It would help to move the steering wheel left to right several times while you're starting the tractor to unload the hydraulic pump. It make it easier to start.
8 cylinder radial hydraulic pump upon starting should go out of stroke after a few revolutions! Moving the steering wheel back and fourth will cause demand on the pump thus creating head pressure! There is another problem! Needs diagnosis.

Dump about 7 full cans of starting fluid into the intake . That way it will start easier
You most likely took 3/4's of the life out of that starter !!!!! Better you buying the starters than someone else !!!!!
they're called ENGINE BLOCK HEATERS .......
They're also called , having half a brain for christ sakes , PERIOD !!!!! You can easily start the tractor on fire like that !!!!!
