I was shocked to learn that Velvette's VA is not indeed English. She's American! And her accent was so good that people had to double-check and make sure she wasn't actually English.
14:44 Once sinners arrive in hell they can no longer have children. So we're not sure if it's a case of them being her adopted daughters whom she took under her wing after they died and met in hell, or if they were her daughters when they were alive and either found each other again in hell or if they died together. All we knows is that her daughters safety is her biggest concern.
The voice actor for Carmilla - her name is Daphne Rubin-Vega. She was the original Mimi Marquez from the 1996 Original Broadway Cast of 'Rent' (which was on Broadway for about 12 years and whose final performance was filmed live, it's based on Puccini's opera 'La Boheme', replacing tuberculosis with AIDS as to what illness plagues the artists who live there in poverty because they believe in 'la vie boheme' rather than focusing on making money). She was one of the two original cast members who did not reprise their role for the 2005 movie because she was pregnant at the time (Idina Menzel was also one of the original cast members as Maureen, she did return to reprise her role, this was after her success with Wicked, Anthony Rapp was another original cast member of Rent who was in the news a few years ago when he testified that Kevin Spacey had assaulted him). More recently Daphne had a minor role as a salon owner in the movie of 'In The Heights'.
PLEASE REACT TO "SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON"! It's a story about a strong, beautiful horse with a spirit that can never be broken. I cry every time I watch it! It's a INCREDIBLE film, and the songs are so cool! But it's not a musical and the animals can't talk. 😭💔🔥
Last episode Vox the tv demon and member of the V's said that Alastor has been gone for 7 years. Thats why the other overlords weren't expecting to see him since if he's been gone for 7 years in hell you can only assume he died on an extermination day.
The voice actor for Zestial - his name is James Monroe Igelheart. He's mostly known for originating the role of 'Genie' in the Broadway musical version of 'Aladdin', I didn't realise for a while that I'd seen him in the original Broadway cast of 'Memphis' as Bobby - very funny and with a really good couple of numbers as well. It got filmed live a little while ago so you can also see him there (and he guest starred in the Disenchanted movie, still annoyed they cut a group song he was in 'Hard Time for Heroes'). But more recently he's voiced two roles in Hazbin Hotel's sister series 'Helluva Boss' as the hellhound Vortex (nickname Tex) and as Asmodeus the embodiment of the Deadly Sin of Lust and ruler of the Lust Ring.
3:05 Alastor Is eating a deer carcass because when he was alive, he was a radio show host by day in the 40's, and also a serial killer. He was burying the body of his latest victim in the woods when a hunter mistook him for a deer and shot him in the middle of his forehead, hence the glowing red X on his forehead when he gets powered up in his demon form. However, the shot didn't kill him, it was the hunter's dogs who mauled him to death afterwards. That's why he hates dogs. He was also supposedly a cannibal, as suggested by Vivziepop's friend and former co-creator Faustisse, but Viv has said he's not actually meant to be a cannibal. You decide tho! He IS a deer demon and has ears, antlers, and hooves as well as hoofprint shoe soles. Viv says if he did have a tail, we'd never get the chance to see it bc there's no scenario where we'd see Alastor's butt. She's implied he does NOT have a tail, but in the show and in the fandom it's joked about a LOT whether or not he has a tail.
10:10 Yeah but Zestial didn't rise to it, Carmilla did. And in any case - what did it get Velvette? She baited Carmilla knowing that Zestial is a friend of hers because she suspected that Carmilla knew something about the dead exorcist. All she really got from Carmilla's outburst was a confirmation that Carmilla knows something about the exorcist - that's it. She doesn't know if Carmilla killed the angel or if she's covering up for whoever did kill it and what's more she still doesn't know HOW the exorcist died. She has no concrete facts to extort or blackmail Carmilla with, and in the process for this she insulted and made enemies out of two of the most powerful overlords in Hell - and what power or insight can you gain from insulting the one person who knows how to kill their biggest threat? Yes, it was a moment of weakness for Carmilla to give into that baiting so quickly, and yes we do know now that Velvette can pick up on things like that including when someone was hiding something and what some peoples weaknesses are (though it's not much of a skill if you're focusing on the one person who looks concerned or worried in the room and everyone probably already knows that Zestial and Carmilla are allies) - but I still say she lost more than she gained in that meeting. She has no details, no facts, only part of a suspicion confirmed with no information that she can use at a later date and in the process she made two powerful enemies. Velvette is not stupid - but she has no foresight, and she doesn't think ahead.
