- The UK TV licence people are always trying new ways to scare people into buying a TV licence.
The latest scare tactics letter implies that someone has been using iPlayer at your address to stream live TV programming. The letter doesn't give any details because they don't have any. I wonder how many unnecessary family arguments have been started by this letter.
If a TV license sales person comes to your house. Just say 'no thank you' and shut the door. You do not have to talk to them and you do not have to let them in your house.
Funny I came across this. I've had both a letter and an email in the past 24hrs.
Reminding me that I need to redeclare my lack of interest in paying my BBC tax...
We're a young family and have not had any interest in watching live TV since long before we lived together.
I actively avoid iPlayer, simply out of conscientiousness, but have also had the threatening messages to the effect of "Someone at your address has been accessing it". I ignored those threatening letters and they also went away.
For the avoidance of all doubt I have removed the aerial cables into the loft or our property, in case of a visit from a mythical TV license inspector while I'm out and about.
I've also got that popcorn bucket. I also have anything but popcorn in it!
I got my new letter yesterday put it in a new envelope & sent it back Royal Mail can pay the post happy days almost 7 years free Matt
I like getting the TV license letters … I put them straight into the paper shedder and use it as lining in my hamster cage 👍🏽😎
i think that its wrong for the bbc to still expect £169.50 a year if someone is paying for a tv subscription. sky tv or virgin tv because they are already paying to watch tv
Actually they're trying to obtain money by deception, report to them to trading standards or the police !
Their letters are excellent for coffee spillage 🤪☕
I wouldnt pay it on.principle i cant stand the BBC
