    The Mesa trad has been my first cab pack and the mixes blew my mind. This is a perfect video for me. I'm definitely interested in more from York Audio and other vendors in the future.

    Just picked up the DT77s and the Marshal V30 pack from York Audio. These IRs absolutely slay. I haven't even touched anything outside of the first few "mix" IRs, they are just that good. They have the neutrality of the Celestion IRs but are not nearly as thin or sizzly sounding. They have more "breathing room" if that makes sense. They sound like a well mic'd cab.

    I started using the Matchless blends for essentially every amp sim now. It works for me bc the amp characteristics change but there's this like common sound to all of them with the same IRs. Not for everyone, but I love it.

    Any chance you could do some Celestion vs York IR shootouts? Looking for Greenback, Creamback and Vin30 flavors. It's impossible to do one-for-one comparisons for some speakers, though.

    Wow these are incredible! Went to load them into my stomp intended on about 20 mins . Almost 2 hours later I’m still smiling. Best few quid iv spent. It now sounds like a proper amp 👍. Highly recommended the mesa 412 oversized package thanks Leon great advice

  • @1lorenzoercoli
    @1lorenzoercoli 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you're playing a recto, the mesa 4x12 oversize is the way to go. The traditional does let through too much of that fizzy high end typical of the rectifier.
    Mark amps are awesome and , depending on taste, can match both the traditional and the oversize cab.

    Yeah, stank face! Great intro to York IRs. I have gravitated around Ownhammer mostly so nice to hear something new, will check them out. Could you help show a folder structure so we can see how many mixes & mics come with a pack? Ownhammer shows this in detail for example. Lancaster IRs come with only 6 or 8 depending on the pack with no details. I know it’s all about sound but it’s nice to know exactly which mics represent each IR to compare to others in my opinion. Great video! 👍

    • @seventhsealhere
      @seventhsealhere 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      York Audio website does list the mics in each pack, excellent! A folder view and IR count of mics & mixes would be a good addition.

      York Audio having sale on IR packs - 30% off. I'm taking Leon's advice and using some of this COVID-19 time to practice with some new stuff. Give some love to small businesses at this time if you are able. Many are helping with sales and a great time to practice your favorite instrument!

    Having the M20 cab pack, I love the M20 mixes on the Friedman with humbuckers! Also great on other Marshall’s. York Audio is great in that the cab packs aren’t bloated with thousands of IR’s. Every single IR is great however, and sounds great @ 20-20khz. They’re not pre-eq’d, so if it sounds great at 20-20, it’s just a matter of subtle EQ, to fit your needs.
