What size is that small JD dozer? My Dad had a JD 450 about 20 years ago. Really handy to have a small dozer like that for finish grading a light duty work………although we dug our fair share of stumps with it too!!!
We consider one.. We stripped all the gravel down to hard pan clay. So the entire damn is clay. Few weeks after we dug it, we had a big rain that unexpectedly filled it. So we just went with it. Has held water since and have dyed the water. Never have found any leaks.
You didn't dig a pond. All you did was push some dirt around. There's no core trench in your dirt dam. The pond dam should have been made out of hard clay. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
A D8 is a big boy, but honestly a piece of equipment is only as good as the operator. This guy is extremely skilled. Tiny pond, but well done sir.
how doubt that "dam" holds up on the low side though
Grt wrk guys
That D8 is incredible
Very Nice work Gents!
God job brother 👍👍
You saved the tree in the middle,God bless you
Is that tree still doing well?
I have a D8H & Cat 312 trackhoe and was wondering how long it would take me to dig one
Wow just wow ?
How long would have taken you to do the same job with a D11? Good job, by the way

It is a 450c. Has been handy to have around.
did the tree in the middle live?
How much did the build cost
I thought this dude a had a pet leopard at the beginning
No compaction needed? I know an 8 is heavy but I would be afraid of seepage.
I thought we would have needed a core trench, but it showed no sign of seepage. Even put dye in while looking. Drops less than a foot in summer.
Earth carving
What size is it
Can this be dug down to 10-12’ with a dozer Or would I be better off with a th
This pond ended up about 9.5 feet. We were into hard pan. Hit hard pan almost immediately.
Wow! Size matters. Wonder how long that would have taken to dig with a D5?
Why not use ACCO Super Bulldozer? It will be faster.
Abt triple this
@@sihilius like they have one!
If I could ad a picture 1 year later I would.
Wow a guy forgets how small a d8 is. I thought that was a d5 at first lol
Can I hire that old man and his Cat?
Sure you can if you were local!
How is that pond holding up...
I’d be impressed if it held water.
@@erikcourtney1834 me too no core trench for dam
real half ass
Pond is full still, only dropped about 8"
@@jeremyjohnson342 dropped 8” after it filled completely? How long has it been since it reached the full mark? Had much rain?
We dug it July 5th and It filled up July 19th of last year! We got about 4" in 4 hours and filled to the top
What music is this?
I answered my own question. The song is Beasts by Max LL.
No core trench? Oops.
