First of all, we need to find out who has been playing the Jumanji board game.

eXActly, considering there's a recent video of an elephant running in the streets of a Montana town
Is it really surprising? Florida is like Jurassic Park
Yep, there’s a bunch of old dinosaurs around here.
Not far off. In large groups, macaques can be very aggressive.
I mean look at south beach
That's a nice way to say full of ignorant nazis.

This may not be so funny. These could be escaped lab animals carrying any kind of disease.
These aren't escaped lab animals they have been here since 1938 and were released for a river boat tour
They carry Hep B, which can be deadly to humans
You're right these are lab rat monkeys but the government won't tell you this because it would set off a worldwide panic. And we wonder how COVID got started. 😎😎
Back in 1995 there was a movie made about a deadly disease being spread by an escaped research monkey...

Florida is the Australia of the United States.
Earth is the Australia of the Milky Way.
Brazil
There are no animals like monkeys in Australia. Australia has mostly small animals. No big cats, no big K9s, no primates. The biggest land predator in Australia is the dingo. Australia naturally does not even have foxes or coyotes. Australia is pretty unexciting in terms of wildlife. In reality North and South America is where wildlife is exciting.. North America alone has the largest land predators, has more wildcats than the rest of the world combined, has the 3rd and 4th largest wildcats on the planet, which are the jaguar and cougar, the cougar which has the largest range of all predators on the planet. The wildlife in North and South America is crazier than the rest of the world. North and South America also has way more monkeys. Monkeys in the Americas are called new world monkeys. and monkeys in Africa and Asia are old world monkeys. There are more species of new world monkeys. New world monkeys are smaller. live in trees, can use their tails for holding things, have nostrils that point left and right, and are way smarter than old world monkeys. Old world monkeys have nostrils that point forward or downwards, their tails are only for balance, and some have very small tails, usually do not live in trees, are bigger than new world monkeys, not nearly as smart ass new world monkeys. New world monkeys are so smart they make and use tools. Yes righht here in North America we have the most monkeys, most big cats,, largest land predators etc. No place on Earth has the wildlife you can find in North America. Damn sure not Australia. You will find zero monkeys in Australia, zero bears, zero wildcats, and their biggest land predator weighs less than 50lbs.

The report did not investigate where the monkeys could have possibly come from.
Inbreeding with the locals
Because if you're from Florida you know where they came from they've been here for almost 90 years
They’re from Shitcago…

Most likely they are coming from silver springs now defunct amusement park we had in the 60s-70s these animals got loose and were never recaptured
You know there was a movie about a virus spread by monkeys 😳
There was also the accidental playing of Jumanji.. 😉
Florida would be doomed if a virus outbreak happed because they don't believe in viruses.
cant wait for the new 28 days later movie.

There was also a virus spread by fauchi pretty recently

There are wild groups of them in the ocala forest near silver springs. They are a nuisance to locals and sometimes roam to new areas. Similar to the pythons in the everglades, the Miami iguanas, tribes of peacocks, wild parrots, and wild boars around Disney's swamps. There are critters in florida.
We have lots of tribes in Florida but they don’t consist of peacocks

@Rachel4954 the 1932 Tarzan film was partially filmed in Florida and had monkeys in the scenes filmed in Florida. You say they been in FL for around 80 yrs, put 2 n 2 together.

I live near silver springs where they filmed the Tarzan movie in the 30's and you can go on the river and see them everywhere but got to be careful cause the like to throw stuff at you and try to jump on or swim to the boat or whatever you're using to try to get to food cause dumb people feed them.

Shortly after moving to South Georgia I saw a dead monkey on the road who had obviously been hit by a vehicle, needless to say I couldn’t believe my eyes. I asked a long time resident if there were wild monkeys in the area and she said that it was possible because many years ago the Tarzan movies were filmed in central Florida and that when they finished filming the animals were just released in the area. I don’t know if it’s true but it doesn’t seem to be out of the realm of possibilities. Has anyone else heard this?
I heard there is an island off the coast of Georgia which is privately owned and has a rather large troop of rhesus macaques there for 70+ years, possibly longer than that. Since it's privately owned the general public is not allowed to go to this island. Monkeys are excellent swimmers so it stands to reason eventually a few will make the rather long swim to the mainland. My guess that's what happened with the one you saw dead on the road. The Florida monkeys are a similar story but I do not believe the one you saw came from that far away.
Check into privately owned island off the coast of Georgia and see what you come up with
@@williamstamper442
Is that the infamous Jekyll island?
I’ve heard the story about Tarzan monkeys and also that they were brought as a tourist attraction and some escaped the island they were on. There’s a population of them in Central Florida that’s been there, according to the boat guide, for decades. But I agree with the other comment that’s it’s possible your sighted monkey came from closer. So far it seems the Fl monkeys are still central, so maybe they hadn’t really reached Georgia yet. But anything is possible 🤷
@@williamstamper442 thank you. I’ll definitely do some research.

They were introduced to sliver springs park in the 40’s as a way to expand tourism to the park . The population became out of control there and now they are expanding their territory. Only natural.

Yes, I had a flashback moment.

A film company (I think Miramax) filmed a Tarzan movie in the 1930’s in Florida but it was before CGI and computers. So they brought in real monkeys to film the movie and they left them!.. now almost 100 years later they are still breeding and migrating. Things are going to get interesting.
🙊🙉🙈
Yea everyone for years always joked about them as no big deal atleast in my experience but I always imagined some kind of migrating deeper inland eventually. Looks like Caesar has made his move.
This isn't true the monkeys had nothing to do with tarzan a river boat tour operator Colonel Tooey released them here in 1938 for his river boat tour
This is something to take seriously, so for goodness sake don't feed them. When food is plenty then the numbers will increase and then you have a very big problem.
Why people refuse to hold their phone sideways for video recording is beyond comprehension.
I mean idk why you really want to see meacock sideways, the video is fine.

Not as unusual as you might think: there are at least 3 species of monkeys with established breeding populations living in Florida, all introduced some time ago. New construction/deforestation/development could've disrupted a few of them and then they wander around trying to figure out a new home.
There was a huge open park that was filled with multiple species. Probably escaped during a storm. They aren’t a threat

I saw a documentary years ago that said their were wild monkeys living in the Florida everglades that had gotten there because some couple in Florida wanted an exotic pet.
They had escaped or were let free I can't remember and they started a colony. They couldn't expand though because the trees they lived in was surrounded by alligator infested water which kept them contained to one area.
Either they've figured a way to spread out since the making of that documentary or someone's exotic pets are loose.
Florida is slowly becoming a jungle. Pythons, alligators, and now monkeys. What’s next? Felines and elephants?
The exotic pet trade is huge in the United States. Imagine how many of those animals get released on purpose or escape and never get reported. Anytime I hear about people seeing hyenas or big cats my immediate thought is they probably did see what they say they did. If a man in New York city can have a pet tiger in his apartment for years then seeing them in the wild where they shouldn't be wouldn't surprise me either.
Florida has a reputation for monkeying around. 😂😂😂 I has jokes haha!
