      @Will Freeborn for pictures not that much different but for video it is a huge upgrade. The big difference is a lot more phase detect points and that will give you faster auto focus and stable focus in video. It will also focus better for pictures. But if you mostly use your A6000 for photos only you will probably not have much use for the upgrades in the newish sony alpha aps-c cameras.

    zv e10 is the cheapest camera to have excellent af in video, plus video af touch tracking, since, afaik, no other camera has this impressive af at this price (when bought new). the closest comparable af i think is canon r10, but the lack of proper lenses and more importantly no log profile makes it not comparable in these aspects. personally i find rolling shutter biggest downside, but with careful handling it might be mitigated in some proportion.. price is surprisingly cheap (and before r10, closest af comparable would have been i think canon r6 or sony a7iv both at around $2500, so the price was really really good in regards to af). i think buying it used is a better idea, since it might get even under $500. i dont understand why they put awb-lock starting with a6400 (then, i think?, a6600 and a7siii, a7iv), but they removed it from zv e10, even if its newer than a6400. it is a very useful feature.

    OK oaired with the ultra sharp sony 15mm f1.4 this combo is amaizing.
    A few notes
    1. The mechanical shutter make a noise of a truck so i swich it to silience
    2.the bracketing work like magic. one press and it fire 3 photos in a speed of a blink. access is using the weels (no need to go to menue)
    3. Sensor is Amaizing at ISO 100 but Noise start from iso 250 you see e in lightroom when i trurn off NR. This is happen under bar/Night lighting
    4.Selfie not possible due to self timer/:Interval shooting lock focus when you press. so if you change distance its not usable. fortunatly cheap bluetooth remote triger available.
    5.super lightwaight and discreate camera to shhot peoples. Make sure human recognision is on. (sometimes "Product showcast Set" is on and its disable human recognision)
    6. i never take out the SD card , just connect the camera to a laptop and transfare to a PC
    7. Geo tagging using "Imaging Edge" works well using bluthote only. setup once and its always auto connect.
    25P using PAL setting still get Crop so you need to shoot 24P for free crop.
    8. Make sure in lightroom you get the lens correction camera RAW for the 15mm f1.4. its a LCP File.
    This camera lens always get in focus resoults and this lens is the sharpest i ever saw in my life.

    I thought I was the only one that cared about Aperture priority in video mode 🤣. That is literally the only reason I didn't buy the R6 - bought the A7iv instead and have since spent another $5k+ on Sony lenses. Shame on you Canon!!

    • @TheHybridShooter

      Back in 2016, Sony has clearly said that APS-C means entry-level / consumer to them, so higher-end APS-C cameras from Sony are very unlikely.
      Seeing how the market is developing, it seems like a logical decision, to be honest.

      I would hope a new APSC body is in the works since they have recently released the 3 excellent quality wide lenses (11 f.1.8, 15 f1.4, 10-20 pz f4).
      And even though the zv e10 is using the old sensor, it seems R&D is still going into the apsc format.
      If they don’t release a new body I’d love at least an evf accessory for the zv e10.
      I strongly disagree that the APSC format is only for beginners.
      I have seen comparison portrait shots of an A7iv with the 85f1.8 and an A6400 with the sigma 56f1.4, I struggled mightily to see the difference.
      Secondly size and weight matter a lot in many circumstances. The times of war and censorship we’re living in, photo journalism is going to become once again a dangerous job, it will be better to attract less attention with a discreet apsc format than with a big full frame setup… Hiking and travelling : the comparison of an A6400 with the 70-350 and an A7iv with the 100-400 in terms of seize and weight is very significant, and the difference in the quality of the shots, very minimal in decent lighting conditions… We all know the saying “the best camera is the one you have on you to capture the moment”, a lighter, easier to transport setup will always facilitate that.
      And finally with the current economic recession and massive waves of layoffs, price is a big consideration and will be an even bigger one in the years to come, including for pros.

      @@luism.2050 Sony APS-C cameras are fundamentally designed for beginners / consumers / vlogers. The overall relevancy of crop formats for various types of usage is a very complicated topic. I had finished a trip in Indonesia malaysia and the philipnes with the NIkon Z6 28mm+40mm and never use he 40mm. Overall i had many out of focus photos. (never happned to me with DSLR) and also felt quite havey desite the pancket lenses.
    I ordered the Sony ZV E10 and the new Sony 15mm f1.4G as a travel camera. Cant wait to test this combo. Hope the image quality will get close to my Z6 at half the weight and also APS-C cameras tend to be more in focus due to the smaller sensor. (I had the nikon z50 and didnt liked it ddue to the slow kit lens)
    I will change Pal/NTSC setting to see if its crops at 25P. I also found that only 2 shoots bracketing produces amazing resoults when you merge to HDR in lightroom. You can pool crazy shadow highlights.
    Lets have fun now with that camera and wait to next generation ZV E10 with IBIS, and better sensor. the 15mm f1.4G should be amazing

Unfortunately for Sony, my iPhone 12 Pro Max just does the job I need it to without all the extra amount of time it takes to get a decent shot and process it, like all dedicated cameras. Still a very nice package especially at this price point. Thanks and Stay Safe. Always appreciate your videos.

