    I bought a maxi climber about 5 years ago and used it enthusiastically for about a month. Alas, it has been gathering dust ever since. Your mom is putting me to shame! My husband bought me a VR headset for Christmas, and I've been enjoying using some fitness apps on that. Your so lucky to still have your parents. Appreciate them every single day🤩

    I use a similar machine at the gym I to , but its even better , its a vibrating climbing machine . Vibration is good for your joints and bones . If you remember the Rocky 4 movie the russian guy played by Dolph Lundgren trained with the climbing machine.

    I signed up at a gym and saw they had the vertical climber. It looked so simple machinery wise. So I decided to try it. Was very awkward the first few times I pedaled up and down. Then I realized you can adjust it. Was adjusted to the maximum level up. It was a little difficult. Nice stretching with it too. I did like it.

    Good on you for finding a fitness solution for your mum! I noticed she was wearing shoes with solid soles. I had a Maxiclimber and got pains in my mid feet from standing on the very narrow bars at the bottom. But maybe that was due to my using rubber soled trainers. I had neuromas in my feet before I started.

    osteoporosis is what causes most kyphosis. take your vit d and get a bone density test around menopause and every few yrs thereafter. if your bone density is decreasing, there are prescription meds u can take to help. this is a hereditary condition and most common in thin white females and is preventable

    • @thehonestchannel

      Hi. I'm really interested in NMN, having just read David Sinclair's Lifespan book. I'm actually interviewing a doctor about it this week for the channel and am planning to start myself, my mum and my dad on it shortly. One of the things I'm less sure about is whether I'd feel good about taking it every day long term but the early evidence behind it is impressive.

    What a wonderful thing to see - your Mama working out! My only question (I’m an exercise physiologist) is to wonder about how this gait pattern might negatively affect the neurology (if that’s all the exercise she does).
    It may not have any negative effects if you incorporate other activities, but the body actually needs to do cross crawl movements.
    There’s another climbing machine that offers the more natural pattern which is (in my opinion) better for balance. Probably many of them, although they might cost more.
    As people grow older, these patterns become more important.
    Watch your Mother’s pattern of arm swing as she walks. When her right leg comes forward, her right arm should swing back, and her left arm should swing forward.
    This is essential for good balance to prevent falls.
    I just discovered your videos, today. 😎

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the Foreo Bear but I think it's quite similar to the NuFace. The ZIIP is slightly different because it also uses nanocurrent and is noticeably gentler on the skin. The results aren't as immediately obvious but it's a better user experience and I think a little kinder over time. I'll share my thoughts in a video on my skincare routine and learnings to date next month to coincide with my 50th : )

    Is an elliptical machine similar to these climbers? I have a treadmill at my home, but the small gym where I live has an elliptical, so was wondering if it would the same.

    • @thehonestchannel
      @thehonestchannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      They're pretty similar. I have an elliptical trainer as well. The vertical climbers are more weight-bearing than an elliptical, but ellipticals use most of the major muscle groups as well so there's not a huge amount in it.
