    Your IRs are the best I've used so far. Very dynamic, very musical.

    I just got your ac30 and g12h 55Hz IRs and they sound incredible. I think the ac30 sounds better than the Blue IRs that Celestion sells themselves. Very complex, bright and pretty with smooth overdrive at the same time. Never harsh. Makes it really hard for me to put down my guitar. Thanks for all you do. I love your knowledge-driven approach.

    Informative video! I'm loving your channel, and thank you for sharing your knowledge on these vids. I was already going to be picking up the Zilla cab pack, but after watching this, I'm thinking I'll be getting more. Thank you, sir!

    we're both matcheq geek. I snapshot every single guitar sound that I like from you tube, multitrack, etc... It really helps to tune amp setting and mic placement. For me, one of the best guitar sound for marshallish tone are American idiot and Basket case guitar sound. Based on the snapshot I fine tune my JVM HJS and my mic placement. Same with an AC30 tone based the Brian May One vision guitar tone.

      @@mlsoundlab Voila : I am huge a fan of CLA, Doug Mckean and Rob cavallo. I manage to get an answer regarding the cabinet & miking used on american idiot. Doug told me, it was an old marshall with V30 miked with a Sony C37A. However regarding a snapshot, it looks more like a pre-rola cab curve than a V30

    A lot of the 2x12 irs I have sound thin compared to the 4x12. These sound full. What makes these irs sound so thick.

      Kevin White First of all thank you for this comment. A big part of creating good IR's is spending time picking the best cabs you can find. The Orange 2x12, Mesa 2x12 and Zilla 2x12 cabs I shot sounded as big as 4x12s in real life as well. My approach to mic placement is exactly the same no matter what size the cabinet. I did get a Marshall 1936 cab that's actually a pretty big 2x12 but it just sounded so thin that it didn't make it into a Cab Pack.

    I would really like to try your Irs. Do you have an Ir loader program and a trial run or a few free cabs to try. Right now I use two notes captor and their wall of sound.

    Hey Mikko, can you do some vids of you getting good sounds with your IR's and free amp sims?

  • @UniteAndAttack
    @UniteAndAttack 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Mikko, why is it that older IRs (Sperimental, Rosen Digital, Gods Cab) sound a lot boomier and today's impulses like your Best Impulse in the World and Ownhammer are a lot dryer, thicker, defined and mids based?

    3:37 you just explained why your IRs sound so real, i'd blame 3/4 of the tone on that head alone. i bet if you drove a crate combo with a mark IV it would sound killer.

    • @mikkologren7981
      @mikkologren7981 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      shatteredsquare The difference between power amps in IR's is mainly the frequency range/limitation of the power amp and obviously speaker volume and drive. Modern power amps like most Mesa's are actually quite clean though scooped. Anyways I do remove the color but the benefits are a realistic range = punchy feel. Tube feel?

    • @johnyang799
      @johnyang799 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the output impedance of the tube head. The cabinet has a varying impedance curve so the higher output impedance change the sound of the speakers. If you use solid-state amp, the output impedance is much lower even though it may be better it doesn't give the sound by using a tube amplifier.

    I'd like to get into the Axe FX III game - would you trade 3d modeling and animation(s) showing techniques like your robotic arm mic in action? The 3d animation work will help me fund a new Axe FX III. Thanks, Jasen

    I tried "the best IR in the world" from you and did not like it honestly. I also tried mikko with the free ir impulse that came in there and although I got good results by combining mics, etc. I still prefer the mix ready IRs from fat lazy cabs for example. Too lazy I guess 🤣

    I watched about 90% of your videos, downloaded & tried out all of your free IRs (thank you by the way!) & even bought your new Djent pack but in all honesty your IRs are good but not "the greatest" as you or anyone else claims them to be & i understand that that is a matter of my opinion but to be fair, you claiming they're "the best" is a matter of your opinion as well. I didn't come here to bash you by any means, i truly enjoy your content but for me personally these "GOAT" claims are somewhat of a turn off for me personally.
