I've been trying for years to remember this game i rented way back in the day on ps1 and could never figure out what it was, and I'm about 90% sure now that it was Tomba. I literally spent some time watching a compilation of EVERY ps1 game, but didn't make it to the T's. Thank you so much for this video
This is my favorite childhood game, I played both the original and sequel multiple times. I can't wait to bathe in the blackjack swinging, sandwich munching nostalgia.
It’s surprising that these games didn’t perform well, considering they received favourable reviews in various gaming mags back in the day and had lots of positive word-of-mouth by many of my Pro Sony buds. In fact, until this video I always assumed it was a Sony IP but it turns out they only had exclusivity to the NA publishing rights? I feel the same way about constantly having to jump in and out of menus; it gets old very quickly. If anything, they should have implemented some sort of quick swap feature using the L/R bumpers, similar to what was seen in the Mega Man X games. Great vid as always, Dario! Thanks for reminding me about the remasters comin' out next month!
Yeah, I agree. Poor guy was only able to make 2 passion projects and his company went bankrupt. Ever play Madworld? I had no idea this guy was tied to it. Thanks for watching man!
@@Dariothehungry Yea it is a bummer as the dude clearly was talented and had a solid team to back him up. Yep I do own MadWorld and I had no idea that the creator of Tomba! was involved with it haha, learned somethin new today! Speakin of MadWorld that's another one that they should consider remastering...
So now that it's released it seems it offers a remix sound track and original, save states, and rewind, and that's it. So yes. You can. I think it's 20 bucks digital so not bad but yeah, I'll stick to my ps1 version.
It's a "special edition" with quality of life improvements like saving when you want, rewind features, and the cutscenes are uncompressed. The graphics aren't being reworked, they do also have alot of bts like interviews artwork and such.

I am incredibly happy for this rerelease.
@@TacohandsPvP it's very exciting! I'll end up getting it even though I have it on ps1

Dario! Great work sir.
@@Dans-rx1vu Thanks Dans. I appreciate it.
Why couldn't we get a proper Remake? I dont's think I'm gonna buy this (at least for full price), when I can get the same experience with an emulator

why is the editing so spooky?
🤷♂️ I am what I am.

The fact they couldn't do an Xbox version will forever irritate me
@southpark159753 I do not, for the life of me understand why they skipped out on it.
I'm no business person but it feels like it wouldn't lost money?
It’s only a rerelease? I thought it was a remaster.
