I had a squarebody truck years ago that had headers and gkaspacks attached to the headers and turnouts under the doors ...super loud . So I added a set of supertrapps (the mufflers that are shaped like megaphones and have a stack of thin washer looking baffles like they use on dirt bikes but made for cars ...) It quieted it down and sounded awesome and actually increased hp to boot
My brother has a 96 s10 with a fully built 454 big block in it tubbed out open headers the thing chops nasty. Great job on your build. Im still working on my s10.
With my last camaro when I got it running I just bolted on some dyno max header mufflers with turn downs. It was so rediculasly loud. Eventually I acquired some 3" pipe and Borla XR-1 oval mufflers dumped at the axle. The car was SOOOO much quieter. Sounded good, you could still talk in the car while driving and was only loud when you wanted it to be.
I did pretty much the exact same exhaust setup on my buddy's '56 Chevy truck, what was more alarming than how loud it was, was the amount of exhaust fumes that came straight into the cab. Unusable. Ended up running it all the way out the back.
David Vizard just did a vid on exhaust notes very interesting!!!! But bro I am with you ! My cutty has 4 inch to the back axle and it’s real deep ! Drives me nuts! I want sleeper ! Seen a guy down the track with a 67ish big block nova he was using spin tech I guess the outlaws straight through one but dang his stuff was quiet ! Sounded like a jet lol
Sound deadener, carpet, and both exhaust tips exiting on the right (pass side) like NASCAR Cup cars. You have saved me so much problem by doing this series, that I can't thank you enough. But I think I'm going 3 Inch, with a crossover, and right side dumps in front of the rear wheel. And the sound suppression flooring with carpet. Will document, but thanks again for saving me 100 hours of horse$hit. I truly appreciate it. Did you see where Eric W. got Lemons hedders?
This is one of those times where a cut-out makes sense as long as it's legal where you are. Slap some quiet mufflers on it and drive around in comfort all day long then when you're at the track, get rowdy. Also, you have the skills and equipment to slap an X-brace up in that frame. What are you waiting for? Maybe do it, the driveshaft loop, and your next exhaust design together as they are all going in the same area. It's really not a massive difference in time or money since you'll already be in that part of the truck anyway.
I just run the sanderson shorties.2.5" collectors Cut the flange off then take a peice 3" about 2' and drive it up to where the pipes just start in .ping it in tight around then weld it solid put the header flange on the end but bend it straight towards the rear and your exaust flange then will be easy to get to
I know what you mean about it being too loud. My brother's truck with open headers was unbearable. So we put those three and a half inch FX straight through mufflers on it with an x pipe and it sounds perfect.
Before ya go an change much i would try turning the turn downs inward so that they point towards each other under the truck. It wont change much but it made a difference on my car. At least it made it tolerable inside the car. Only thing is to have a conversation i gotta let up on the throttle an coast to get a few words in. Personally i like it that thing sounds pissed off.
Man I was hoping that exhaust would work out for you but in the back of my mind I knew it was gonna be pretty loud. I had 3 inch bullet mufflers on my Camaro the exhaust dumped right before the rear axle. It had all types of resonance. It was horrible. Made everything in the car vibrate and rattle. I took it off after about a week.
I am building a 1936 Ford Pickup with a 409 in it and I will be running straight pipes. It should be louder then that and I just won't drive it after 10 p.m. haha!
I have 3 1/2 with the flow fx ran to rear.end on my ls swap sonoma, and its loud af,obnoxous and changing mine cause its not comfortable to ride in that loud
Better wrap those headers or they're going to melt your sneakers to the floorboards, why not just get shorty block hugger headers and run the exhaust inside the frame?
Thanks, much appreciate your efforts as it's a real pleasure to draft behind you.
Fender exits are the shit !! Love it on my nova. Street driver.

Just ran across your page and been watching your vids, nice ride, we race at custom ts also for the same reason lol

Tell me your getting old without telling me your getting old.
I am old lol 😆
My S-10 had the noise issue and I had to get new mufflers. That echo and vibration was overwhelming. Nice S-10!
Love your s10 stuff I am doing a 1996 GMC Jimmy

4:57 I caught that, good one lmao!
Almost like socialism too lol

Thanks for info on cam .. remind me what comp ratio again?
11.5 or so
omg super pro mod sound ... nice but yea cant drive that like that takes the fun away

Any way you could weld in a electric exhaust cut out, do a quiet chamber muffler hit a button bam 💥 blow ear drums
Can you tell the details on your wheel and tire package? model wheels? sizes etc please?
Either just go out the fender or run the system further back to move the muffs behind the cab.
She is rowdy for sure. 👍
Oh, “Boo Hoo Tissue Beverage” you want some Cheese 🧀 with that Wine 🍷…. lol 😂 🤣🤦🏻♂️
LOL I hate it 🤮 So I'm changing it 🔨🔧
@@TPVPRO I’m just messing with you, I couldn’t resist! Truck sounds great I can’t wait to see how much faster it is! 😎😎😎
How about some Burns Stainless mufflers, that are the length of the cab?

I love the straight through mufflers. They sound great and drastically lower the noise.

I understand I just had the same experience with side pipes on my 65 c10 ended up selling the truck !
i love the sound :) make 1 pass to see what it runs
1. Headphone users beware!!!
And
2. Listen to them birds chirp!!!!

Yes I've been there

What kinda of transmission is that?
Get you some ultra high temp silicone and put on the primary tubes before you slip them in the collector.
Do you guys use exhaust paste to seal slip fittings?
I'm not sure what that is so probably not.
@@TPVPRO think it's a u.k thing but it will seal your slip joints if you can get hold of some 👍
I just welded everything up that was a slip.
@@TPVPRO awsome I'll be following 👍❤️
I have 1985 s 10 with a z28 motor
I’m trying to figure out a loud exhaust
Don't do it lol.
Howdy neighborhood
I have 3 1/2 with the flow fx ran to rear.end on my ls swap sonoma, and its loud af,obnoxous and changing mine cause its not comfortable to ride in that loud
What's the part # on them headers
th-cam.com/video/efR3v76hxNc/w-d-xo.html Check out that video, and the link is in the description of that video.
3 1/2” is too big. U have a very nice motor but 3” is plenty. Would help with routing as well. Just my 2 cents tho. Keep up the good vids tho
May be too big just motor but when the kit hits a 300 shot it will be good @ 3.5.
I've been running open headers on my engine in my 79 Camaro got pretty much the same combo in my 406
Street car 100 times more fun than all out race car
Doooo eet!

Pypes m80
That style muffler doesn’t help………
I think it helped make my teeth rattle.
Borla multicores....
Where did you hear communism was a good idea?😊
