    I do love me Niagara Falls. Town wise I prefer the Canada side. Falls side though I do love the American Park. Views from the deck are fantastic. Oh that rainbow was amazing. Lots of great tips. Shoes and an extra set of clothes if you do the Cave of the wind. I do love all the walking trails up and down the area around the river both above and below the Falls.

    We visited the Niagara side years ago and thought it probably wasn't worth visiting the New York side but after watching this episode, I do think we would really enjoy it for the more immersive experience.
    I didn't realize you can walk across the border, that would be cool to do too!

      It's worth going back to experience the NY side in my opinion. Especially if you do the adventure behind the falls or the Maid of the Mist. I want to do those next time we go to the US side. But from what I saw, the food options were better on the Canadian side, not to mention all the wineries we have here.

    Great video full of tips about visiting Niagara Falls! I haven’t been to Niagara Falls in decades so I couldn’t remember the details about each side of the falls. But it reminds me of Iguazu Falls where the Argentinian side was better as you could hike trails and be closer to the falls and nature. Whereas the Brazil side was good for photos from a distance.

    We really need better attractions on the New York side. The city needs a revival. Just a short drive down the street and the effects of industrial collapse and poverty are everywhere. The city of Niagara Falls needs the tourists; however the tourists need attractions. Tourisism can stimulate the economy, but without attractions it's hard to stimulate the tourism. This is the Niagara Falls, NY Paradox. Truly, most of all funding in the state go to NYC.

    • @nategoldin1982

      Just check who runs Niagara Falls for decades? Corruption on corruption. This is normal for democrats who care less about people What become of western NY is beyond imagination. 3rd world country. Indeed, u cross back the border from Canada and the difference in full display. Poverty and hopelessness for those communities

      It depends which side you want to spend time on. The Buffalo airport is probably closer to Niagara Falls in general. I think the Canadian side has more to see and do as it's more of a tourist spot. And Niagara on the Lake is a beautiful spot too. But the US side has great nature trails along the falls.

    More things to see and do on the Canadian side. Like a small Times Square and small Coney Island. The neighborhoods surrounding the falls on both sides don’t appear to be very safe. Reminds me a lot of Atlantic City. Seems that all the proceeds line the politicians pockets and nothing goes to the community (and I’m sure they were promised the exact opposite). I would suggest bringing your own food or keep it simple (hamburgers/hot dogs). All the restaurants and buffets advertise “authentic home cooking”. There is nothing authentic about the food on either side of the border. These are all tourist spots. Wife and I visited “mama mias “ Italian restaurant. We would swear it was Costco’s frozen meatballs and chicken cutlets. Reminded us of Venice. City was amazing. Food was not so great and it doesn’t have to be because they know you’re here today gone tomorrow.

    • @TheAverageTourist
      @TheAverageTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's unfortunate that the area is quote over priced like most tourist destinations. And agree... they can charge what they want because they know people will pay it. We are from the Canadian side so it was a nice change to experience the US side of the falls.

      @@yankee04Yes, the tourist section is pretty much where you’d want to be if you’re visiting. Its nice & has an okay variety of things for anyone to explore, especially the trails along the Niagara Falls (NY side). As far as the inner city? Not much to see. Take it from me, I was born there.

      There's definitely more to do on the Canadian side. I just liked the nature trails by the falls on the US side as a change of scenery and perspective 👍

    What a load of bs misinfo this video is. There is way more activities to do on the Cdn side. Lengthy free walkways, paid walkways, zip lining, a tram-type gadget that takes riders down a cliff beside the waters, boat excursion into the mist of the falls, tunnels take you to various spots underneath the falls. The tunnels lead to various viewpoints, including a large viewing area directly beside the falls. Another tunnel lets you watch the water come down in front of you. Shuttle buses take you near, and from the farthest away parking areas right to the ticket centre. A large food fair in the ticket centre downstairs. There are also touristy trinkets. A sheltered outdoor area for resting and eating at the end of the line for the boat tour. The shuttle buses take you to the end point of the area, which is at a bottom of a hill that takes you a short walk up to the local community eateries, casino, bars, more touristy trinkets etc. You park your car for a set day price, and the shuttle transit buses take you where you want to stop at the Falls.

      This video wasn't about the Canadian side or implying there was more to do in the US. It's a completely different experience. We've visited the Canadian side of the Falls many times, and I have a separate video on that listing things to do. Thanks for watching!

      I don’t want to do all the super commercial, arcades, etc. Some sections look like Vegas. Hard pass. Would do falls related things, but the kitschy things, no.
