Hello and welcome to uk tool talk, I love all aspects of powertools ie reviewing them! Testing them! Fixing them! Dismantling them and even altering them, iv been in the building trade as a plumber for 38 years so and I’d like to think iv got Allot of knowledge about powertools ( especially makita!) Iv picked up over the years, yes you heard it I’m the biggest makita super fan boy in the uk so if it’s makita content your after uk tool talk is the place to be!, second only world wide to the mighty tools and stuff from New Zealand, what’s on my channel, well since my channel is very small at the moment I only have limited resources to get hold of the latest tools to review but I try ( if it’s makita and not mega expensive it’s all good) here’s my pitch!! With my channel you will get honesty! You will get an in depth review and testing and opinion of said tool and more importantly to me you will get a giggle and bants and querky ness

The light flashes red when you have not reached the correct torque setting, and green when you have. I'll send you the link for the software if you want to plug it in and have a play with that. You can also program it to run at whatever speed you want. You can even set it to run for 1 second on a low rpm then 2 seconds on a high rpm, then stop for instance. They are fun to play with. I really should get around to reviewing all the ones I showed in several of my older vids.
Cheers dude I tryd to find out how to get the software but didn’t get anywhere, it’s a crazy drill!! Very very interesting, the only thing is I’m in a holding pattern with my channel ie this video was going to be very much more in depth and allot more research was needed and to get all the points across it might have Been an hour long video possibly 2 and I’m trying to make shorter video ie less than 10 minutes and not repeat myself so much, sooooo I’m in a weird space really! This video is not the video I wanted to put out and I’m errrr kinda content with it ish but it’s getting tons of views and engagement which has given me a boost, fuck me I don’t know what to do 🤪😜🤪🤟🤟
Very cool. I bet the red light when you first pulled the trigger shows that the driver did not reach the torque setting. I suspect it was working fine. Did you try driving a fastener with it? The switch on the gear housing may be a Hall effect sensor for encoding rotational counts, or to count if the back section of the clutch slipped a set number of times. I wonder what the torque rating is...
Maybe that mystery button is a normally open kill switch, closed by part of the case when correctly positioned and fully assembled? First thing I'd try is reassemble the tool but leave the case open and see if it will run from the trigger. If not, or if any part doesn't work normally, try again while pressing the button. Also the switch wires might offer a clue to function; where do they trace to?
They don't have rubber over-molding because it gets wrecked from the amount of hours of work they put theses things through. Also, there is an expectation to wear gloves for fastening tasks so it would be redundant. Software controlled because they don't want it getting misconfigured all of the time between shifts
Woooh cheers for the info my friend you get a star 🌟
I want one so badly. The apprentices at work would be so jealous and I’d be the cool 49 year old chippy.
Great video
😆
😆💪
How much and where from I need one and is it super safe
Hi I will buy one from you if possible
Oh hi friend I have sold a few buuuut it’s a very expensive item for what it does, the cheapest iv been able to produce them for is £50 I’m afraid
Strangely thought that the 12v cut better than your 18v 🤷♂️. Great video mate 👍☕️
Cheers mucka 🤟🤟
Beautiful
@@LightSaber12345 cheers pal 🤟🤟
Bosch and Metabo.
2 good brands right there!!!!
Interesting.why are the blades so expensive ☹️
Mmmmmm that’s a great question!!!! At a guess it’s because of the metal used ie very hard and the pin. Connector bit which needs to have pretty much zero tolerance, that said yes they are still to expensive 🤟🤟
Test the newer DTP141
Good shout my friend iv got a dtp141!! I bought it a year ago from a Japanese seller on eBay!!! Why oh why I can’t get round to a proper review of this drill I’ll never know!!!! Hopefully one day 🤪🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK 🤲🏽
Some of us accept a certain amount of mimickry, but that's taking the piss passing itself off as an actual Makita branded tool. I have a Katsu brand cordless trim router that is an extremely close copy of the DRT50, but for a lot less money. Unfortunately I don't possess the genuine model to compare properly, but apart from a couple of very slight differences in case shape it looks identical to pictures of the genuine Makita, and certainly works as expected.
Cheers for another well thought out comment my friend 🤟🤟
The copy sounds flat even though its new.
I know right!! You have good hearing my friend 🤟🤟
Jon you're a bit quiet, are you off camping ⛺️ 🤘🏼
No dude I’m just getting a bit bored with having a TH-cam channel I’m afraid 😟
I like makita's corded saws I use them dayly I cut to much to use a cordless.
