Such an adorable game! I haven't had the chance to play it myself, but I think I'd cry every time the cat will die (thank you for not showing that). Games where you play as an animal tend to have my immediate attention anyway. Maybe you remember Ecco, the Dolphin. That game was famous back in '94 and got a remake or a reboot I believe around 2001 on the PS2. You did sound indeed very tired in the narration of this video so it's helping that you said you were diagnosed with Covid. I hope you'll get better soon.
As beautifully realistic as Stray is, real cats wouldn’t care if they got separated from their families therefore defeating the whole plot of the game.
But, this game isn’t really about cats being realistically used. If this were a real life scenario, this cat would not only not care, it would also be dead. Sure, there are realistic elements. But this game isn’t based in reality, nor does it have the same rules as reality. Realistic or not, I don’t really mind, as long as it’s consistent with the writing. Is the writing perfect in this game? I would say no, there’s a few things that were a bit too convenient for me in a couple of sections. But if this game was to be made to be a perfect recreation of a cat simulator, it would be a lot different. But I would say that took some liberties in designing this game. And made the cat more human, for the audience to relate to! But I get where you’re coming from, I just don’t think it works in a scenario like this one. As long as the writers set up the rules and stay consistent to them, then I’m fine with that!
@@introvertedrobot But for the most part it is about a realistic cat, as the game’s whole concept, niche and charm is that you’re playing as a cat (also notice how little do they show “human” things in the trailers? instead, it focused more on the relaxing atmosphere to give us an idea that it is a normal cat and you get to play as it). So what I said isn’t necessarily wrong, I just expected more from the plot since the game looks promising, but that’s just my opinion after all. Thank you for the explanation though.
@@QT_Jeanne fair enough! The game is mostly focused on a cat doing cat things, whilst making the cat have subtle human characteristics. Like caring about the robot, and wanting to find its family. And fair enough, like I said, the plot is pretty simplistic as it goes. While this game’s plot isn’t for everyone, it certainly does have something I think that everyone will like! And all good man, it’s definitely interesting to hear another persons take since I always love to hear what people think of something I liked/disliked! Thank you for your input! :)
Saw the game on a game review first. Looked interesting, now your video was recommend to me. Watched the full video, thank you for your impression. Now the game is on my Steam wishlist.

All good and thank you! And yes, I have heard of Ecco the Dolphin! Classic game!
Stray IMMEDIATELY made us care for the characters just from the simple fact they're cats, 10/10
this is easily my favourite video you've ever done :)
Thanks Sasha!
He’s also mine!
