I just picked up the game today and dove into it. I use HOTASAS, dual stick and throttle (T16000m and TWCS throttle on the left (throttle is basically a button box), MS Sidewinder FFB2 for the right stick, I have another T16k but the yaw on that one keeps going out and I got tired of fixing it over and over). Same config I use for Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous. I got everything bound just fine, and everything works just fine, but my issue is the yaw is way too sensitive, and messing with the (very limited) sensitivity option in the game doesn't seem to do anything. I had to resort to "gasp" turning on the aim assist in the options just to be able to hit anything in combat. Which is fine I guess, I can RP it like I'm using gimbals like in the other games. It seems to work just about the same.
Bravo! Between all the idgit fidgiting of initial startup there was not enough time to learn HOTAS within the 2 hr window on Steam. So I will Re-buy this on .. GOG as they have a 30 day policy but I will wait till it gets some polish. Thanks for the Vid!

I felt dumb because I didn't realize "secondary steering axis" actually meant "roll" and not.... "secondary steering axis." So thanks for this, it alleviated my momentary lapse of cognisance and I'm now enjoying HOTAS and flying feels nearly as good as ED. (Elite Dangerous, not Erectile Dysfunction.)

I got a x52 pro for €80. going strong for years minus the deadzones, but got used to it.
I decided to look at X3 again after I bought my HOTAS for Arma 3, DCS, ED, and SC.
Seeing you talk about the warthog being fancy made me chuckle but on a serious note.
Does X4 support 3 separate usb devices? I have x8 axis controls, x2 8-way hats, x6 4-way hats, and 6 regular buttons. Yes all of the games I've mentioned above fully support what I have.

FYI I know this is late, but the game wasn't bugging out when you were teleporting to your ship, you were holding down shift while trying to strafe to the right, shift+D which is the shortcut for teleporting to you ship lol.

I'm glad to see it works, and to hear it feels like E:D. In your opinion, is it necessary? Does a HOTAS improve the gameplay vs M+K? Does it get in the way with keyboard shortcuts?
I'd say so - but only for the flyey bits. I can't have all the controls for ED just on my HOTAS (too many buttons!!) but X4 does a really nice job of segregating flight with non-flight stuff so you can switch really easily. Flying feels MUCH better on a HOTAS - but as always each to their own.

How can you bind the HOTAS for cloud gaming on GeForce Now Streaming Service?.
The HOTAS works on the main GeForce menu but once X4 or ELITE is launched it doesn't work at all.

Okay, so apparently DEL button is set to Close Menu in the menu navigation settings after having loaded up the Saitek x52 Pro loadout settings. I don't know if this was an updated intended thing or something but it's really annoying that I have no way to just delete button mappings to put new ones in. So what button is the "new" delete button if they intended to change the function of the delete button to closing menus? Really frustrating bullshit, if you ask me.
If I remember correctly you can clear a binding by highlighting it and placing either delete, or escape. Tweak depending on your style. Atm i only need the KB when walking around or opening the map
I HAVE A probelm with the map moveing like it just moves up when im in build mode its ccazy and makes really had to play
You know, I have the same HOTAs, and every time I pull it out, set up the keybindings... I always end up going right back to keyboard and mouse. There is just something that doesn't feel right. Maybe its Thrustmaster X, or I'm just spoiled with hotkeys and a high precision mouse.

Shift+D is the keybind for going to your ship.
Run is double tap forward key.
I rebound run to W. Never a scenario where you actually want to casually stroll

I have the Thrusmaster Hotas X. But, no matter how I set the bindings, save the profile, load the profile, Nothing seems to work right. I pull back on the stick, it goes down. push forward on the stick, it goes down also. I have had the game for a couple of days, and I am about to throw my hotas through the monitor and give up on the game I just paid for.
Hmmm. Possible that the hotas itself is damaged? Have you tried it on other flight games?

@@NovaKaneGaming I just ran it in E.D. (for some reason I feel uncomfortable saying that!) Everything worked fine there. I will keep trying.
@@jamesrepp8904 in your c drive my documents folder, look for egosoft and navigate to controls or bindings. Delete those files then validate x4 files via steam. This should reset it. Remember your hotas MUST be connected and recognised by windows BEFORE you launch x4.
Had the same issue. Go to support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/tflighthotasx-en/ download and install the drivers for the OS.
Plug your joystick in...Start X4 and you should now see the Thrustmaster Hotas X now has its own "Controller Profile". You can edit the mappings and then save as a custom profile. Just name it whatever you like.
