John Deere 450C fixing the pond cut

  • The water level was getting a little too low so I decided to knock down one side to fill the cut in some. I used some old sidewalk slabs to help control the erosion also. The reason this hasn’t been fixed for people who may ask is because I couldn’t get the equipment for rent and then I’ve been buying up land around this section of property. The down payment got up to $7,500 and $10,000 for both parcels. That kinda drains the bank account down pretty low. I’ve already bought new bigger and stronger culvert pipes and already buried them on the other end.

I know this is a year ago but when we had pond problems we lined the dam with a special type of clay that waterproofed it. I think we did it a foot deep . Its almost 30 years and still hanging strong

Yea I’m looking for that clay. It’s bentonite clay and I hear some feed stores have it.

I’ve actually got this one done back in early June. I have the video up on my channel. it’s actually fixed right this time. This video was just a Band-Aid fix. I’ve been seeing several 450 John Deere’s in our area for sale on Facebook. I am roughly 20 minutes south of Waverley.

Slow rebuild. Clean up the ground so it's solid. Like the saying Rom waned build at one day. Good work!

As of a week ago today I got it fixed. Hopefully it packed in good enough to hold and I think it has. Waiting on the rain to move in right now. Should be here soon

you should make the overflow concrete

I’d really love to do that but the cost of making a road to get it Down here would be very high. I’d need a lot of stone to make it passable for the cement truck. Hopefully in the future that’s what it will be. I’m paying on 3 mortgages right now also so that affects that also.
