We did a National trust job, no hot works, no plastic or compression fittings permitted, a few impossible to press joints ended up getting soldered in the van in the carpark, I tested some press joints done with a new Rems tool and found you can just wobble the pipe a few times and pull the fitting off! thank god I've now retired and can just tut shake me head and giggle.
Oh hi dude tectite fittings are good, in regards push fit fittings in general iv never seen one blow off, yes iv had a few leak but that’s mainly because of a faulty fitting or damaged pipe!! Cheers my friend 🤟🤟
Mmmmm I do prefer soldered fittings but at work if we didn’t use press fittings we wouldn’t get any work with the pricing element ie time saved/ no hot works permit and the ability to repair pipes with water running though them, yes the little copper slither was kinda behind the rubber o ring but it did go down the face of the inside of the fitting as well!, cheers for commenting my friend 🤟🤟
Just don’t see why cure a problem that doesn’t exist end feed leaks or it mostly doesn’t.also when u come to a repair and use solder it will melt other fittings just waste of money

Mmmm wish I could retire!!! Cheers for reaching out with your story 🤟🤟
Always check for manufacturers defective errors in pipe fitting. Never thought I had to. I will in the future now. Thanks Jon
Cheers pat 🤟🤟
I'm not a plumber. So I use a lot of Tectite fittings. Are they any good Jon?

I use press fit and that's happened to me,
Fortunately the fitting was on show so I spotted straight away.
Oh hi Steven thanks for reaching out with your input it’s much appreciated 🤟🤟
Interesting as always Jon, bit more swearing please 🔝😉
Fuuuuck sorry about that 🤪🤟
Interesting that such a little thing can cause a failure… think I’ll stick to the plastering 😃👍
Yes stick to plastering it’s a better trade 🤟🤟
I didnt have you down as a press guy. Would you see it with the rubber o ring in the way?

Mmmmm good point Alan 🤟🤟
Press and push fit = fast and lazy. Maximising profit not quality.
Good point sir, I’m old school and prefer soldering but when installing plant rooms or late night shut downs press fittings are just the ticket 🤟🤟
