I had two goons knock at my door, asking to do a survey of electrical equipment, I agreed. After the 3rd or 4th question, they asked about tv programs. I asked them if they were from tv licensing? They said they were. I lied and said I don’t have a tv. They said ‘it’s our standard reply to that statement, do you mind if we verify that by entering your premises’. I gave them my standard response F Off!

Having done research on harassment Iaw i can assure all your viewers that the BBC far exceed the criteria to actually bring a case against them for same,
harassment is a criminal offence in law, a gentleman in my community has actually won a case against the bbc for harassment after producing the amount of letters he received and directing the court on the threatening nature of these letters which is totally unacceptable to an elderly person, despite the BBC saying the elderly will be treated sencetivily when the free licence was abolished its actually just the opposite, he was awarded compensation and found not guilty due to not watching live tv, they are fully aware their tactics are more than enough to bring a harassment case but most people are unaware that it actually does come under harassment and is easy to prove if you keep all letters and, log any calls or visits by the goons, this is a route that is well worth consideration to stop these parasites from persistent threats, the BBC abuse the fact that people dont , or are afraid to do so, my opinion is backed up by a solicitor who is an expert in harassment law and looking at just one case of the sheer amount of threatening letters off the BBC and the tone of them, hope this helps anyone who is worried and suffering their abuse.

What's the situation if their "Inspectors" say you have been watching BBC when you haven't? You say the inspector seeing the operational TV is their evidence but what would happen if they said they saw it and you said they are lying? What physical and provable evidence do they collect other than Dave the inspector saying "I saw it"? Is Dave the inspectors word accepted without question in court?

    • @ShanghaiRooster

If the inspector does somehow gain entry (maybe someone else in your house lets them in) then film their entire visit. Maybe also film any doorstep encounter you have with them.

Many years ago I moved into a new flat and was given an old TV so I had something to play my xbox on. It was an old set with only 4 channels and needed a little red stick to tune it in. On the day I moved in an inspector called I let him in as had nothing to hide and he could see my stuff was piled up in boxes. I told him the TV was only used to play the games console. He asked if I could switch it on which I did and showed him static on all 4 channels. He said as the TV was working I needed a licence as it could potentially receive TV if I just tuned it in. I was young and believed him assuming as he was an inspector he knew the rules. He asked me to sign a form just confirming his visit which I did as by this point I just wanted him gone. Looking back now I realise the form may have been a blank 'declaration of guilt' form. I think once he had my signature on the bottom he probably fabricated a false story filling out the rest of the form once he was back in his van. I ended up buying a TV licence for 2 years just to play a games console until I became more clued up on the law. The scumbags will tell all sorts of lies to get their commission. My only advice is if they do ever access your home film everything they do, don't sign a thing and don't get into any sort of conversation with them

@@markhoverd4993 that’s exactly what happens mate. I know as I used to work for them and saw 2 of my colleagues and manager fabricate evidence by getting them to sign the form to say we had called. It is a common tactic by them. I bet you weren’t even cautioned. Once they establish who you are and they believe you have used a tv without a licence then they have to read the caution out to you. Very rarely do they do that.

And even before that I rarely watch it. The TV is just sitting there collecting dust and this is the god honest truth, I only watch Netflix and TH-cam on my tablet or phone, my wife watches polish content on her phone, and my daughter same as me watches Netflix and TH-cam on her phone and tablet.

Any way you won't be in a real Court, you be in a Star Court. Ask MOJ by a SAR for you case number it will come back none exist.
