I really wish this was cannon because it shows Mauls final moments feeling compassion and regret. this shows the moment in his training when he killed any feelings of regret, care, or sorrow he had. the moment he went from just Maul, of Dathomir, to Darth Maul, Sith Lord
FYI, the guys that made the movie even made an alternate ending where Maul did not kill the Padawan girl. But they went with the more suitable ending where Maul kills her.
Nah, he didn't want to kill her because he realized she would make for a powerful apprentice as her hate was strong at the end. We know Maul wants an apprentice (as shown throughout clone wars) and here Sidious denies him that opportunity (which again fuels his hate).
@@SpartanTeamLogic at this point in maul's story he has no interest in getting an apprentice. he's been conditioned and believes in the importance of the rule of two and his role as next in line to the most powerful sith. Maul only wanted to seek an apprentice after he was left for dead and abandoned by his master. His whole life, his legacy, was wasted and he decided he would amass power and get his own apprentice to replace his master As the true sith. If you read the novel, "the wraith of maul" you get to see his progression from a child under sidious's torturous training. He grappled a lot with guilt and compassion in his earlier years, so seeing his second thoughts about killing the young jedi in this fan film makes total sense.
I thought he hesitated because he saw himself in her, and consequently he saw himself in Palpatine. It gave him pause, realizing who he had really become. But of course, he was in too deep by this point. In for a penny, in for a pound.
Some background information: the Maul actors name is Ben Schamma. When he was 12 he met Ray Park on a Star Wars Con and had a stage fight with him. Since then he wants so become Maul. Today he is a stuntman, personal trainer and professional cosplayer. He is married to the Togruta and his wife is a professional cosplayer too. They have another little star wars film called "Mr & Mrs Sith" playing Darth Maul and Darth Talon. Feel free to react to this. The jedi-master is a martial arts actor and was the maincharacter in a german TV-Show about ninja-monks fighting the illuminati called "Die Faust Gottes" (the fist of god), which was very cheesy. His Padawan is a german soap opera-actor.
Yeah, I think at the end, he was kinda feeling something for her. She had grown stronger and let hatred fuel her fighting and her anger and defiance spoke through her glare.
Ásragin Kyron I think he saw her use of the dark side and thought of making her an apprentice in secret, but realized that Sidious was watching him, so he had to end it.
Maul was conflicted at the end of the battle with the padawan because he could see a potential apprentice within her. But, of course his training was being observed and by ending the padawan completed his training and gave him 'Darth' status.
The reason he hesitated was because he could feel her anger rising ,and possibly considered for a moment turning her to the Dark Side. Afterall Sith are always plotting to kill their master and train the next Sith so they can help with that, only to be betrayed by that apprentice themselves. But of course with Sidious watching him Maul could'nt use her for that. Won't be the last time that Sidious would foil an apprentices plans since he also ordered Vader to kill Starkiller after he found out about him.

This is such a great fight. And its been awhile since I've heard someone call that one Jedi "Sub Zero" nice change of pace from only calling him "Bane"
it's because Maul knows rage, it's the only thing that fuels him. The idea of getting vengeance upon those who wronged him, is what kept him alive in the clone wars.
4:20 To be fair, Maul did stop moving, making them pause as well. Also am I the only one happy that they did their film with English dialogue instead of their native German language? You know, so that people like you and I can understand them? Also did you see the behind the scenes?

@@oscarkane5927 Absolutely true. At that time, that was the rule since Sidious was planning the rise of the Sith and he needed to keep everything shrouded from the Republic "regime". Back in the Old Republic tho, the Lords of the Sith could freely take apprentices at their own will, without asking any permission. It was, instead, sort of required.
