    An error here: I should have said Kanishka was 2nd century CE instead of 3rd. I apologise. That having been said, some authorities suggest a period from late 2nd century going into the first few years of the 3rd. I generally went by this later date.

    Salman Saheb. Ive known you from your books for a long time now. Especially all your essays on Railways are remembered by heart by me 😀 as i am also a railways buff.
    I got introduced to your channel via a tweet from Dr. Adil Najam a month or so ago and since then Ive now watched each and every video of yours. Just today I watched the last one available in your channel. I also added all the time of your content and looks like as of today all your videos time adds up to 30 hours, 18 min and 28 seconds - and i have now watched all of it. You are an amazing source of history and information. Respect 👍👏🙏

    I hiked to samarkand in 2018, toughest hike ever if you climb the mountain straight towards the fort. The fort has a commanding view westwards which was usefull back then with mongol armies approaching. The valley in the rear is beautiful with natural springs and ruins. I found no evidence of jalaluddin however found coins which the lady from lahore museum was nice enough to identify as Delhi Sultan Allaudin khiljis.

      That's strange. And a bit funny too. Khwar being from Khwarazm.

    My Lord!
    I think in 1992 or 1993 you wrote a column in DAWN under the title of GHORA THRAP. I happened to read then.
    Anyhow, really a brilliant episode!
    Thanks for this. 🙏

      That's right, sir. I did indeed write this article in 1992. But it was in The Frontier Post.

    At last, found out what happened to Jalal ud din Khwarizm. Some people still use khwarizmi as a surname with pride in present day Pakistan. It's no mean feat to escape Genghis & his murdering Mongol hordes and I don't think they realize how close they came becoming victims of the mongols
    The 1965 PAF squardern leader Sajjad Haider SJ who led the raid on Pathan Kot air field also belonged to the central asian clan , as related

    • @salmanrashid8880
      @salmanrashid8880 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We need to stop pretending to be Turks and Central Asiatic cowards. Let's just be subcontinental people.
