@@chuckmaddison2924wrong, more murders back then, I was around then in my teens. Midland and east areas, Lockridge, Beechboro and Midvale were very scary, I’ve felt safer in African slums
I live in Cannington, been here about 14 years. Where you started filming the Cannington segment literally no more than 20 meters to the right is where my car was broken into about 2 months ago. I also work adjacent to Karawara (directly behind you on the other side of the road is Curtin Uni). I can never say I feel unsafe, like I never felt I’m about to get mugged or beaten up, but sure you need to take precautions, it’s mostly opportunistic crime like you refer to.
That's the way we feel as well. It does appear most of the crime is opportunistic. We witnessed it first hand in Chemist Warehouse in Cannington with a shoplifter.
It's not that bad. The train station can be feral. Mind you. The piss weak staff at the NDIS want to be walked to their cars and the train station in daylight hours. What a pathetic lot
Where you started walking in the midland location, my car was parked along that foot path you are walking at in front of the Dome Cafe, and I came back to my car being spray painted by a bunch of teenagers. I was livid. Another time, I drove past that Midland Gate shopping center and saw two adults having sex outside the shopping center next to a bus stop, in broad daylight during a weekday. Last week or so, there was a dead body found next to the High school in Swan View, which is an 8 min drive from Midland gate shopping center.
I don't know if this guy is a local or what... but there's a few suburbs I'd have been more likely to be listed before those mentioned. It could well be that these areas experience a greater level of property crime but I'd have thought some other areas like Kel-----, Go------, Ba---, Gir-------, Ar------ and Mir-------, might reflect a greater level of street crime. I'm loathe to actually name them as I've lived or worked in some of those areas at one time or another and not everyone deserves the label of being bad. Which is true for most areas, and demographics do change over time. The point is, Perth is by and large a great place to raise a family.
Yes, I am local. At the time of filming those suburbs were rated as the top crime suburbs in Perth. Some of the suburbs you listed were in the crime statistics but they weren't in the top statistics. These do change over time as you know.
yeah fine, name the suburbs but how about going further and telling us all who is causing the crime there . there is a common denominator in those suburbs and we all know who it is , remove them and the suburb loses its criminal presence. these suburbs never asked for the problem people to be placed there , the government puts them there only because it doesnt want them where the politicians live . the suburbs are just suburbs the problem is Abo , etc
I'm on the same page with regards to Home West houses, it is a privilege not a right. Unfortunately, some do run this tax pay accommodations down to the ground and give their neighbors grief. The same neighbors who have to get up 4am, go to work to keep a roof over their heads. Respect is a two-way street.
I enjoy your vids but be very careful yourselves, although not named, you did mention a certain group who reside in public housing and who probably have all the time in the world to surf this platform and watch your vids, & they may not agree with your view. Always enjoy your walk abouts and insights, thanks for sharing and take care out there 😊
Good to know. I am going to visit my son in Perth soon. I am from a very safe city and country: Warsaw, Poland. One of the safest in Europe. The streets in your cideo look very much like in LA/USA. My son also told me there are many homeless people there. I think Australia has one of the highest rate of homeless people among the OECD countries, almost 100 per 10,000. In Poland we have about 3 per 10,000. Anyway, it will be interesting to see Perth.
Unfortunately there are homeless people in Perth - mainly in the city area. The 2021 census estimated that the homeless rate is 48 in 10,000 in Australia. There are many places in Perth that are safe so you should enjoy your visit with your son. 😎
3 percent of the population from a particular group commit more than 50 percent of the crime here and most of the violent crime. Yes, lots of homeless now due to the government bringing in too many migrants, but the homeless generally are not aggressive, just average people who cant find a property to rent. We dont have a huge fentanyl drug issue like the US.
If you are in Burswood but away from the Casino eg: at the other side of the stadium I have found it quite safe in Burswood. I would also think that the stadium would contribute on game days.
Thank you..... My son is living in WA and we are going to visit him coming February 2024. The infor is really useful for us to up our guard when we are there... Bless you...
Compared to where you come from in South Africa, whether it's Johannesburg or Capetown, these suburbs are like heaven! So why don't you go back to your home country and do a series on that? At least you don't have to be armed in Perth, unlike Johannesburg, etc
All countries have crime. As we live in Perth this is why we did this video. As you will see from our other videos, Perth is our major subject matter. And pretending there is no crime in Perth is not something that we are going to do. You just have to turn on the news every night to see that Perth does have crime. We envy your ability to only see the good everywhere you look.
Very good information, I’m north of Perth around Banksia Grove my wife and I moved from NSW 16 months ago. Since being here never had a problem….as always we are mindful of our surround’s….we have a playing field nearby but never had any problems. My wife & I ran a Martial arts Studio for the past 20 years back in NSW…So both of us can look after Ourself.
Good to hear you've had no issues in the area that you live. Being mindful of your surroundings is always helpful in keeping trouble at bay - it also helps to be able to protect yourself.
What causes crime? Drugs and alcohol. Nobody forces people to take drugs or alcohol. People do it because they want to. They take no responsibility for their antisocial behaviour and crimes. They want to blame society.
For White Collar crime see 1- "Peppermint Grove"( lack of a war memorial is a give away. They stayed home to profiteer). 2- "Nedlands" , home of right wing politicians. 3- "Balga' 4- "Rocko!" and business district of "West Perth" ...where they ALL have their offices with connections to Panama, Cayman Islands and UEA accounts ....
You're certainly a South African from your action. South Africa is worst when it comes to crime rates. Why not you go back to South Africa & report on crime rates there?
At the time of filming Armadale wasn't as bad as the other suburbs. We will do another video and see what suburbs have the highest statistics this year.
I've was homeless for about 5 years and it was OK, had my swag stolen a few times, lucky I'm staunch and prevented being mobed and stabbed for my valuables 😂 yes I've met a lot of people who are drug farqed and don't want to pay rent or bills, more cash for the gnarbs, only way to fix the problem is with government intervention I reckon, tuff love needs to be applied to repeat offenders
I have never seen more police in my life, on every street corner, every shopping mall, inside every public rest room, every ladies changing room, verge bushes, parks, beach, inside my phone, they are like ants, in the millions they are, sirens screaming all nite long like back in Queens
Ok, I got to the end for Karawara. The Coles has a print of one of my favoirite Gardens in Camberwell so I have a soft spot for the tiny Plaza 😂 Did you hear about the woman who choked to death eating fries in her car in the carpark of McD Karawara a few years back;threw a spanner in the works at the coroners usual ruling of “natural cause“ i bet...unless it was them. Respect is important I agree but it seems the government is so mismanaged and overly concerned with looking after lining their own pockets that it has come to this. My bike was stolen from my car from people who holiday in S. Perth via government transitional housing during festive season every year. Who is blameworthy then?Cultural shifts is in order I say. The police and community have an unhealthy obsession with traditional crime and this rate will lead to the relocation and dislocation of many. Gone to the hounds, just like the rapture 💥 the time in which we currently live. As I said crime is lurking where you least exoect yet most people have succumbed to programming, to disregard to their own detriment. You make a good video, thaks for uploading. Having lived in Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island in New York, Miami, Sydney, Darwin, Alice Springs, and Melbourne, Perth is one of the safest cities on the planet!
Compared to Auckland, Perth has a very low crime rate, Auckland has become a violent hole, thats why we are moving to Perth mid this month.
We have heard that from several people. It is a shame as New Zealand is such a beautiful country.
We came to Perth in 1970 from overseas. Crime was pretty much non-existence. It changed with a change in immigration policy.
Better review your research! Country WA/Australia is the pits but capital cities are closing in FAST!
