If you haven’t seen Secret of The Tomb which is the third Night at the Museum movie you would love it because it takes place at the natural history museum in London
This was I believe around the time that Ben Stillers father Jared Stiller passed because of that I believe there was something going on with his acting
The Cherubs were the Jonas Brothers, as someone who was a kid during the promo of the film, that was LITERALLY the selling point, all you heard was “Omg the Jonas brothers are in night as the museum”😂😂😂

Amy Adams is simply way too perfect to be Amelia Earhart in this movie to the point that I could've easily wanted an Amelia Earhart biopic movie starring her as Amelia, that could've been awesome
Fun fact : The Actor how played napoleon is Alain Chabat a really big and famous french Actor/director/comedian/producer/television host. Here in france that man is a legend.
Having grown up going to the Smithsonian fairly regularly, this was wild to watch when I was younger. They even included my favorite museum, the Air & Space. Always loved learning there, and the fighter jet flight sims were so much fun.
growing up in Richmond and having almost every major field trip from elementary school to high school be to the national mall and various places around dc, I remember freaking out when I saw this movie and national treasure.
I didn't realize that the guy who played Kakhmunrah was also Gargamel in the Smurfs movie. Like two characters having two different voices and dude pulled it off the best that he possibly could. Hank Azaria is amazing! 🙌
14:58… The “National Treasure” theme! I don’t know if you guys have seen that movie yet, but the theme from that movie is played here because of the parallels of the story lines. Pretty cool easter egg.
Oh that makes so much sense. Both movies were my childhood but sometimes they got conflated in my mind. It’s probably because they had the same musical themes in some parts.
In the previous film it was explained that the Egyptians learned English by being at colleges. There is a clip online and on the DVD about different accents depending on the college his character was at. It's pretty funny.
Ben Stiller and Hank Azaria worked together in 'Along Came Polly' (2004), too. And Owen Wilson had a recurring role in the 'Meet the Parents' franchise. 🧡
Ben Stiller and Shawn Levy haven't commented on why Larry Daley is often grumpy or unfazed by all the craziness around him, but it seems like a choice they made together tbh. Given Stiller's skill for character development and Levy's hands-on directing style, it’s likely they wanted to create a contrast between the wild stuff happening and Larry's "been there, done that" attitude.
If I don't mistake myself, it was originally planned for Kakhmunrah to reveal that he killed he's younger brother in an attempt to steal the throne, but the ideia was eventually discarded for being too dark or something like that
Bill Hader as GENERAL CUSTER!! Amy Adams as Amelia Earhart Hank Answers as Egyptian brother Christopher Guest is Ivan the Terrible Robin Williams 🙏RIP🙏
I'm from DC, and yes the Smithsonian is a network of I believe 21 different museums, art galleries, and a Zoo. 17 of the museums and the National Zoo are located in DC. The most famous of the museums include the Air and Space museum (seen in this movie), The Museum of Natural History (the one with the big elephant at the entrance) , and the Museum of American History. The newest of the Smithsonian museums is the Museum of African American History, opened in 2016. And in 2020, two new museums were approved by Congress. The National Museum of the American Latino, and the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum. They haven't been built yet though.
I think this is close to being better than the first movie - it’s my fave of the three. Amy Adams is so good as Amelia Earhart - this movie (or rather her quote at the end) inspired me to take my own writing more seriously. And Hank Azaria also voiced The Thinker statue and President Lincoln - he’s so talented. I love him in America’s Sweethearts, a romantic comedy you guys should see.
23:53 “they appreciated that kind of man” actually no. This famous photo is actually documenting a non-consensual sexual assault. The soldier, Mendonsa, had been running around kissing and groping multiple women without their permission and the photographer followed him to try and get a great shot, instead of intervening. When he got to Greta Zimmern, the nurse in the photo, a hollocaust survivor, she was terrified. You can see she’s holding her dress down as he’d already made an attempt to go up it. But, it was not just him. Many soldiers saw these street celebrations as an opportunity to “take liberties” with all women. Women that were screaming that they were married or as young as 13. Women were smacked, groped, kissed and stripped “in service” of the nation. In the worst cases their husbands or brothers were beaten and at least 6 women were gang r*ped. There are many pictures of consensual happy kisses of couples on that day, but this photo is still celebrated and hung in most VA offices across the country. Sexual assault groups have been trying to ban the photo, but unsurprisingly the male-dominated VA has been fighting it stating “it was a different time” and it’s a joyous moment. 🤮 So, respectfully… no, it wasn’t. Women were terrified. And that woman definitely wasn’t enjoying herself.
yes. Thanks for saying this. it always bothered me that the movie not only celebrated it but then made Stiller also kiss her and made her look like she was up for it. RIP Greta.