    I'll be interested to see what Sony does with their APS-C line in the future. They have used the same sensor (as far as I know) in the a6000, a5100, a6300, a6500, a6400, a6600, a6100, and ZV-e10. It's a good sensor, but I believe they will have to upgrade it if they want to keep interest in this line. Furthermore, the rolling shutter will need to be addressed, as that's a huge weakness in my opinion. What I did not realize is that on the ZV-e10 the 30p has no crop in 4k, unlike on my a6400. I would like to be able to shoot in 4k30 with no crop, so that makes the ZV-e10 more appealing to me than it was before.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      As I have said in the video, Sony APS-C cameras are very pragmatic, so they don't necessarily have to fix those things, the target audience doesn't mind those downsides or older sensor technology. The price is much more important in this specific case.

    • @dennisolof9994
      @dennisolof9994 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Daniels Loose Ends the rolling shutter is a long running problem with most APS-C and Full Frame cameras, some more than others. But the big upgrades in the later sony alpha aps-c cameras are mostly for video. There are lots of other things that are upgraded but the big ones are for video oriented use. Also the rolling shutter is not that bad with the newer cameras, it was a lot worse I think.

    Sony will probably update it’s entire APS-C line during the next 6 months. They just released their new top of the line FX-30 featuring their brand mew APS-C sensor which has a much faster read out speed up to 120 fps. So we can count on 4k 60 fps for the next gen consumer level APS-C line up.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not really. The fact that they have put that sensor into FX camera means that wide adoption of latest technologies in Sony APS-C line is unlikely. Also, they wouldn’t have let Fujifilm use that sensor in X-H2S long before their own high-end APS-C camera if that was the case. We can’t count on anything when it comes to Sony APS-C.

    In no way shall ppl be made to believe that the rolling shutter on these sensors (and cameras, the a6xxx series that is) is acceptable and workable for eg. vlogging and otg-videos without tripod. It is horrible. And sony OSS is just good enough for compensating for that during handheld still shots at best. Basically the gyro-solution with a wide angle lens to crop from, is the only viable way.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No. The severity of the rolling shutter in handheld shots is directly proportional to the focal length. Rolling shutter on Sony APS-C camera is an issue for example at 50mm, but not at ultra-wide focal lengths that are typically used for vlogging. People won't be waving the camera around at 50mm. Standard vlogging shots are usually done at about 10mm, where the rolling shutter is not an issue at all, even at 16mm, it is still fine. Gyro stabilisation doesn't affect the rolling shutter at all, as it is "baked" into the video file.

    • @kinsiz
      @kinsiz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheHybridShooter Ah well I thought catalyst software could do that but then obv. not that advanced then. But about wide angle - I switched from sony a6300/6400 solely bcuz in no way was neither 10-18 oss or 16-50 oss or unstabilized 12mm lens 'unaffected' by the horrible rolling shutter. Dizzy while watching really.

    • @TheHybridShooter
      @TheHybridShooter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We will have to disagree on that. I have been using A6400 for a long time I have never had any major issues with rolling shutter at wide angles. At the point where the rolling shutter would affect ultra-wide shot, it would already be ruined by the movement itself, so I would qualify that as a horrible filming technique, not as horrible rolling shutter.

    Without EVF it is just for vlogging.

      No, it actually isn't. I have used it for other stuff, as you can see in the video, and it was completely fine without EVF.

      @@TheHybridShooter In strong sunlight the screen is almost useless, especially Sonys rather mediocre screenes.

      Not really, the resolution is mediocre, but the brightness is completely fine. I have mostly been testing it direct sunlight and I haven't experienced any issues.
      Those tiny EVFs that are usually put in this cameras at this price point won't help you much in direct sunlight either.

      @@TheHybridShooter When you put your eye into an eyecup no light will intercept.
      I have own an a6500 and now own an a7iv so I disagree. I have taken a lot of pictures in Austria too, and the EVF works ten times better than the screen even on a6500 with a mediocre EVF (and I of course used the eyecup).

      A6500 is completely different case, it has much lower brightness and a huge dim when shooting video. That was fixed in later Sony APS-C cameras, you can't judge ZV-E10 screen by the performance of A6500 screen. Also, cameras at ZV-E10 price point usually have even smaller EVFs than A6500, so that is not a good reference either.
