Video was real deal not edited to be like all others. I could tell the point where Danny cheered up as finish line was few days away. Thank you for the tip on camping sites. Really hard to bike tour with covid. I would recommend helmets (sorry) they are hot and uncomfortable but twice on trails I have nearly been rammed by deer not to mention connecting to trails (cars). I enjoyed your youth and enthusiasm. Thank you for sharing.
We camped at a few parks and locks along the way but we mostly camped at random places along the Canal. The Canal is all owned by New York State and, apart from a few towns which have laws against it, you can legally camp anywhere you would like next to the Canal.
They are. They're the raised Jones H-Bar and my handlebar bag is a REI Link Handlebar Bag. I think the performance of the bag is exceptional but the way it mounts to the bike could be better. I had to cobble together something to hold it on because the bag doesn't work with closed loop bars, only standard flat bars or open swept back bars.
Also, hope you signed up for the Canalway Challenge from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor! They and Parks & Trails NY would recognize you both as End to Enders!
@@choochoohikes Awesome! That spot at Lock E11 is along the separate trail we have, "The Eagle Trail" that follows the old towpath from Yankee Hill Lock at Schoharie Crossing all the way to the Southside of Amsterdam. A good nature path, unpaved, and lovely for walks if folks are so inclined.
Yeah. So Parks & Trails New York has a map book of the entire trail. The western terminus is actually the Naval Park in downtown Buffalo and it goes up to Tonawanda to the actual Canal.
Great trip, thanks for sharing!

Erie Canal Trail is gonna be my next out of state bikepacking adventure. Nice video 👍😎
Nicely done. Looking forward to the next one!
Great job, Jeremy and Danielle! We can't wait to follow along on the rest of the journey.
Where were some of your campsites along the way?

@@choochoohikes Thanks for the reply
Are those jones h bars on your bike? What handle bar bag are you using?

We did sign up for the End to End! We are working with Parks & Trails on a bigger project which will be discussed soon.

Did you happen to stop by Schoharie Crossing on your way through?
nice! How did you get from the Niagara river to the canal? Do you have a route map?
Yeah. So Parks & Trails New York has a map book of the entire trail. The western terminus is actually the Naval Park in downtown Buffalo and it goes up to Tonawanda to the actual Canal.
