again. Dustin, I appreciate your review which tells a lot without even seeing one in person while the dealer has my money. I’m assuming with the cavitation problem, you haven’t installed a new scoop grate yet? Otherwise for me, perfect stock class ski. Bring it!
I own a sxr and stock I’ve pretty much beat anyone that’s ever tried to race me in the straight and turns and it’s faster with a few mods than any sit down ski. Only problem with it is that the size makes it harder to ride in my opinion than smaller skis and wears me out to the point of pain lol.
can we get a backflip artist on one?see if she sends well? Seems very playful from all the old school tricks being done by a guy as old as my dad XD, would buy over a krash if it can flip also is this with the kommander pump shoe in? with a few tweaks seems like it will be a freestyle ski, any trim mods yet?
A 400lb 4 stroke isn't going to flip guy not even close....let alone with only 100hp. Most flatwater freestyle skis are in the 230-260lb range RTR no fuel. This ski is almost 140lbs heavier. 4 stroke doesn't have the snap of a 2 stroke for flatwater tricks and way too heavy. Its a bouy ski and thats all it will ever be.
Awesome! How long does the 5 gallons of fuel last you? Do you find the ski to be short on range or endurance? Or could you use the ski for some long distance riding as well? Thanks!
My Yamaha dealer appears to have already sold out on the '21 Superjet. I'm tempted to get one but since I'm in my 50s and have a bad back I might have to settle for a GP1800R.
Yeah I’m curious how difficult a 155 would be to slide in. It almost sounds like a slipping clutch through the turns. Pretty awesome non the less. Thanks for the video👍
That’s Lake Pleasant for sure. ProShop Marine in Henderson will probably get some SJ’a and you could probably demo on Mead. Give them a call to find out.
Thanks for vid Dustin . Any idea what the bare hull itself , weighs? No hardware , no pump, no pole, no motor, no tank. Nothing , just the shell ? Also, did you put the VX tune on it to bump the HP up to ~113?
When ever I hear a ski skipping waves at the beach gives me instant smile lol

Thanks for sharing cool and comfortable
I had a 95 Superjet and an old 550 for years. I really miss them. How does this new one compare in terms of free ride/handling?

not sure yet but the 1050 is light on gas

Chris M go for it! Kids and grandkids are gonna love the thing
Sounds like it doesn’t like to stay hooked in the corners.
Hey Dustin what is Jettrim using to fill in the "boarding handle" i assume some kind of plug to fill the cavity?
they have a foam fillin piece
It sounds like the pump unloads whenever you turn. How does the 144 work with the 4stroke engine?
for sure the pump is the weak point , but we have a new scoop grate to help with this

Hello , 90 kilos is it too much for this jet ski ? 🙏
Could you link to the steering system and handlebars you are using?
as previously stated what will be done to make this more of a freestyle ski and why should i buy a yamaha over a krash?
Build quality.
hey dustin awesome video. what helmet are you wearing?
Fly racing
Looks like you guys are out in Mead. Any chance for a demo!?!
not mead

I want to buy one but I live in Pensacola Fl and nobody rides stand ups here...Only couches
Great guy and product🔥🥊
Hello Dustin, Did Yamaha Put in factory electric Bilge pump on the new Superjet?
no they didnt
Dustin, please tell me they’re building a new blaster with a V-bow and concaves like this hull?
if you tip it vertical like that, does the 4-stroke oil starve itself?
I think there is a flexible line that follows the fuel with a weighed valve on the end that moves wherever gravity and the oil moves inside the tank.
Dry sump
That look fun‼️
How is a steering kit already available?
Was just wondering the price difference between the gp1 and superjet
Did you pitch the impeller at all? Feel should of hit more than 57mph when exr can beat that.
not yet
Super jet looks heavy and wide. How is it to jump wakes and such?
Watch finnegan he did a review on it. Wet weight is 30ish lbs more and it is like 3 inches wider
actually pretty nimble for what it is
@@freedom4all219 its 440lbs fuel of fuel.
Where are you riding at? Looks dope!
lake pleasant
What mat kit do you recommend?
jettrim
Jet ski point at pleasant hope to run into you there
Jeez the cavitation 🤦♀️
we working on that
Dustin , put a tr1turbo please 😁😁😁
get a gp1 for that
First what were you getting top speed with the re-flash?
He said 2mph
@@MontanaFlyrr 2.5 mph so 57.5 i expect
we will have all the info up shortly as we go , its 114f and 2000ft elevation so not a fair gauge on real speed , everything is slow here right now
Are you guys going to try some different impellers/pitches?
Thanks for vid Dustin . Any idea what the bare hull itself , weighs? No hardware , no pump, no pole, no motor, no tank. Nothing , just the shell ? Also, did you put the VX tune on it to bump the HP up to ~113?
nice!!!
also, has anyone ever backflipped a gp1? google doesnt get any hits...would love a vid link
I highly doubt it. Too heavy and too long that isn't what its designed to do. No matter that power plant is in there
What is the point of paying top dollar for a fun toy just to have to put more money into it.
What lake is this?
Come on UK sort some out!!!
Mod 1: sell it and get a 701 sj lol
Nah can’t buy them new anymore.
Who even has these to purchase still?
It's so basic skill....you should do flip with this type of jetski....
in the surf soon
@@dustinmotzouris5707 You're the best mate...I wanna see it👍
This is a race focused machine, dont think this beast can be flip on flat water
this is not a race machine
@@dustinmotzouris5707 yes it is. Its 400lbs guy. Its never going to be a freestyle ski.
Too heavy too boring my man. Sorry, 701’s only here.
