I'm new to the business and on a smaller scale of course because I've only been in the business for a couple years so I watch videos like yours to learn, I have a question if you don't mind answering, why didn't you use the excavator to dig the muck out dump it in a dump truck and do a short haul and dump it then spread it after it dries out? The excavator can move material faster and it's gone after a scoop. Dozer just seems like a slower process in mud.
By the time I pitch the mud 3 or 4 times with the excavator it's just as fast to push it through the pond dam and to load and haul the mud my dump truck would only haul 3 buckets of mud at a time and it would not climb up and out of the pond without getting stuck on most ponds I prefer to load and haul thanks for watching
Good morning sir. This working with ponds, seems to be quite common in your genre. I also see this in other contractors' videos. As far as I know, this is very unusual in Sweden.
The pond had to be filled in in a certain time frame there was not enough time to let the mud dry inside so we pushed it out the back then filled in the pond
@southerndirt9589 I was just curious is to why you were removing the muck or mud. We fill in 60 plus ponds a yr and never do this method. We drain them first as you have done. But digging out the mud or bulldozing out the mud no. We go with a base, compact it, and then start filling it in.. I'm not saying there's a wrong or right way to do it. Just was curious is all.
Nice Muddy Project! 💪🏼
Thanks for watching
Awesome vid man!
Thanks for watching
Nice job, i have never seen anyone push mud through a cut like that.
I"m obsessing on dozers! I want one so bad!
Do what I did. Buy one and proceed to a divorce. I kept the dozer so I’m complete and happy. 😂
@@Thedudeabides803 Haha! Congrats!?

Good morning it is very common here in the us to clean the silt out of ponds to hold more water in case of drought thanks for watching
@@southerndirt9589 It is unusual for private individuals to have a pond here.
@@makingithappen5178 here we have them for livestock we don't have well water so thus is the cheaper alternative than getting it from the city
@@southerndirt9589 Ok.
Where did you clean this pond out at. I'm from Alabama.

I live in Walker County
I do a good bit of work down that way

My question is, why not just fill it in?

Bunch of muck in that pond understandable if had cows In it. Are you going to spread the mud back over the top after it dries some. Have a good one
No I just pushed it out into a low spot so that we could fill the pond in
