Very different scenario here. Greek and Turkish Cypriots do not hate each other. Lived side by side hundreds of years no problems. Today both cross the buffer zone daily and get on with life. UK and others seeded the concept of Greek and Turkish to divide the people to avoid Cyprus coming under sphere of Russia as Greeks had good relations with Russia and wanted independence and it they got it could allow Russian bases. Instead UK along with others drafted the most ridiculous constitution ( the only one of its kind in the World ever) that was doomed to fail all so that UK could retain 2 sovereign bases. Greek and Turkish Cypriots unknown by many are actually related ( many Turkish Cypriots are christian converts to islam to avoid ottoman non muslim taxes) and even today after all the issues want to unify their Island Not sure if these events in film are true but atrocities by Turkish Army did happen and probably visa versa. Ultimately the people that matter are the Cypriots and they want a solution it's just everyone else's agendas yet again creating the issues. Very different scenario here. Greek and Turkish Cypriots do not hate each other. Lived side by side hundreds of years no problems. Today both cross the buffer zone daily and get on with life. UK and others seeded the concept of Greek and Turkish to divide the people to avoid Cyprus coming under sphere of Russia as Greeks had good relations with Russia and wanted independence and it they got it could allow Russian bases. Instead UK along with others drafted the most ridiculous constitution ( the only one of its kind in the World ever) that was doomed to fail all so that UK could retain 2 sovereign bases.
Greek and Turkish Cypriots unknown by many are actually related ( many Turkish Cypriots are christian converts to islam to avoid ottoman non muslim taxes) and even today after all the issues want to unify their Island
Not sure if these events in film are true but atrocities by Turkish Army did happen and probably visa versa.
Ultimately the people that matter are the Cypriots and they want a solution it's just everyone else's agendas yet again creating the issues.
Most of the negative comments are from mainland Turks not Cypriot Turks you can tell from comments such as we taught greeks how to swim or we always protect our turkish brothers never heard such things from Turkish Cypriot