Great comment my friend I love it 🤟🤟
😇
Cheers my friend 🤟🤟
Looks like you need me there mate😅
@@timharrison3521 yes dude the walls are falling off!!!! 🤟🤟
Well the best way use a battery converter
Your right my friend 🤟🤟
now U over over engineered it... 😅
I know right 🤪🤪
Hard to disagree with U on this one, mate, the same is with knip.x CutiX (90 10 165) over engineered as well; but I still love them, for the pliers wrenches (86.... series), and all cobras and alligators of course! regards from polish plumber in nederland
Really interesting to see someone else adapting their tools for their own use
@@zman1508 cheers sir, it’s one of my favourite things to do and I don’t understand why more folks arnt doing it?, iv done quite a few adaptations if your interested, ill try and put them all together on a play list 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK Cheers that would be great! I love doing it myself. Often a dremel or a little bit of filing and sanding can take something from terrible to great :)
Milwaukee is releasing the new m12 rotary hammer in november, it even has a chisel function
So it's only the colour you've got to change now 😉
Thanks pal 🤟🤟
Great job. Love the brass gas fire tap nut extension for the spring, genius! 👍
Cheers pal 🤟🤟
Very nice job. Way better than it came out the box .
It came in a bag . . . . . . .
Cheers sir 🤟🤟
where is Micky Burrows
I have a Ryobi EzClean and can wash my car using less than 15L of water and it only uses half of one 4ah 18v battery. I have a couple of 25L water containers I use.
Wow that sounds awesome my friend 🤟🤟
When you consider the copy is a fraction of the price, and in most cases will still get the job done, it's an option, specially for a tool you might not use that often or will take places tools tend to walk away from.
Yeah but if you are a professional then the copy is not worth it even though it is pretty good and cheap. You just couldn't rely on it. Better to get the cheapest model of Makita impact (which is still more expensive than this copy).
Mmmmm some very good points there my friend 🤟🤟
Jon you've been working too hard, I can tell by your hands. Time to go camping ⛺️
Cool comparison. One thing I know many TH-camrs mention the wrong way around: The stator is the fixed part (it's static), the rotor is the rotating part.
Did I get it right?? Iv got it wrong many a time 🤪
Not enough cheese rolling in this video. That hill looks prime for the sport
Mmmmm I agree my friend, there is a lovely steep hill right at the back of the pyramid stage field that would be ideal!! It would be a great addition to the festival 🤟🤟
The logistics of the copy are so remarkable. While the Makita is simply not for sale in a large part of the world, I can find the copy everywhere even in second hand stores. That has to be an achievement for the DTD173z and Makita as a whole: the most widely distributed clone of a tool ever
Cheers for your insightful comment my friend 🤟🤟
I love knipex products. But this is shit. Buy a couple of proper slices
Do you makita repairs and services for people?
My first drill was the 6280d 14.4v but now i use the 6095d 9.6v 😂
Nice!!! Cheers for that 🤟🤟
Great classics. I've got my dad old, 6095d, and his 6903vd, which im using for my level 2 college course
6904vd sorry
Awesome man , im still using my old 9.6v makitas my main one is the 6095d but also use the 6903vd which is a impact driver which my father bought me for my 17th birthday
Thanks, helpful to see all compared. And don't forget the noise protection for your ears.
You make great videos, but I do miss your FUCKING swearing 😉
Me to my friend 😔
Doesn't it cost a fortune to go nowdays. I thought it was only spoilt uni kids that can afford to go because daddy pays. Hopefully they don't all leave their tents and sleeping bags behind because they're too lazy to take them home 🤣
@@combrogi it can be a bit like that, lots of posers and fakers but still I’d say 75% good people, we are lucky not having to try and get a ticket!!, the tickets are free for us since we work there 🤟🤟
Great video, I like knipex tools, I recently bought the new ratcheting cable knife, it was presented in the new update video, along with this tube cutter. The knife is expensive too, it works, I can fold the blade, it's safe to use, I want to test it in cold weather, when the insulation is harder. But sometimes knipex just complicated simple designs. I also use their plastic tube cutter, the bix, it's a good tool. Thanks for your onest review.
Polypipe products are superb too.
Ok sir polypipe is cool as well 🤪
Put your drill in locked position and then tap the trigger to turn off the light without having to pull off the battery.
Plumber but gas safe???
Spot the biggest tool in the picture
Excellent… things of note…. I’ve got a multi tool that sounds just like that when I use it 😂 (still going strong though🙌)… also, I had an old morris minor as my first car.. my dad hand painted it a turquoise blue… not quite makita, but close enough. Thanks for the video mate👍
Oh hi Tim great to hear from you hope all is good and your plastering is smooth and not going off to quick!!!
