I got 2 microbuttons with mine and a screw. I gotta say, the buttons are 10000 times better than the original. Local mechanic wanted 90 pounds for a new key, Peugeot themselves wanted a whopping 287 pounds for a new key. What the hell? I ordered a replacement on Amazon for less than 10. Also lots of kudos for the transponder chip. I honestly thought I just needed to put the pcb over in the case and be done with it. Glad I watched this video first :)

Thanks for this. So helpful. Mine was falling to pieces. Was going to buy a duplicate, but thought for 4 quid, I'll give this a go. Now have key in new case, new battery and it works better than ever before. Transponder was a tight fit, but got it in. Works perfect. Thanks for your videos. They have been so useful with this car that seems to have many common issues, like the indicator (my friend's one had this too). Also Sheffield based, take care!

@@aaanton11 Excuse the late reply mate, I'm in The Netherlands so I only have the Dutch site for you, but, from the picture you can at least tell what kind of flip case you would need in order for it to work! When I got it they had them on sale for 10,95 each.

Good, to the point, video on how to replace the key case on a Citroen C1. The little screw needs to right sized screw drive because it was a little fiddly to to remove. I used a drop of releasing fluid. The price of the replacement that he quotes has gone up to £7.99.

My button fall out same as in video, So I bought new copy case from ebay. It used to work fine but recently it wouldn't lock or unlock the doors. I thought it was the battery but it was the hard copy case. I opened it may times to fix it. When the chip was out of phone it worked nice. So I knew it was the case. Original button were soft and easy to press and new case were hard to press. So I found a small hack to make copy case button work better then the original.

Hi Anthony, thanks for the video! it is my first time trying to do that.. I put the little gray chip in the new case as you showed - nothing's happening when I try click open or close. Also the car won't run.. I have a guess that it might be because of that my new battery has a build in connected little " chip" of its own and it goes just above the place of that "old" chip.. I will add a picture to show...Should I remove it somehow? What should I do?

Great content. My Citroen C1 key blade is worn. It no longer allows manual entry of the front doors. It must be the key because the spare key still allows manual entry. Have you ever needed to get a new key blade cut? And if so, what would be the best places to get this service? Any ideas?

I tried replacing the battery, and the main case, and pulling out the little gray chip and putting it in the new one - nothing's happening when I try click open or close. Also the car won't run for more than 1 second (ECU immobilizer?) when I use this key fob now to start it. What should I do?

I'm looking to install remote keyless entry onto my Peugeot 107 - it's a 2011 reg with central locking but not remote keyless entry. Do I need to buy a kit off Amazon/ebay and wire it in or can I just buy a fob and programme that please?

This is great put my issue is that I put my car key in the wash by mistake and that's why the buttons don't work! (it'd be water damage to the circuit board rather than the physical buttons themselves).
Dealership it is for me!
The buttons will be corroded inside, it is possible to desolder the buttons and replace them but its not easy, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video! Do you have any idea why the buttons might not work in the plastic casing but will work when using the PCB alone? Changed casing (including moving transponder over) and battery but no different. Sorry to ask but am out of ideas ☹️

I threw away the old fob with the transponder, luckily it was still in the bin. Only realised when the car wouldn't start and managed to flatten the battery trying to start it lol. Wish I knew this prior to changing the casing.

My keyfob on the C1 has stopped working, I put a new battery and re synchronised still no joy. Any suggestions?
More than likely it will be One of the buttons has become detached from the circuit board might be worth using a soldering iron and just touching the contacts to renew. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I recently picked up a C1 2011 with two keys.
The centrol locking works with both keys,but they are not push button remote.
How do i get a a remote central locking button case?

Sounds like you might have an aftermarket central locking system fitted, you could upgrade that to a remote system Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Do city bugs use a lot of engine oil , my son did a oil change 5000 miles ago now the oil lights on and hardly any oil on the dip stick
They can use up to 1 L of oil every thousand miles this is an acceptable amount of oil usage I would always recommend check in once a week Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Well my ke its stoped lock the doors, its open perfectly but not locking. Also if you try to push the key in 80/20 its not going in all the way...

I have watch so many of these key case replacement videos and I have yet to see anyone of them follow static prevention procedures. Anyone who work within the electronics field know that modern day electronics understand that static electricity is your biggest enemy which can cause serious damage to most electronic components. Simply touching circuit boards without taking precautions can and often will, badly damage the ICs. i.e. remote car keys....

@@aaanton11 found it. Bought the car last week. The radio didn't work I checked the fuse at the back of the radio and there isn't 1, so bought 1 to fit and it didn't go in....
Turns out they don't have a fuse at the back, so I changed the fuse in the speedo for the radio and still no luck....
After some more digging F7 in the fuse box under the bonnet controls interior light, radio and somthing else it was missing!! I put a 15 in and boom everything works.
Left the car for an hour whilst I changed the battery in my fob and chucked that bit of plastic lol, it didn't start.
So im panicking thinking of blown another fuse....
This video and that bit of plastic saved me 💪👍

I did this without youtube. I didnt transover the little plastic chip. Then panicked because my car didnt start.
Called the roadside assistance and they fixed it.