The voice actor for Velvette - her name is Lili Cooper. I know she's been in a few other things as well, but I mostly know her as the original Martha from the 2007 Original Broadway cast of 'Spring Awakening' (it's based on a German play about adolescents int the late 1800s, children who have just turned into teenagers in a time when no one told them about puberty or sex so they were basically kept ignorant and then left to figure it out on their own, i.e. they have no idea what wet dreams are and they don't know how you get pregnant, the musical made some changes but it's still a good show, in the musical we have young adults wearing old fashioned school uniforms that are too young for them to show them breaking out of their childhood bodies inspire of restraints to keep them there - Martha in both is a young girl who's beaten at home to a degree that she's frightened of coming home with her hair unbraided, and is the only one of her group of friends who has a crush on Moritz rather than Melchior, she takes part in group songs like 'My Junk', 'Mama who Bore Me Reprise' and gets a duet 'The Dark I know Well'). Anyone here who's seen 'The Marvellous Mrs Maisel' may know Gideon Glick, the original Ernst from the cast as Alfie the Magician in seasons 4 and 5. Anyone who's seen 'The Newsroom' may know John Gallagher Jnr who was the original Moritz from the cast, and most people probably know Lea Michele, Jonathan Groff, and Skylar Astin from various things over the years.
I love how quickly Frank tells Sir Pentious about Carmella killing the angel. You think it’s gonna be this huge reveal at a critical point towards the end of the season, but nope! He just blurts it out almost immediately and Sir Pentious doesn’t even believe him 😂
9:42 a) Zestial is a spider, they're all about waiting till the right moment to attack. b) they're both warlords but people aren't screaming/hiding/setting themselves on fire out of fear when she passes like they do with him c) he's an overlord that has been in power and escaped the exterminators for roughly 500 years (at least), and even though in the pilot we learned that Alastor has toppled overlords who have been in power for centuries, he either survived or Alastor know it would be better to have him as an ally than as an enemy - it's pretty safe to assume he knows what he's talking about. I'm not sure where this quote is from but it applies to many storylines, "don't underestimate old men in a profession where most die young". What I'm hoping for later is that we'll get to hear Zestial say to Velvette something along the lines of "Thou asked of me once, runion, if my years doth prevent my grasp for true power. I answer thee this day, though foolish child....thou knowest nothing of what true power entails...." Runion by the way means 'slut' - from Macbeth when one of the witches call a woman who insulted her "the rump-fed runion" meaning "pampered slut" (so from what I remember she and the other witches decide to punish her by cursing her husband to be unable to sleep so that he'll die a long painful death of withering away without any sleep).
In s2 i think there's going to be a showdown or another confrontation like bet. Velvette vs. Carmilla and Zestial since the Vees are going to be the main villains in s2. I hope to see more of Zestial. I'm curious to know how powerful he is because he is the oldest overlord in hell.
Thanks 🙏 No, I’ve found that if we watch with subtitles, we sometimes see dialogue stuff before it happens and that throws off the timing of us reacting and that’s a pain to edit later on. I also hate watching with subtitles unless they’re necessary - Sam
Be prepared for the next episode there are warnings of SA. Although it's the best episode with the best songs not to spoil anything. Loving your reactions. 💖☺️
3:55 Because she's extremely optimistic. And because she's princess of hell and therefore is a) a different brand of demon to the rest (both the hellborn demons and the demons that sinners become when they die), b) is second ranking on hell's hierarchy along with her mother (second only to Lucifer but above everyone else in the entire hell), and c) may be part angel from her father's side - no one in hell can hurt her. She doesn't flex her power but she's stronger than the rest of them and is immune to just about all of their attacks and powers. So because she can't be hurt I don't think she's ever learned how to feel unsafe from others.
@@samandmariachannel The ancient way he speaks, the body language and tone of voice of zestiel when he sinisterly said "fallen to holy arms" is very obvious, he is clearly trying to say "people thought you died", and giving that everything holy in this series is always attributed to the murderous angels... It's not that hard to connect the two
Comment for the algorithm, but I am going to try to not just repeat my comments from Patreon. 😊 I do like that this episode really shows us various souls in hell, even including overlords, do care about people besides themselves (to varying degrees).
Episode 3 is my least favourite, partly because I don't particularly like the songs, but for the overarching story of at least season 1, it's one of the most important.
When zestiel said that there was a rumor that alastor had “fallen to holy arms”, he meant that an exorcist had killed him during a previous purge.
I was shocked to learn that Velvette's VA is not indeed English. She's American! And her accent was so good that people had to double-check and make sure she wasn't actually English.
Egg bois are severely underrated
The fact that the Egg Bois are voices by the same guy who voices Angel

The Eggs are not sinners. They are artificial demons created by Pentious (and another). They are more like pets than anything else.
